A lot of time had passed when Rosaline got up from the bed. She walked to the bathroom with staggering steps. She turned on the shower and stood under it.
Once the hot water surrounded her and white steam filled the bathroom, she felt a little relieve from the soreness of her body.
The warm water felt very soothing against her skin.
She washed her body and tried to get rid of his smell that was all over her body. But even if she wanted to forget what happened last night, a part of her was lost. A part that would never come back in her lifetime. She was no longer the same pure girl she once was.
Rosaline turned off the shower. Wearing a bathrobe, she made her way to the room.
But she couldn't blame it all on Damon.
Because last night it was her who started it.
Rosaline sighed and once again her mind wandered to the happenings of past.
The day after she had made the gravest mistake of her life, she was still clueless of what waited ahead.
That day Charlie, her childhood sweetheart, had showed up at their gate and stayed there the whole day asking for Rosaline to forgive him
But she was too angry to even talk to him.
As she didn't want him to cause a bigger ruckus and alarm her parents, she went to him straight.
"Why are you here?", she asked him coldly. This was the first time she had talked to him in such a harsh tune.
"Ro-Rose?", Charlie breathed. His eyes held dark circles around it. It was obvious that he hadn't slept last night.
The guy in front of her had blond hair and beautiful brown eyes. His chiselled features were fresh and youthful. He had a tall stature and a bewitching charm in his personality. With his simple smile, he could steal the hearts of countless girls.
That was the guy she fell for.
Rosaline flared up. Flashes of the time when she saw him cheating on her emerged in her mind.
"Don't call my name from your filthy tongue", she seethed.
Then she proceeded to close the door.
"Rose please", he uttered pathetically and pushed himself forward to stop her from closing the door on his face.
"What the f**k you want now?", she shouted at him, "Haven't you caused enough damage to me?"
Charlie looked down ashamed.
He was at fault and he knew that.
"Rose I know that I messed up", his voice was quiet as he tightened his fists as if angry at himself, "But is there-is there no chance for forgiveness"
Rosaline was angry. So angry that she wanted to laugh.
"Forgiveness?", she asked incredulously with a mocking smile, "What if it was me? What if you have caught me f**king a man? Would you have forgiven me with a few words?"
Even imagining her with another man filled Charlie with relentless fury.
"Don't say that"
Rosaline was even more enraged.
"So its ok as long as its a man. But If its a woman she can't even think about it"
Rosaline took a deep breath. She really wanted to punch that guy in front of her.
"Good-bye Charlie", as she said it, she once again tried to close the door.
But Charlie didn't let her.
"Rose you are angry? Then beat me up. Take your anger on me. But please don't do this with me. I can't live without you. I lov..."
"Don't give me that shit!", Rosaline cut him off.
To be true, she was scared that she would forgive that despicable man. After all he was the one she loved since the beginning and feelings don't die overnight.
A big part of her heart still wanted her to feel his warmth, to make herself fall in his arms and cry out all her pains.
But she wouldn't let it happen.
She wouldn't make her lose in front of him and ask for his comfort.
She had to be strong and depend on herself.
"Just leave me alone, Charlie"
"Rose", his voice was soft as he asked apprehensively, "Do I have no chance?"
At this Rosaline was quiet as she asked the same question to herself.
Could she live without him? Could she forget him completely? Could she end her lingering feelings for him?
Once her silence dominated, Charlie felt little at ease.
It meant he still had a hope.
"I'm leaving for now Rose but I'll come back and remember only you are the love of my life", he conveyed the words of his heart and turned to leave. After throwing a last yearning glance at the love of his life, he left.
He had a flight that day and was leaving to study aboard in a university.
While Rosaline was still mending her broken heart, something even more terrifying awaited her.
