Chapter 36 - The Way Of Building A Strong Relationship

"Captain, Nolan Iselin disappeared! All his family members are also nowhere to be found!" Lt. Morris voice from the other line echoed throughout Yelena's ear.

The Captain eyes grew wide open in shock! What happened? She didn't receive any information about this from the Iselin's!

"How is that possible? I was the one who covered all his expenses and he still didn't recover yet. Where would they go?" She asked in a panic voice.

There were no other things as important as this matter. She cannot remain calm in such a situation. Besides, she spent many efforts and money on the man!

"I asked the hospital staffs and they said that he was transferred to another hospital. Some men help them to transfer last night." Lt. Morris was still in the hospital the moment he explained to his Captain.

"What about the name of the hospital?" Yelena asked again with a last bit of hope. She grew more and more anxious.

Nolan Iselin was their only hope! They can't afford to lose him.

"I asked but they don't know." The Lieutenant replied with guilt.

"Damn!" Yelena hardly bangs the wall next to her.

She was currently sitting in her hospital room near the window and take a peek of the hospital campus when she heard the devastatingly bad news! She was about to enjoy the beautiful view despite the annoying smell of the building, but the bad news more than ruined her time.

"Please calm down, Captain. Getting too workup is not good for your wound. I will look into it. I will surely find him again." Lt. Morris was in a dilemma himself.

Just like Yelena, he was desperate to know the truth. But now that their only hope had disappeared, he was not sure of what to do. Yet he still wants to reassure his Captain because he knows that the one who will be devastated the most is her!

Yelena helplessly covered her eyes with her palm and sigh. "I trust you. Try to find him soon. I have a bad feeling about this. If Nolan Iselin is really gone, then it's game over."

"I understand." Lt. Morris ended the call and start his mission to track down the Iselin's right away.

Yelena put down her phone and blankly stared out of the window. Why did things always go wrong? After 6 years, her hope had finally reached the highest, but it all disappeared in the blink of an eye? Many different thoughts entered her mind until a voice snapped her out of her repercussions.

"What is that about?" Felix was standing next to the door with some homemade foods in his hand.

He went home and prepared some foods after hearing how Yelena complaint about the hospital food. She said that the foods were bland and barely edible.

Yelena forced a little smile at the sight of him. "It's no important matter." She narrowed her eyes and saw the container on his hand. "What is that?" She faked an exciting smile, hoping to change the topic but it was no use. Felix keen eyes clearly see through her.

"I prepared some foods for you." He looked at her with a more serious face. "I don't think it's a simple matter. Yelena, don't try to change the topic."

Yelena lowered her eyes and quietly played with her fingers. She was feeling nervous.

Felix placed the container on the table and walked to her. He sat down to match her. "What's wrong? Did something happened?"

Felix's voice was so appealing and warm like a sunlight that Yelena was overwhelmed with the urge to tell him, but she barely resisted the idea. "I don't want to say."

"Why?" Felix patiently asked her again.

"Because you won't believe me."

She was afraid. For the past 6 years, no one believed her when she said that her brother's death was not an accident, except Morris. They were in the same situation. That's why they understand and rely on each other.

Judging from her past experiences, she was convinced that Felix won't believe her. He would think that she cannot accept her brother's death which caused her to assumed such things!

"Yelena." He calmly whispered her name. "From our very first encounter, you believed in me even though we are strangers. For someone like me, do you know how much that means?" He asked her.

He recalled the many times when he failed to make his family believe in his words. Even though he said many times that Cara's death was not a suicide, no one believed him. They thought that he was helplessly blinded by love which made him unable to accept his lover's death!

Someone like me? Yelena looked at Felix in confusion. "What do you mean?"

"As I promised you before, I will tell you everything once you recover. But today, it's your turn." He told her.

"But I didn't want to make you worry." She muttered. "I know you have your own worries. How can I burden you with mine?"

Felix smiled at her response. "If I didn't met your first love in person, I won't believe that you have fallen in love before."

He holds her hands and looks at her in the eyes. "Yelena, sharing our problems and worries is a part of love." He then paused for a while. "No. I will say that it's a foundation of love and the same thing will strengthen our trust in each other."

"In other words, you will share your problems with me and I will do the same. That's the way of building a strong relationship bound by trust."

"Whatever comes our way but as long as we communicate with each other, nothing in this world will be strong enough to destroy our love." He explained to her with a reassuring smile.

Yelena never looked at love in that way. She used to believe that sharing hardships will only burden the other. In her opinion, it's best to keep her problems to herself. But Felix also have a point.

"What if we cannot go through such hardships and feel burden by each other's problem?" She curiously asked Felix.

Felix thought for a while and responded. "Then that means we didn't love each other enough. That kind of relationship will break apart sooner or later and I don't want such a relationship."
