Chapter 47 - I Don't Give A Second Chance

"I suddenly think that it's a bad idea to bring you here," Felix said while having a look at the interior of the orchard. After exploring the beautiful nature of the trees, he was convinced that it was not a bad idea to spend the morning, being surrounded by the fruit trees.

Yelena tilted her head and gave Felix a strange look. "Why?" She asked.

"Since we reach this place, you went around almost everywhere. Did you already forget that we came here for your fast recovery? At this rate, I doubt that it would happen." He sighed and reminded her of the purpose of their journey.

"Don't worry. By doing this, I will regain my strength little by little and I will be able to return to my job soon." Yelena inhaled and let out a deep breath. "I miss this smell so much!" She exclaimed with a cheerful smile.

"Aw! Even in this situation, you only care about your job!" Felix pursed his lips, feeling displeased.

Shouldn't she take some time to rest after going through such things? Now that he thought about it, he became a bit scared. What if she gets hurt like that again?! Anything can happen to a soldier on a mission!

"That was not the first time you get shot. Am I right?" With a nervous face, Felix inquired.

"It's the second time but the first time was not this lethal. I got shot on the arm and luckily, the bones and veins were not affected." Yelena simply replied. She raised her hand, trying to get a grasp of the apple fruit that was just above her head.

"Ouch!" She yelped in pain. She briefly forgot that her wound was not that healed.

"I told you to be careful!" He holds her and furrowed a brow. This stubborn woman never listened! "How are you feeling now?" His gaze softened when he noticed her being in pain.

"I'm fine. Sorry." She showed him a coy smile which made him loosened his grip on her.

He then withdrew his hand and rubbed his temples. "What other things had you gone through?" He asked and when she gave him a confused look, he clarified, "I mean, apart from being shot twice."

Yelena thoroughly recalled her past missions as the leader of Team Delta and when she realized the first one among them, she debated if she should tell him. "I was once captured as a hostage by one terrorist organization. That's all." She replied with much reluctance.

"What?!" Felix flabbergasted. Did she just said that she was once captured by the enemies?! He stared at her with his eyes wide open, unable to believe what he just heard from his woman.

"It's only for two hours; so nothing much happened. Besides, it's all in the past. I am -"

"Only two hours?" He cut her off before she finished speaking. "Is that a joke to you? Anything can happen in two hours!" He snapped.

Yelena stood dazed, looking at the man. It was the first time he talked to her in such an angry manner. It was too sudden that she didn't know how to react.

Apart from her family and her uncle Maj. Gen. Lucas annoying nagging, no one had never talked to her in such a worried yet angry tone! Especially, regarding her life as a soldier from a Special Forces.

"I'm a soldier and above all, I'm the Captain who should lead my team." It was the only thing she could say to him as her mind went blank at the sudden confrontation.

Felix sighed. Does he went too far with his words? He was more than sure that being captured was not an unfamiliar thing when it comes to missions. He himself served in the Army for two years and he knows that much.

But what could he possibly do? He was worried sick about her! Will he be able to bear it if something happens to her after he returned to his homeland? Nothing was predictable and just the thought of it could make the Prince shuddered!

But whatever the case, asking her to give up her job was the last thing he wanted to do. He had seen with his own eyes, how she was devoted to her job and how she loved her job.

"I understand. But will you please be careful from now on? I don't want to hear the news of you being capture after I return to my country." He gave her a pleading look yet his voice was much calm than before. "If that happens, I think I will turn crazy before I could reach Silveren." Felix helplessly added in a low voice.

Yelena thought for a while and came up with something. She then glanced at him with a smile. "Okay. I will be careful but...I cannot promise you that it won't happen again. But I want you to remember what I'm about to say." She paused for a while and when she noticed him giving her complete attention, she continued, "Even if something happens to me, have faith in me. Believe that even if I'm stuck in a life and death situation, I will give my all and a little more just to make sure that I could see you again."

Felix gave a quick thought and said, "Okay. I promise you that." He stretched out his arms and aiming to lift the mood, he said, "Ah! I never thought that dating a soldier will be this hard and scary. Who knows? I may regret my decision very soon." He widely grinned to provoke her.

"If you do that, then you're dead." She knows him too well. He was simply trying to provoke her to have some fun. So, why wouldn't she also have some fun while threatening him?

"You can't say that." He was still grinning from ear to ear, but it was a malicious grin.

"Why can't I? I already warned you that I will shoot you if you ever disappoint me." She hinted, giving him a smirk.

"Woah! I didn't know you were serious at that time!" He faked a surprised face, pleading innocence.

"Well, just for your knowledge, let me remind you that I don't give a second chance. So, you must use your only chance well, Your Highness." A sweet smile plastered her beautiful face that made Felix gulped.

Why did her smile look like a mocking and challenging smile rather than the sweet one that she displayed? He looked at her confident manner and helplessly sighed.

He truly needed to level up! At this rate, he will completely be at her disposal in no time.....
