Lexus abruptly rose from his seat and look at Gina's head. It was only a simple movement but due to the fact that the latter didn't make any effort to move on her own ever since she regained her consciousness, it became a shocking scene!
The Brigadier stood dazed for a moment. Receiving her little physical response was enough to make him lose his mind! "Gina!" He finally called out her name. Sitting down and hold her hand once again, he had many things to say but he could barely utter the words. "You hear me, right? You know everything I say!" His voice almost stuttered due to joy.
Gina's expression was still the same but she never took her eyes off of him. That alone was enough to satisfy the Brigadier. "This is more than enough for now, Gina. Everyday, I will tell you stories that will cheer you up. I will make sure that you recover." His once dull and hopeless face was now brightened up with happiness.
The exact night, he told many stories from his past to Gina until the latter fall asleep.

It was 6 in the morning when the helicopter took off from the helipad in Agrana. The soldiers woke up very early in the morning and left their base before 4 a.m. as the ride to the helipad will take 2 hours.
After 4 hours of flying, the helicopter safely landed on the helipad in the base of the Rayvix Special Forces. They were welcomed by some military officials and their comrades. After some greetings, they were told to go home and rest for the day. They didn't get to sleep the other night as they were busy preparing for their departure.
Standing next to her red Wrangler Rubicon which was placed in the garage of the base, Yelena's lips curved into a smile. It had been a while since she drove this jeep. She truly liked this vehicle and she won't even allow to exchange it for the most expensive car in the world! "Let's go home." She muttered to herself and hopped inside her jeep.
While she was on her way to her apartment, she lay out her plan for the day in her mind. She will go home and rest first. Then she will visit her parent's house later in the evening. It was 11 a.m. and that could still be considered as early.
She reached her apartment building after half an hour drive and ride up the elevator to the 12th floor where her home was located. Maybe because of her tired body, just a huge backpack hanging on both her shoulders was enough to make the Captain exhausted.
She opened the door to her apartment and stepped inside. She immediately put down the heavy bag and shoved to the side. Now that the weight was lifted off of her shoulders, she finally sighed in relief.
The Captain planned to take a shower and have a nap right away but when something bothered her, she halted right away. As a trained special forces soldier, she had a great sense, be it hearing or spotting a thing. But this time, she sensed the presence of someone in her apartment.
Was it a thief or someone dangerous? She instantly takes out the pistol that was hanging on her waist. She had gotten used to such thing after spending years in the army.
She slowly approached her kitchen where she heard a sound. She was so careful that not even a single sound of her footsteps could be heard!
When she saw a figure standing on the kitchen, she tightened her grip on the pistol. "Who are you?" She asked as the man's back was facing him. She couldn't see his face so she still pointed him with her pistol.
The man slowly turned around with a stunned face. "Why are you here?" Noticing the pistol that was pointed on him, his eyes widened. "Hey! Are you planning to kill me? Put that away! It's dangerous." Felix shrieked.
Yelena suddenly realized that she was still pointing at her fiance with a gun and she put it down as fast as lightning. "Oh! Sorry. I thought you were a thief." She awkwardly responded. In fact, she was feeling quite embarrassed!
"If I was a thief, will you shoot me? Do you plan to be a murderer?" Felix grunted. He still finds it hard to believe that he was pointed with a gun, by his fiancee on top of that!
"I won't even need to use a gun. I will be able to take you down easily by hand." She suddenly realized that he was not expected to be here at all! "How come you're here?! Didn't you tell me that you won't be able to make it this week?" She gave him a doubtful look.
Felix frowned at her words. "Didn't you also promised me to call as soon as you landed in Silveren? I prepared so much to surprise you but you ruined it all." He uttered with a displeased face.
Her eyes swept around the kitchen - eggs, flour and many necessary items to bake a cake were lying all over the place! She realized that he indeed put in many efforts to welcomed her yet she forgot to make a call. As soon as they landed, they were surrounded by their comrades and superiors who didn't even give them time to talk!
When he saw her standing still with an apologetic face, he could barely resist the urge to laugh! He finds her too adorable! Did she really think that he would be upset with her?
He couldn't vow that he won't ever be angry at her but if it ever happened, the cause will have to be very big! Maybe strong enough to create chaos in both of their lives!
He finally let out a chuckle as he decided to not make her feel bad. He widely opened his arms for her to rely on. "Welcome back, my love." He said to her with a genuine smile on his face so she would notice that he was not upset at all.
She saw his arms that were opened just for her and she couldn't resist it. She had always missed his embrace that never failed to warm up her heart. She ran to him and hugged him. She smiled when she felt the same warm that he always provided her.
She wrapped her arms around his body and he did the same. He chuckled when he felt her grip on his body that was becoming tighter and tighter. "Take it easy, my dear. I'm not going anywhere." He whispered in her ear.
"I missed you." She muttered while burying her face in his chest. Not being able to saw him for days; it was harder than she could imagine! Besides, even her survival was not guaranteed just days ago.
"Much more than you do." He grabbed her on the upper arm and create a little distance between them. "Let me look at you. Are you hurt anywhere?" He observed him carefully like he always did and that made her laugh.
"I'm fine. Though I'm a soldier, I don't get hurt all the time." She jokingly replied which finally made him sighed in relief. He was so worried that she would get hurt again.
He lifted her hand and smiled. "Is this the hand that brought peace to the poor people?" He planted a kiss on it.
His small gesture made her burst out into a laughter. "How did you know how to do that? Do you watch a movie?" She teased him.
Felix shook his head. "It's just that I'm so proud of my fiancee who fights for the weak and the people." His face beamed with pride.
"You sure know how to make me speechless." She chuckled and then scanned the kitchen once again. "What are you preparing? I hope you're not cooking."
Felix sighed. She won't stop making fun of him when it comes to cooking! He wrapped his hand around her shoulder and showed her the oven. "Look. I'm currently baking a welcome cake for you. Don't worry. I bet that it will be edible." He explained with a proud smile.
"Well, I will only comment after I taste it." She playfully said which made him frowned. She always doubted him whenever food was concerned!
"Fine. Go and do whatever you need to do. The cake will be done soon." He said and pushed her out of the kitchen.
Yelena went to her room, took a shower and then came out again. By that time, cake and some juice were already served in the table of the living room.
"I personally prefer some drinks but it won't be suitable for you, so I decided to go with the juice. Besides, you also want to visit your parent's house. You shouldn't go there after drinking, right?" Felix said and made her sit on the couch.
"Oh! I still don't inform my parents. Should I call and tell them that we are going there together?" Yelena asked.
He sat beside her and held her hands. "Let's give them a surprise. It will be fun."
"You love surprises, don't you?" Yelena let out a light chuckle yet she admitted that it was not a bad idea.
Having a chat over the cake, the couple spent a happy time in the afternoon. Putting aside all their worries, they spent their time to the fullest like they always did.....
