Slowly opening his eyes, the Prince finds himself on the rooftop room, sleeping on his fiancee's lap. His eyes suddenly grew wide! What time was it?!
He glanced at his wristwatch and instantly frowned. It's 8:15 a.m. That means they were here the whole night! He realized that Yelena was sleeping without having anything to support her head. She tilted her head to the left and it made him wonder how long had she slept like this. Her neck might be very sore now!
He noticed her gradually opening her eyes and he quickly gets up, finally lifting his weigh off her thighs. Then he holds her.
With half-opened eyes, Yelena turned to the right and saw him. "Did you sleep well? You seem to be tired." She mumbled. He finds her so adorable that his lips curved into a smile.
"I sleep well, thanks to you. But... " He gently pressed both of her shoulders. "I think your neck and shoulders pay the price." His tone was playful yet there was a ghost of worry on his face.
"I used to sleep in a way more uncomfortable position than this. Compared to those, this is nothing." Yelena simply said as she stretched her neck.
"During missions?" Felix mused. "I think I underestimate you once again." He jokingly remarked which earned him a chuckle from her.
"Did you realized that only now?" Yelena asked as she glanced at her wristwatch. Her eyes suddenly flew wide open, all her sleepy eyes disappeared as if they were never there!
"Oh no!" She gasped. "It's already 8!" She exclaimed and jumped up from her seat.
Felix slowly rose from his seat. He was not that bothered by the time but her reaction made him flustered. "It's not that late." He simply said, confused.
Yelena frowned and fixed her hair. "Did you already forget that we are supposed to have breakfast with your parents? It was scheduled for 8 in the morning!" It's her first time here yet she messed up!
Much to Yelena's frustration, Felix was still very calm. "That's not a big deal. We will only be late by a few minutes." He simply commented.
"Your Highness, do you know what a soldier like me hated the most? People who are not punctual!" Yelena grunted and before he could speak, she pulled him out of the room and they took the elevator downstairs.
"I will inform my parents. You can take your time." Felix said when he noticed her nervously glancing at the floor number displayed on the elevator.
Then the elevator door opened and much to their surprise, the King and the Queen were standing there, raising a brow at them!
Stepping out of the elevator, Yelena could felt the pressure rising inside her as each second passed! What an unfortunate encounter!
"Why are you standing here?" Felix asked, scanning the area. He didn't see anyone else apart from his parents.
"You both are missing so the guards searched for you everywhere." King Lawrence spoke up. "Your mother said you might be in the rooftop room and we are on our way to check. But don't get us wrong. We only plan to knock, not enter the room." The King quickly clarified. He knew how sensitive his son was, whenever that room was concerned.
"I showed the rooftop room to Yelena but we somehow fell asleep. We just came down from there." Felix said, slightly smiling at Yelena as a way to assure her.
"You bring her to that room?" The Queen uttered with disbelief. Even she had never entered that room! She didn't even know how it looked like!
"Yeah. We are already engaged. What belongs to me is also hers now. It's only fair to bring her there." Felix responded.
Queen Nicola turned her head to Yelena who remained quiet the whole time. "Do you sleep well?" She asked. Her voice calm and gentle.
"Yes, I do." Yelena glanced at the parents. "We're sorry for making you worry. Did you wait long?" She asked, apologetically.
"It's fine. You are not that late." The Queen smiled and glanced at her husband.
"Take your time and come down to the dining room when you're ready. We will inform the guards that we find you two." King Lawrence said and then walked downstairs with his wife.
The moment the royal couple were gone, Yelena let out a breath which she didn't even know she was holding.
"You are worried for nothing," Felix said and laughed. It's rare to see her this nervous!
The already frustrated Yelena glared at him. "Just go to your room and prepared yourself for breakfast." She clicked her tongue and walked to her room.
Shooking his head as he smiled, Felix walked away in the direction where his room was located.
Breakfast was light and fun just like last night's dinner. They chat and talked about many things, including marriage. Yelena was asked many questions but all of them were simple and fun. The King and Queen asked her many questions regarding her childhood and also her family.
After having breakfast, Yelena and Felix got changed and left the palace to hang out. Sitting in the back seat of the car, Felix tilted his head to the Captain who was really enjoying the view of the streets through the car windows.
He sighed, thinking of their destination. "Do you really prefer to hang out in the villa? I have many places in mind which you would love to see." A hint of disappointment on his face.
Yelena nodded her head but her gaze was still fixated on the outdoors. "It's too risky out there. Let's visit other places after we make our relationship official. For now, we have no time to deal with rumours and articles."
Felix wondered how long would they wait for that. He heavily sighed again as frustration tormented him.
The couple reached the villa after an hour drive. Standing in front of the huge villa, they exchanged glances with one another. It was almost 11 a.m. and they don't have much time. The Captain must return to Silveren in the evening.
"Do you have something in mind? Why this villa?" Felix asked, puzzled.
"When we were in my family villa, I was not strong enough due to my injury. But now that I'm healthy and well, I have many things on mind." She tilted her head to Felix who looked at her with confusion. Maybe he was convinced that there was nothing fun to do in this villa.
His eyes grew wide when she said, "Lead me to your shooting range."
"What?!" Felix gasped. Was this what she had in mind? A date with guns?!
"My team members told me that you said you are good at shooting. I want to see it myself." Yelena excitedly said. It had been a while since she wished to witness him shooting guns! What's more? The fun would be doubled if she wins against him!
Felix recalled himself saying that on the Peace Day. What a good brain they have! With displeased written all over his face, he still led her to the indoor shooting range.
Different types of pistols were displayed on the showcase and they were also ready to use. Observing the handguns, Yelena's lips curved into an amusing smile. "Ruger .22, Glock 44 .22LR, Glock G48, FN 509, Ruger 57... " She paused and glanced at the Prince. "Quite a collection you have here." She smiled, appraisingly.
"The one in charge of this range is adamant in collecting good handguns," Felix replied, impassive.
"Then what will you choose?" Yelena asked, waving her hand before the handguns.
Felix stood before the showcase and observed the guns for a while. "I don't have much knowledge of this field." Taking the one on the upper left, he uttered, "I will just go with this."
"Glock G48. You have a great taste." Yelena commented and picked the one on the lower right. "I will go with Ruger 57."
"Do you love shooting that much?" Felix mused. He noticed the twinkle in her eyes when she gets her hand on the handgun.
Keenly observing Ruger 57 on her hand, Yelena replied, "Yes. It's fun as long as the end of the muzzle is not pointed on a living being, especially humans." She was too invested in the handgun that she didn't notice the change in his expression. His amusing smile was gone.
When he was too quiet, she finally turned her attention to him and realized that he was blankly staring at the pistol in her hand.
"Why? Do you wonder how many people have met their ends through the guns triggered by this hand?" She slightly lifted her right index finger which was used for triggering. "During my two years as an Army Officer, it's 23 including those terrorists from Agrana." She muttered and turned her head away.
"You remembered?" He asked and took a step towards her.
Yelena loaded and fire the handgun to test as there was still no bullet in it. "I think most soldiers will remember. It's not easy to forget the number of people we killed, no matter how much they sinned. A soldier is also a human with feelings and a guilty conscience."
She turned to him again when he remained quiet. She couldn't read his mind. Then she forced a little smile. "Shall we start?"
