Chapter 139 - Why Are You Doing This?

His psychotic smile and the way he addressed her. It was hard not to be stupefied for the Captain. Her eyes grew wide at the revelation!

"You... Do you kidnapped me?" Yelena uttered with disbelief written all over her face. This dark side of Alonzo was the fact that never once crossed her mind!

"You're shocked, right? I love to see that face." Alonzo narrowed his eyes at Yelena and played with his fingers. "You must really love my cousin. You even trust me blindly and that smoothened my plan." He remarked with a grin.

"You're Felix's cousin! Why are you doing this?" Yelena might be flustered but she didn't feel fear. She had gone through many things worse than this.

"Well, " Alonzo started, rubbing the side of his face. "He's my cousin and that's why I'm doing this."

Yelena struggled to break free once again but she was far from doing that. She couldn't even muster up her energy. She felt so weak and tired!

"That won't work so I advise you to save your energy. I'm well aware of your skills and experiences. That's why I instructed my men to inject that drug in your veins. It will make you weak and you won't have the energy to break free, let alone running away." Alonzo said as he sat in a chair before her. His gaze fixated on her as if he was observing her.

"You're very beautiful, Yelena. You're too good for Felix. Besides, he is happy because of you and I hate that." Prince Alonzo remarked. His face was devoid of any expression.

"You are the one who killed Cara Laria?" Yelena asked. She still finds it hard to believe that this was the true nature of the seemingly mischievous and childish Alonzo. Was all that an act?

At the mention of the deceased woman, the Prince's face was darkened. Many different emotions were seen on his face - anger, guilt, pain and more.

"I only broke her free from Felix. She suffered so much because she loved that selfish man. I cannot see it anymore and I end her pain." Blankly staring at the floor, he muttered, "Do you know this? Five years ago and even now, she is still the only woman I love. Yet she pushed me away for the man who only knew how to hurt her."

"That is not love, Alonzo. It's greed and a poisonous obsession. You will never kill her if you truly loved her." Yelena spatted. His words disgusted her so much!

Like a madman, Alonzo suddenly rose from his seat and grabbed Yelena in her shirt just below her neck. He was too tempted to choke her but he barely holds back himself. "If you say that again, you will regret it." His face was all red due to his suppressed anger.

Showing no fear, Yelena met his gaze the whole time and after a few seconds, he finally withdrew his hand and smiled. "I love your courageous nature." He commented as he gently rubbed her shoulders. Then he retreated back to his chair.

"Do you know why I reveal myself and tell you all these? It's because I plan to kill you too. I want to see my cousin in despair again." Alonzo rubbed the side of his head again and smiled. "But I think it will be fun to keep you alive. I can just make you my captive for the rest of your life. What's more? Felix will be crazy about searching you but he will never find you. The fun part will be that I will watch him suffer for the rest of his life."

He stared at her carefully, wondering how she would react but she smirked at him.

"Do you think whatever you say will scare me? I'm sorry but you're wrong. I'm not afraid of you or your threat. You should know better than to kidnap an Army Captain."

Yelena knew what people like him think. He loved to see the sufferings of others. He wanted to see fear in her face. He wanted her to beg for mercy but she won't give him such pleasure!

Thinking of Felix, she didn't want to die but she had no intention to hold back herself from provoking this psychopath! She was so disgusted by people with a sick mindset like him!

Alonzo chuckled at her words. "Don't worry. If I am to let you live, we will have plenty of time and I will make sure to teach you what to fear. It is just a matter of time before you grovel on your knees and beg for mercy. Trust me. I have experience in this."

Somehow, Alonzo was reminded of Gina Larson. The latter was also once a headstrong woman but he molded her into an obedient puppet. She used to be very bold but now, she would shiver at the sight of him. His disappointed expression alone could bring her to her knees! He was confident that he could shape this bold Captain into an obedient one just like Gina Larson.

He rose from his seat and stood just before her. Her sharp eyes only made him felt more thrilled. It would be more than fun to tame her. He reached out his hand and touched her face with the back of his hand. She turned her head away from him and it only entertained him more.

As she was bound on a chair, he bent down to match her height and his lips were next to her ear. "Don't worry. Though you are quite a beauty, I won't touch you as I only have one woman in my heart. I will only teach you some manners." He whispered.

Standing straight, he narrowed his eyes at her and smiled again. "Good night, sister-in-law." He turned his back on her and left the dark warehouse.

Her helplessness was driving the Captain crazy! She wanted to break free but she can't gather her strength at all! She could barely move her fingers! She never felt as vulnerable as she did now!

When her scheduled meeting with Colonel Maverick crossed her mind, her eyes flew wide open. Damn! She mustn't miss the meeting no matter what! Her bag and even her wristwatch were seized and she didn't even know how long she remained unconscious. Was this the end of her?

When negative feelings crossed her mind, she immediately brushed them off. No! She won't give up! Even if she can't do anything, someone will look for her. She won't lose hope no matter what!

When Felix crossed her mind, her heart hurt so much! If he finds out the truth, he will be heartbroken by his cousin's true nature!

* * *

It was 8 p.m. in Edeladon and Felix was alone in his room. Quietly sitting in the armchair next to the fireplace like he always did, he blankly stared at the fire.

He went to see Cayden's corpse in the evening and it only added his pain. What if he didn't send him back to his family? Will he still be alive? These two questions haunted him since he heard the news of his death. From the wounds on Cayden's body and the autopsy report, it was confirmed that he was stabbed to death. It's a murder.

He was too troubled by the death that he couldn't think of anything else. When the thoughts became too much, he sighed and wiped his face with his palms. When he narrowed his eyes at his hands, the ring on his finger made him hit by a realization.

Shit! He hadn't called Yelena since the afternoon! Will she be worried about him? Feeling the rush, he quickly takes out his phone from his pocket. He was surprised when there were no missed calls or messages from her. Was she busy?

He decided to try calling her but when he did, he finds out that it was switched off. What was this? She never switched off her phone unless she was in a place that has none or an unstable connection. The unusual thing made him a bit anxious.

After he gave a quick thought, he called her family if they knew her whereabouts. He talked with Major General Ethan but the latter told him that there was no urgent mission today. The father didn't know her whereabouts either but it was a common thing. Yelena only told them if she has a mission abroad. They didn't know about her daily life.

Major Ethan sent someone to check Yelena's apartment and when he called back the Prince, it was 7 p.m. in Silveren and 9 p.m. in Edeladon.

Felix was told that Yelena was still not home and by this time, he already grew so anxious. The father was not feeling that great either. He recalled the video he watched the day before. Did something happen to his daughter?

Major General Ethan told Felix that he would send his men to search for his daughter. He also told him not to be too worried.

Putting down the phone, Felix couldn't be still at all. With the enemy around, even a small matter would scare him when it comes to Yelena but this... it's not a small matter!

Trying to check once more, he called Ella. The latter told her that Yelena went home early. She left the base in the afternoon.

Now, anxiety rushed through his whole body! Should he fly to Silveren right away? But he needs 6 hours to reach there? What if he was too late? No! He didn't even want to think about it! He never hated the distance between them as much as he did now!

When one person came to his mind, he lifted his phone and dialled one phone number right away.

"Hello, Lexus. I need your help."
