Chapter 198 - The Perseverance Of A Young Captain

The biggest ever internal incident in the Silveren Army covered the world like a rapid-fire. Once again, Yelena finds herself in the centre of attention.

Countless articles were published all over the world. Among all the articles, one caught the attention of many.

'Silveren is saved by the perseverance of a young Captain and her comrades who aid her.'

If a military regime was ever imposed in their country, the Silveren citizens discussed. Thinking about the condition of some countries who suffered such a fate; this alone was enough to make the people gritted their teeth in anger. There would surely be an internal war everyday and countless lives would be sacrificed!

The citizens didn't even want to think further. Besides, that's not necessary anymore as they were saved now. Who would have thought that the unconditional love a woman had for her late brother would end up saving the whole country from falling into a bottomless pit?!

However, they didn't just talk about this because the identity of the young Captain was the one that shocked the world, Edeladon in particular.

'The fiancee of our Crown Prince is a fascinating woman. She's one of a kind.' That's what the Edeladons thought. Even those who objected her due to her identity were now singing praises of her for the same reason.

However, Captain Yelena was quietly sitting alone in her room despite getting the attention of the whole world. Her face was just blank while she buried herself deep in her thoughts until... she was aroused by the knocking on her door.

"Come in."

Much to her surprise, Felix walked inside. She wondered when he got here.

"When did you come?" She asked, greeting him with a little smile.

"A few minutes ago. I have a chat with your father." The Prince responded and sat beside her.

"Is he rude to you?" Yelena asked with a hint of concern on her face.

The Prince shook his head. "It's the opposite. He apologized for what he did."

"Really?" Yelena finds it hard to believe it. Her father apologized? Was that really possible?!

"He's still your father no matter what kind of person he is. So, he loves you." Felix calmly said to her.

"I know that." The Captain muttered.

"You don't have to work today, right? Let's go to the hospital and visit your mother."

Her mother? Yelena wasn't confident. Her mother would surely hear the news as everyone was talking about the incident right now. The Captain was afraid that her mother would be in a shock. The surgery was performed not long ago and the news would surely take a toll on her mother's health.

When she was about to file the case, she was in a hurry because if the enemies find out about it, she and others will be in a predicament. That's why nothing else couldn't cross her mind at that time. Now, she had to deal with the aftermath.

"Alright." She agreed as she knew that she had to do it sooner or later. So, it's better to face it now.

They left the mansion together and just as expected, the reporters already started gathering and it made Felix sighed in annoyance. There weren't here when he arrived. How come this much managed to gather in such a short time?!

Nevertheless, his guards and the security guards of the mansion pave way for them to leave despite the countless questions of the reporters.

The hospital was quite peaceful compared to the Arista family mansion and the couple entered it without much difficulty. However, curious stares never left them wherever they went. All they could do was ignore them.

When they reached the door to her mother's hospital room, Yelena suddenly halted which instantly made Felix turned to her. "Are you feeling nervous?" He asked.

Yelena nodded. "I'm afraid that her condition would get worse. She started to recover but what if - "

"Your mother will be stronger than you thought, Yelena. So, trust in her. She will surely be able to cope with it. What's more, the one who committed the crimes is caught now."

"As long as you stay strong, your mother won't break down. You should believe that." The Prince said to her calmly yet earnestly.

After remaining quiet for a while with a narrowed eyes, Yelena nodded and finally opened the door.

The internal of the room appeared on the scene and the Captain didn't expect her mother to have a visitor right now. It was Jason Moravsky who was sitting beside her mother's bed, talking to her mother. It's not just that, there was a friendly and warm smile on her mother's face!

Hearing the sound of the door being opened, Mrs. Arista shifted her gaze to the door and there was a relieving smile on her face. "You finally came." She muttered and glanced at the Prince who was still a step behind. "I'm so glad to see you again, Felix." Jason Moravsky rose from his seat and slightly bowed.

Felix holds Yelena's hand and pulled her towards the bed. "Seems like you're doing well, Mother. You should recover soon." He said, glancing down at Mrs. Arista who was lying on the bed.

"I will." The mother said with a warm smile. "When did you come to Silveren?"

"Yesterday. I should have come sooner but you know, business is very unpredictable." Felix promptly replied with a sigh.

"I know but you're great. You will surely do a great job." Mrs. Arista said with a nod and looked at her daughter. "Why did you just stand without saying anything? Don't you come to visit me?"

Yelena glanced at her mother but it was very brief as she turned to Jason. "You're here too. Is everything going well at the company?"

Jason promptly nodded. "You don't have to worry. I will work hard in your place."

"Jason is busy with all the work but he still finds the time to visit me everyday." Mrs. Arista remarked.

Yelena slightly raised a brow. "It won't be easy to do that. Anyway, thanks for taking care of both my mother and the company."

"You don't have to thank me. I'm only doing my job. Besides... " Jason turned to the Chairwoman with a little smile before he turned back to Yelena. "Once your mother recovered, she will be the busiest one again."

"He always brought up work and urged me to recover soon. He is quite a headache." Vanessa Arista sighed and shook her head.

"It's all for your own good, Chairwoman," Jason said with a smile. "Your daughter is here, so I'll leave now. I have to work."

"Alright. However, don't work too hard. I know you're a workaholic but you should also rest from time to time." Mrs. Arista said as if she was a mother who was worrying about her son.

"I will remember that," Jason said and walked out of the room. After he walked past the door, he glanced at the room through the glass portion of the door. When he saw Mrs. Arista talking to the couple with a smile, there was a subtle smile on his lips. Turning around, he let out a breath and left the hospital.

"I can never understand you, Mother," Yelena said, breaking her silence. "You don't say anything to me and it's unlike you."

"When you said that you have to return to the Forces right away to deal with an important thing, I already think through this, Yelena." Mrs. Arista said in a low voice. "You promised to take care of the company until I recovered but you change your mind which was unlike you. What other else would the reason be apart from Marvin?"

The Captain's eyes flickered at her mother's last sentence. "What do you mean?" She asked. Her confusion was written all over her face.

Mrs. Arista shifted her gaze from her daughter and narrowed her eyes. "I see that video on your apartment. You must have tried hard to keep it from me."

The Captain's eyes grew wide and she abruptly sat on the bench beside her mother's bed while Felix was flustered by the change in situation.

"You saw that? Does it mean... " She paused and recalled how her mother was suddenly brought to the hospital that day. "That video was the one that triggered your heart disease and left you in a coma." She stated the thing that crossed her mind.

"I saw it by mistake." Vanessa Arista muttered.

"You never told me even when I asked you why your condition suddenly got worse. I spent many days thinking about it. Why don't you tell me? Why don't you ask me any questions?" The Captain's voice was desperate and she glanced at her mother, demanding an answer.

The gruesome video that was in her possession was the one that worsened her mother's condition! Why didn't she know anything about it?!

Staring at her daughter quietly for a while, Mrs. Vanessa finally spoke up. "Do I have any right to ask you?" She muttered in a low voice, nervously clenching her fingers. "I was the one who never believes you during all those years."
