Jordan Carter was on a role. He had walked away with three Grammys, two Teen Choice Awards and one MTV Award. This, of course, was cause for celebration. Ryan went all out for the party and the who's who of showbiz were all invited. Lana stayed faithfully by his side and basked in his glory. She still hadn't told him the news and was getting more anxious as the days passed by.
They were at his celebration party and at least she didn't have to explain to him why she wasn't drinking. Ever since Preston died, he had cut down on his drinking and stopped smoking anything and everything. He had embarked on an anti-drug campaign and mental health; going around schools and educational institutions promote the primary prevention of drug abuse and educating them on the dangers.
Lana was on her way to the bathroom and stopped abruptly when she saw Jordan and Lexie against the wall. She couldn't hear what they were saying but she didn't like the way Lexie's hands were all over her man, but from where she was standing he didn't seem to mind.
"Did you miss me JC?" she ran her hands down his chest and he tried to push her away but she leaned into him even more.
"Lexie come on. You know that I'm a married man now-"
"Sooo... I won't tell if you don't.." she said as she moved her big breasts against his chest and pressed her lips firmly against his, catching him completely off-guard.
"Lexie STOP!" Jordan noticed Lana standing behind them and he pushed Lexie back forcefully. "Lana-
Lana held up her hand and broke into a run. "Lana wait! It's not what you think!" He ran after her but was waylaid by so many people on the way; they were offering their congratulations and he didn't want to seem rude so he murmured his thanks and went in search of her.
He searched all over but he couldn't find her. Her phone went straight to voicemail and he decided to go and check back home.
"Look Ry-I've got to go. I can't find Lana-she's upset-she saw-I'm sorry but I need to go." he raked his hair and sighed in frustration.
"It's okay. I got this. Do what you need to do JC." He patted Jordan on the back as he reassured him.
"Where's Jones?"
"Waiting in the car."
"Okay. We'll talk later." Jordan ran out to the main entrance of the hotel and sure enough, Jones was waiting to ferry him away.
"What happened back there?" Jones asked as the sped home.
"Lexie backed me into a corner and I-I told her that we were done but she kept coming at me and-" Jordan grabbed his hair with both hands, "she forced herself on me-she kissed me-and Lana was standing there-watching the whole time! Then she ran when I noticed she was there-and I couldn't find her..somehow she got lost in the crowd and- I'm so screwed Jay!"
"Breathe.." Jones said in a soothing tone. "We will find her and then you can explain everything to her... After she has calmed down of course."
"I was supposed to propose tonight Jay..this is not the way this night was supposed to end.." he said in dismay as he fingered the diamond ring in his pocket.
"I know. Don't lose hope yet..we still have time to fix this okay?"
"I need to find her! I can only imagine what she's thinking.." he put his fist in his mouth and bounced his knee.
"We'll find her. She couldn't have gone far." How wrong he was.

Lana drove straight to the airport when she left the party. She knew Jordan would think that she rushed home to lick her wounds but not this time. She was going to go as far away from him as possible. Fortunately, her passport was in her purse after she got it renewed yesterday and she had access to Jordan's millions.
How could she have been so foolish as to believe that he-Jordan 'freakin' Carter-had actually changed? People like him didn't change-did they? He had played her and she had admitted that he did it so well...she was convinced that he really and truly loved her. It was just as well she hadn't told him she was pregnant because clearly, he still wanted to have his fun and didn't want to be in a committed relationship and yet alone be a father.
"I'd like a flight out?" Lana looked behind her nervously; she expected Jordan to come charging through the doors at any minute.
"Where to Ma'am?" The attendant at La Guardia Airport asked as Lana handed her her passport.
"Anywhere! I need to leave right away-are there any fights taking off now?"
"Just give me one minute to clarify Mrs Carter." The assistant's fingers flew over the keyboard. We have a flight to Ayia Napa, that's about to leave right now if-"
"I'll take it!" Lana handed her the credit card.
"Here you go Mrs Carter. You've got to hurry though. The flight is about to take-" Lana grabbed her boarding pass and rushed to the security checkpoint.
Meanwhile, Jordan was going out of his mind trying to find her and was on his way to Maya's to check if maybe Lana was hiding out there. How did such a beautiful night turn out to be such a nightmare? He thought he had everything in place-and he did-but a spanner was thrown in the works and he didn't know how to fix it.
Just when he thought Lana trusted him and their relationship was on solid ground; she ran at the first sign of trouble. She didn't even give him a chance to explain-to make things right-she just took off.
That's the part that hurt the most..the fact that she didn't trust him. Would she ever get past her insecurities and believe in him? Believe in their love? Right now he doubted that very much.
