Chapter 110 - Public Apology

A shocking news have spread across the city this morning! My mind was clouded with so much thoughts and questions because it's so sudden! It's been 3 days and I thought there would be any news about the case anymore. I thought it was already close since Shawn has compensated for all the damages that they have done!

Everything was also back to how it used to be and Noah was planning to get back on work today!

"Oh my god! You're all over the news girl!" Sam was here beside me, we're currently walking on the sidewalk towards the pedestrian lane when she saw the news on her phone.

I was surprised too so I immediately checked my phone earlier. A bit my lower lip as I watched Shawn being interviewed by the press inside his office.

He looked well now. There's no marked of him being a suspect of our shop once. He's even smiling which made my blood boil even more.

"What the--" Sam covered her mouth as Shawn deeply apologized to me in the interview.

I played with my nails as I watched him on the live video.. I can't believed he's doing this now!

I don't know but there's a part of me that is relieved because the world finally knows that he did something bad with my image but I still don't feel contented..I feel like there's still part of me that is missing..

"He doesn't even look sincere! He was like forced to do this. Asshole!" She took the phone away from me. "Don't watch it! He's just a pretentious jerk!"

"But at least he already apologized on public.." I forced a smile but deep inside I wanted to shout.

I wanted to shout at his face for being insincere for everything. To me and to Noah..

"You do have a point but he's an asshole!" She pursed her lips and dragged me towards the opposite lane.

"You can go there alone now?" He asked in a worried way. She's still holding my hand like she's not gonna let me go if I can't make it alone.

Sam is also a busy person but she's making an effort to accompany me to anything that will make it hard for me. She's just right there giving me her time..

"Yeah, of course! You can go bitch. I'll be fine!" I even chuckled to convince her.

Her face looked hesitated like she's not believing in me. She shook her head and let go of hand.

"I know if you're lying bitch. Come on!"

"I'm fine, Sam. I have to go now, Noah's waiting for me," I pinched her cheek. "Bye!"

She pouted. I know she wants to send me until we reach there but I didn't want to become a burden to her. I know she has her own life now and she needs to deal with it too.

"Call me if something's not okay, okay?" She shouted so I put my hand to the air and gestured 'okay' and nodded.

I returned it with a smile before we started to part ways. I used the other part of me to see Noah since I didn't see him yesterday. I kinda missed my baby..

I also told him to just wait for me on the shop since he's busy organizing some stuffs that we left there. I know he's fixing everything for the sake of everyone.

I can't help but smile when I reached the front of the shop. I feel like I missed to work and they way I put my life here. I'm a bit excited!

I slowly opened the door and looked around. I roamed my eyes around to see the whole shop. It suddenly gives me the relief feeling that everything was back to normal now. That we've finally save it from the hands of his father and Shawn.

My heart also melt when I saw how he put up everything in my desk. My stuffs are so well-organized and clean! He even placed a welcome sign on the wall behind. My eyes watered as I feel his love for this simple shop. His love for his employee and his love for his work.

"You're here." I heard a baritone voice ahead of me so I immediately turn my eyes of him.

I was still smiling when our eyes met. I missed him so bad..

The sleepiness in his eyes suddenly replaced with a happiness when he started to step forward to hug me. I giggled when he pouted like a kid.

"I missed you.." He whispered and hugged me tighter. "I missed you too." I bit my lower lip. Damn, it's good to be back!

We pulled away after that and this time he gave me a wide smile that's telling me that everything's going back to how it used to be now.

"Thank you for being with me in this fight. We've been through so much but you remained on my side," He caressed my face while our bodies are still attached to each other.

"I didn't do that much. You've work hard for this.. You're the bravest boss in this whole world!"

He chuckled because of that. I pouted when his eyes shined as he stared at me. Oh god.

"Thanks for complimenting but I can never do that without your trust," He crossed his arms and looked down to face me.

He's just too tall to do this, gosh!

"Okay, okay! Let's go to work?" I asked. My heart was racing very fast!

He chuckled and started to instruct me all the changes that he did to our policy and to our way of receiving so much customers. He even gave me a copy of the schedule of our receiving time and to how to put up with rude customers.

I can't help but to feel worried when I saw the black circles around his eyes which indicates that he haven't got his sleep. But I'm still amazed that he still looked energized and fine as he joke around me.

"Alright! That's enough, then!" I gestured my hand so he would finally stop.

"I'm not done yet," He answered.

"I can read the manual, okay?" I stood up to push him inside his office.

"But--"

"You need to rest first! I'm sure you didn't sleep last night!" I glared at him as soon as he sat on the sofa.

"I'm used to this, Raine. This is the kind of life that I had before--"

"But not anymore!" I walked towards him and force him to lay on it. I even reached for a pillow and placed it behind his head.

He didn't even complain as I let him stay like that for a while. Good thing, there's a mini cabinet inside his office so we could place our essential things there like comforters and pillows so I immediately take it and placed the comforter around his body.

"You should sleep for hours, Sir! Don't abuse your body!" I glared at him.

He laughed a bit and gave me a slight nod.

"I will, Ma'am."

I smirked as I find him cute. I left him there and went to my table.

"So obedient, hmm." I giggled before start working.

I felt relieved as I saw all the files that have been stolen before. It feels light in the feeling.

After a few hours, I received so much calls from the clients which is very tiring especially that I'm working my myself. I also didn't want to wake Noah so I've endured all the tiredness that I'm feeling right now.

I even dozed off after I finished all the works. I just woke up with his calls..

"Wake up, Raine.. Come on, I'll send you home so you could rest," I rubbed my eyes and looked at my wrist watch.

I'm surprised that it's past 7 now. When I turn my eyes at him, he looked so worried and guilty.

"Sorry. I let you do the work alone." His eyes looed so guilty. "I shouldn't sleep that long.."

Why is he blaming himself again?

My brows furrowed as I fixed myself to face him properly. I didn't want him to feel that especially that I chose to give him time to rest.

"I'm tired but It's not your fault. Actually, I enjoyed it Noah." He stiffed a bit.

I chuckled and nodded, saying that what I've said was actually true.

Well, it's really true. I missed working and it's kind of refreshing being tired like this.

"But it feels terrible that I felt hungry," I pouted which made him laughed.

I caressed my stomach and pouted. It feels empty now. I remembered that I only ate some grilled tomato sandwich earlier.

Oh god. I didn't even noticed that I'm still working on my diet until now!

"Did you eat earlier?" He asked. He gave me a piercing eyes which actually made me laugh.

"Of course! I had some grilled tomato sandwich!"

"What else?" He arched a brow, still not convinced.

Damn.

I bit my lower lip and shook my head. "Nothing else.."

His eyes darkened so I suddenly felt nervous. He hates it when I'm skipping my meals and this time I think he doesn't feel contented to what I've eat earlier.

He stood up and went inside his office. After a few seconds, he's already wearing his coat.

"Let's go," He walked towards me and helped me with my stuffs.

"Where are we headed to?" I asked, looking confused because he seemed like rushing.

"We're going to eat," He said in a serious tone and carried my bag with him.

He intertwined our fingers and headed outside together. I just pouted while watching him being serious all of a sudden.

"Stop staring or I'll kiss you here." He smirked at me before staring the engine leaving my mouth parted to what he said.
