Chapter 26 - Ch 26 : Flower Dungeon

A week has passed since the dinner with Ellen, and during that days, Ray kept the farming and feeding cycle, trying to raise his monster's level to 10.

His bodyguard duty with Ellen also hasn't started yet, as the adopting process took almost a month to be done, and Elin was currently still staying in the orphanage.

[ DING!!! Chicken number 10 has reached level 10. Please increase your dungeon level further before you could increase the level beyond 10.]

" Finally!" Ray sighed some relief. He had been preparing this thing for more than a week, and now his plans could eventually be done.

He looked at his monsters and noticing all of them were at level ten, a smile surfaced on Ray's face.

" Guys, it's the time to challenge the red dungeon. Let's go!"

*Swoosh*

A portal suddenly appeared out of nowhere, and Ray came out from it.

This time, he chose to observe the situation first before summoning his monster. This red dungeon somehow gave him a creepy feeling, and he needed to make sure that it was safe before he would call his monster.

He looked at the scenery of the dungeon, and it seems the topic of today's dungeon was something like a ruin.

[ Reward: Exp +50% for this dungeon for the first month.]

' Strange...' Ray seems to be a bit confused this time.

Normally, a dungeon's name and its environment would be greatly correlated like the forest with the chicken or cow dungeon before.

But this dungeon...

Even though the name was Red-flower, there was no indication of it being a garden or forest. Instead, it was like an abandoned ruin with no trace of life in it.

Ray then chose to explore his surrounding for a while, and after 30 minutes, he didn't find any trace of monsters lurking around.

' This... even though it's a bit strange, but there should be no problem summoning them right now.'

He focused his mind, and soon, Freed, and the eleven chickens appeared from a portal behind him.

His army of monsters was ready to aid him in battle, and Ray felt a little bit safer now.

He waited for his energy to be fully recharged, then he led his chicken army to their first dungeon exploration together.

" Let's go."

This time, Ray didn't only explore his surrounding but went straight into the solo path of the dungeon.

Thirty minutes they walked straight, and there was still no traces of a monster. However, the creepy feelings kept getting stronger inside Ray.

' What the heck is this dungeon?' Even though the chicken dungeon also has a scarcity of monsters, Ray didn't have the strange feeling he had in this dungeon there.

The road forward kept getting wider, and suddenly.

*Zing*

Ray felt his danger-sense was roaring like mad, and when he found the location where it was the maddest, he discovered that it came from the side.

" Duck!!"

" Coop!" { I'm a chicken, not a duck, fuck you!}

*Swoosh* Crashhh!!!!!

" Coop?" { Ehhh?}

They looked at the side, and they noticed a big vine slamming the dungeon's sidewall.

The chickens were lucky that all of them were shorter than the range of the attack, but if not for Ray's warning, he and Freed would surely get fatal damage.

" Coop!" { What the hell is this, Boss?}

" Coop-Coop!" { Boss, I'm afraid.}

Looking at the big vine and its terrifying damage, the chickens were horrified. All their lives, they have never been in this such situation except when the battle with Ray and Freed, and now they could feel the threat of death was crawling on their bodies.

Their pride when they reached level ten was gone, and now they only wanted to quickly leave this strange place.

" Coop! { Boss, let's just quickly leave.}

" Sorry guys, but it was a bit too late. We have no other choices but to do this battle."

Ray summoned his Natal Weapon, "The Stone," and used appraisal at the vine.

Dang is two levels higher than his monsters, and it somehow explains its terrifying attack.

For awakeners and monsters, every ten levels have a barrier inside, and after they break the barrier in every ten levels, their strength will greatly soar.

" Let's go, formation alpha."

After the words fell, Ray quickly threw one of the pebbles in his hand to the vine, trying to get its aggro.

Ray himself was not the best Tank, but considering his danger-sense and Hawkeye skill, Ray has the highest dodge rate amongst them all. And thus, what he was currently trying to do was a dodge-Tank strategy like in one of the mobile games he had played before.

The pebble hits directly at the Red-Flower vine, and it seems Ray successfully attracted its Aggro.

*Swoosh* Another attack of the vines was launched, but Ray was able to beautifully dodge it with a somersault.

" Freed, launch some mid-range wind attack, and for the chickens, follow my instruction to attack it," Ray said while still in mid-air.

He adjusted his position, and then..

" Meteor Strike!"

He launched this attack with the Natal weapon in his hand, but this time, he used 9 parts of the pebbles as a single big stone, doing 9x the damage.

CRASHHH!!!!

The strike hit the vine, and Ray directly landed on top of it, somehow immobilizing it.

" Now! Multiple peck attack!" Ray instructed the chickens.

And following his instruction, the chickens rushed at the vine, pecking it with their mouth and dealing continuous damage, while Ray was trying to maintain his position on top of the vine.

Soon, the vine seemed to be struggling with all the damage dealt and was about to went crazy to retaliate.

" Chickens, in my instruction, move back ten meters, now!"

The chickens swiftly run away from the reach of the vine, leaving Ray one on one at the presence of the maddening vine.

" It seems it will go through the second phase.. What a shitty dungeon."
