"Tempest?"
"What are you doing here little lady? Aren't you supposed to be with Shadow and the others?"
Both Viper and Ripley simultaneously opened their mouths at the same time while Genesis just gave her a nod before walking to a corner and closed his eyes.
When she heard Ripley mentioning the word "Shadow" Tiera's ears quickly perked up in attention.
'They're with Shadow? That guy is so hard to reach cause he just ignores or blocks anyone who tries to add him, but I didn't expect that they actually know him, especially her, and I guess that's understandable with her capabilities'
'I really want to rope her in. A pity that she would only work as a mercenary'
"Well, Shadow stayed, while the rest except for me made their way to Sunrise Empire to join the crusade of exterminating the undead horde," said Solitary Tempest after a brief hug from Ripley.
Solitary Tempest started talking with Ripley, while Viper and Genesis stood on the opposite corners of the room, and three players who are not related to them just looked at them dumbfoundedly, especially looking at the name above the newcomer as they can't believe what they are seeing.
"Is...is that really Solitary Tempest!? Oh my god, I need to take a photo of this!" whispered a woman in priestess robes to herself and quickly used the system camera function to capture the moment.
"Should we get an autograph or something?" said a player wearing a knight's armor, who has an excited look on his face, completely starstruck.
"Oh please, can you two stop acting like that? You two are also among the rankers, what do you think your fans and followers will think when they see you two acting like this?" said a beautiful woman in purple magic robes, seemingly annoyed at the reactions of her two companions.
Especially when looking at those pairs of bouncing melons, and then at her almost flat chest, and as such, she couldn't help but be frustrated and bear some hostility because one big-b.r.e.a.s.ted woman is already hard to compete with and now there are two of them.
Just what you'd expect from a woman who likes the attention that men give them.
'And why does a woman of her caliber even doing here?' she thought as she really didn't want to share her limelight with another woman, especially when she's hotter than her.
"Shut it, Eve! Didn't you also hear that they are friends with Shadow? He's currently the rising star of the gaming industry whose levels are way ahead of the others, even the nine guild masters are behind him"
"A true dark horse!"
The knight quickly berated her when he realized the hostility within her words. After all, he didn't really want to make an enemy out of the people in front of them, especially when he had witnessed how skilled those three assassins were whom he had never even heard of before.
"Shut up Trevor, or I'll beat the shit out of you, you lil bastard!" Eve angrily pushed one of Trevor's shoulders.
"B*tch! Do you believe I won't PK you and make you drop your items!?" Trevor glared at Eve, his eyes blazing with annoyance when she raised her voice at him.
The two of them were so immersed in their bickering that they didn't even notice that the people inside the room are now staring at them, a little dumbfounded, while the priestess beside Trevor kept elbowing him to get his attention, but unfortunately, Trevor's anger reached an all-time high that he and Eve failed to notice their surroundings.
"Ahem!"
Tiera cleared her throat to get both of their attention, and both Eve and Trevor were startled and quickly looked around them, and they immediately felt embarrassed when they saw the multiple pair of eyes looking at them.
And one of the two local army officers who are present was even looking at them with disapproval.
Trevor scratched the back of his head with embarrassment and didn't dare to meet their eyes, while Eve just snorted coldly and crossed her arms, and looked away.
"Gather up around the table. I want to give you guys a short briefing of what you need to do" said Tiera after she saw that all attention is now on her.
Solitary Tempest, Viper, and the others slowly gathered up around the table and looked at the map spread out on the table.
"As most of you already know, the entire capital is currently divided into two"
Tiera started explaining once again, but mostly, she's only doing this for Solitary Tempest as she had just arrived today.
The entire capital is divided in half, where the entire northern part of the city where the palace is located is of course under the control of the royal family and the nobles loyal to them.
While the southern half of the capital was taken over by Count Azuna and General Makarov along with the nobles who had aligned themselves with them, who are dissatisfied with the current KIng.
Unfortunately, most of them are just lower-ranking nobles, and the highest among is only an Earl with the exception of Count Azuna.
Fortunately for them, General Makarov is considered a hero of the kingdom so almost eighty percent of the entire kingdom's army had rebelled with him, and which allowed them the ability to raise up their arms and overthrow the throne.
"Your mission tomorrow is simple. There will be a meeting that will be held between the two leaders in the middle of the capital. First and foremost, ensure the Count's safety, and prevent any assassination attempts on his life, especially from players. Lastly, leave any non-player assassins to Captain Armstrong and his men, do not engage them as long as possible"
"Tomorrow is the decisive battle, as the reinforcements from both sides will arrive the next day, and let's hope ours will arrive first so we can finally see the end of this long drawn war"
"Once again, you guys just need to ensure the Count's safety and do not engage non-players as long as you can. Further instructions will be given tomorrow, that's all for now"
Whoosh!
Eve raised her hand and said, "And who's going to lead us then? Will it be you?"
Tiera smiled, then she looked at every single of them and replied, "I think...you've already met her"
After saying that, Tiera smiled and turned around, and left the room, followed by the knights.
Eve's face kept twitching after hearing that, and for some unknown reason, she just didn't like Solitary Tempest at all even though she knows who she is.
Trevor looked at her and just shook his head, then he turned towards Solitary Tempest and offered his hand for a handshake, his face beaming with excitement.
"Hi, I'm Trevor, and I'm a huge fan! And apologize for my sister's behavior, she's always grumpy like a grandmother"
"Hey!"
Solitary Tempest can also feel the hostility coming from Eve who's currently glaring at her, but she just ignored her and instead turned her attention towards Trevor.
"Hello, it's nice meeting a...fan here"
"I-offt!"
"Miss Tempest, I'm Kaley! Oh my god, it's such an honor working with you!"
The handshake only lasted for a second when Trevor suddenly got pushed to the side, and the person who replaced him is that priestess from earlier who was standing beside him and now gazing at Solitary Tempest with shining eyes.
"I've watched all of your videos before, especially the ones where you…"
Kaley kept on talking about things that Solitary Tempest from the past, to where she dominated the League from two years ago, and etc.
Solitary Tempest could only smile helplessly and listen to her, and to Trevor who would butt in from time to time.
Genesis looked at the scene before his eyes, and leaned to Ripley, and whispered, "Is she that famous?"
Ripley just shrugged her shoulders and said, "I guess so, and she did mention about her being famous and all, so yeah, I think she is"
"Huh...I wish I could also meet some of my fans from my rocker days" Genesis said with a chuckle.
Hearing him, Viper rolled his eyes and said, "They are probably all married now and have completely forgotten about you"
Genesis looked at him, a little bit annoyed, "Shut up…"
Ripley just snorted at them, and said, "Hmph! Let's go, I want to raise my level by at least one before D-day"
Viper frowned with a funny look on his face, "Since when was she the boss?"
