Don't trust
everything you see
Even salt looks like sugar

Water splashes onto the ground and the sounds of quarreling fill the bathroom inside my space.
"Your germs are everywhere, scrub harder! My beautiful feathers are ruined!" The fat dumpling complains.
"Baozi I'm sorry I apologized a thousand times already, it was an accident." I stress.
I did not mean to sneeze in his face, it was a reflex. He should blame himself for not ducking once he saw what I was about to do. It's not my fault he was too slow.
Baozi is so upset, he has me using the bathing room inside of my pagoda and I'm using the spring water from the koi fishes' pond to "purify" his body, as Baozi arrogantly put it.
To try and ease the atmosphere I exert some energy to change the mood. It was a gift I had when I was an infant, but I hadn't used it as much since then.
After around 10 minutes of scrubbing I notice that nothing has changed. My powers aren't working! That means this was one of the powers he took away from me! Damn. They would have made my life so much easier! I can't catch a break.
Sigh, I guess I shouldn't dwell too much on the loss, 'Everything happens for a reason Melia, remember that.' I think solemnly.
Water slaps me in my face breaking me out of my trance. A crossed bird looks at me furiously.
"Out, I can't look at you right now. I need to bathe myself you are not doing a good job. Leave, I have to change into my human form so that I can catch al of the nooks and crannies you most likely missed because of your negligence!" He is so over dramatic.
"Okay, whatever you say drama queen." I giggle hearing him go off into a rant of screeching out words I can't understand.
I go to the storage room and pick out a pack of fish feed I had put in here a while back. It only helps with strengthening the fish and making them appear cleaner. If I were back on earth these would sell for a lot of money in japan, professional Koi fish breeders would surely fight over these for sure.
I wiggle the ordinary looking bag in my hand that I bought from the market. The sound it makes is oddly satisfying.
I make my way to the pond inhabiting the fish. They are so big now. I'm sure if Min Hao was here he would surely have something inappropriate to say about them, and then ask me how his cannabis plants are faring, and I would lie and tell him that they are flourishing when in actuality I haven't stepped foot on that field since the first time he forced me to plant them. I'm sure he knew that though.
He was always there for me, and now he's gone.
Languidly I sit down in a cross legged position in front of the pond. I absentmindedly throw fish food at the creatures in the water while I think about everything that I have to do. It didn't seem so overwhelming when I trained with the Jade Emperor. I trained for 200 years. I should be ready. I should be confident. And I am, but I still have that nagging voice deep inside of me, it tells me that I can't do it. I try not to listen but an invisible power fȯrċɨbŀƴ feeds me the words whether I like it or not. I never would have thought that everything I read about, everything I watched and thought to be fiction would suddenly become a reality for me.
My fixated gaze on the fishes take notice of something strange. As they gobble down the food I see ruby red streaks that weren't on their bodies before dancing upon their scales. I go closer to them to inspect this unusual phenomena. One of them swim past my leg and I bend down to touch it. My eyebrows raise in surprise at how hot their bodies are. The level isn't dangerous for me since I'm a fire elemental, but it's still extremely hot enough for the spring water to begin bubbling.
The bracelet that Sebastian gave me all those years ago begin to glow bright the more I interact with them. Then, the Koi fishes change their swimming motions and they now swim around me in a tight circle. They're swimming so fast.
I can see the colors on their bodies changing sides. The deep dark red that once coated their bellies now lay upon their backs, the scarlet streaks intertwine with them. On their bellies lay now a golden color. "Just like my eyes, how odd, it also matches the color on my bracelet as well. I guess I should not even refer to the otome game for cheats anymore as my life has strayed far away from the plot. To be honest I can't even remember the last time my life even remotely resembled the otome game.” This is officially weird, not like it wasn't from the beginning, but it's even more weird right now.
Silver liquid spurts out of their tiny mouths like a fountain. I am hit with nostalgia. It reminds me of the time I peed on one of those evil maids back at the sect. The ones Rowan sent for me.
I don't like this. I don't like not knowing. It's dangerous. Especially in this world where one wrong move can have you killed, royal or not.
A chuckle echoes in my ear. It is feminine. A woman, maybe? Perhaps. I can feel her breath on my neck. It's not a pleasant smell. Its scent resembles blood and ash. Whoever she is, she's dangerous, a black art cultivator, they usually come from small secluded tribes. Like the Akumi tribe for example.
All I hear is the snapping of someone's fingers before I disappear.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm in a cave. I bȧrėly let out a breathe of relief before I am attacked on both sides. I sense high level martial artists all around me. There are 9 stages for martial artists. If I were to ȧssume correctly then everyone in here is at least at level 7, light foot realm.
It's too cold to use fire so I'll adapt to the conditions. I haven't used my wind and water combo in a while.
I can't see their bodies but I can hear their breathing, no matter how hard they try to conceal their selves I'm levels ahead of them.
Someone attacks me from my right at 12 o clock. I chant under my breathe using water swords and using my wind element I chant a spell to wrap them up in a breeze and send it towards that person. All they feel is a gust of wind before my pointed water swords pierce their vital organs. They die instantly. I can't hesitate. It's either kill or be killed.
I dodge someone's attempted surprise attack with by the way it cuts through the air appears to be a katana. It's sharp. It easily slices through a strand of my hair. These people are fast.
Who wants to kill me? And Why?
I don't have time to dwell too much on thinking about the answer before another person attacks me. I dodge it by jumping over their leg that tried to sweep out from under me. I revolve wind in my feet and kick to what I ȧssume to be that person's face. I land a hard kick on their ċhėst instead, and they grab my leg. However I'm too slick for them and twist my body tight so that I do a roll in the air and successfully pull my leg out of their grasp.
Cold sweat drips down my body and I feel my lungs burning for air. I keep dodging the attacks. They just keep coming one after the other. However I soon pick up on their strategy. It's like a pattern. I guess they haven't had much practice on people. Beasts are stupid enough to fall for this, but I'm not a beast. I'm more calculative.
I smell something sour. It's a poison, Hongye poison. Once it enters the blood stream your blood turns black and like an acid it burns through everything. It's like you digest yourself from the inside out.
So vicious. I do a fancy footwork I learnt at the sect and like a ghost I appear behind the person with the poisoned weapon. It's a dagger with two sharp ends. I easily snatch it out of their hand, being careful enough not to cut myself in the process, then without feeling I slash their neck. I feel blood coating my hands, but it doesn't register with me. The adrenaline pumping through my veins has me fixated only on my enemies, I don't even feel the pain I get from a few attacks I miscalculated.
"ENOUGH!"
