Chapter 145 - I Love You so Much

Yan Qingsi was woken up by her grumbling stomach. She shot a look at the time—it was almost one in the afternoon.

She checked her phone and found two missed calls, both were from Miss Mai.

Yan Qingsi dialed back.

Miss Mai answered her call almost immediately. Yan Qingsi greeted, “Miss Mai, what’s up? I just woke up.”

“My God! With the attention on Xu Qianxi’s incident, you still have the mood to sleep?” Miss Mai sounded agitated.

Yan Qingsi scratched her head. “I’m sleeping well because of the attention it’s receiving. I’d be worried if there was no response.”

Miss Mai lowered her voice as she said, “I got news from someone on the inside. Xu Qianxi said that someone drugged her and she was innocent. The police looked into the matter but have yet to uncover any evidence supporting her statement. They’re prosecuting the case with a standard prostitution charge.”

Yan Qingsi pouted slightly and said, “Let them investigate all they want.”

After this scandal, Xu Qianxi’s management team would likely abandon her. She was after all just a small-time actress. If nothing new showed up, there was limited evidence for the police to make out anything but a standard prostitution case.

Miss Mai was quite impressed. Xu Qianxi had been in the entertainment industry for a few years, and yet Yan Qingsi was able to take her out without much effort. Yan Qingsi was truly her trump card.

Miss Mai spoke, “With Xu Qianxi in police custody, who’s going to play her part in the drama? The team might not be able to keep up with the schedule.”

“Rest assured, Director Feng Jun was never really fond of Xu Qianxi. This scandal will only seal the deal. He might actually be happy with such a turn of events. He’s probably searching for a replacement now. With the vast resources at hand, it shouldn’t be a problem. Plus, with her role reduced, I might get more screen time.”

“I’m not interested in old ladies.” Yan Qingsi got up from the bed.

“Shut up. Xiao Xu will pick you up at four in the afternoon. Director Cai has been waiting for you these past few days.”

Yan Qingsi’s mood brightened with each page as she browsed through the platform. She glanced at the ‘Top 10 Searches’. Among the many scandalous news about Xu Qianxi, she recognized a familiar name, ‘Jin Xuechu’.

Yan Qingsi clicked into Jin Xuechu’s Weibo page. He had posted a photo at ten in the morning today. There was no caption.

A splash of red-streaked across the photo as bare feet stood on the abandoned car. The photo captured the silhouette of a woman with her back against the camera, the train of her red dress fluttering in the wind. The camera angle stretched her shadow, appearing like wings as the light shone above her head. The contrast was sharp and the colors were vibrant. The photo was captivating.

That was her in the photo.

Yan Qingsi laughed. Jin Xuechu was ready to promote his music.

In just two hours, his Weibo post had garnered forty thousand comments and a hundred thousand likes.

Even with all the negative articles of Xu Qianxi dominating the searches, Jin Xuechu was able to clinch a spot in the ‘Top 10 Searches’. Evidently, his fanbase was a force to be reckoned with.
