Chapter 347 - Keep Me Company Tonight?

Chapter 347: Keep Me Company Tonight?

Traffic police… you’re bad*ss, you’re rich, you’re nuts!

After they got in the car, Yan Qingsi removed Yue Tingfeng’s jacket. Scratching her head, she said, “Sorry for crashing your car, I’ll repay you later.”

Yue Tingfeng seeing Yan Qingsi’s dismal expression and red puffy eyes, his heart felt as though it was pricked by needles.

The corner of his lips curled with an evil grin saying: “Sure, tonight you can keep me company.”

He wanted to console her, but that may be the last thing Yan Qingsi wanted at a time like that.

It took Yan Qingsi a moment to realize, the word ‘pei 1’ that Yue Tingfeng used was not [pei] for repayment, but the ‘pei’ for accompanying him on the bed. She smiled. “Tonight is not a good time, let’s choose a different date. Please send me back to Splendid Residences.”

“No, I can’t send you back. Yan Songnan is waiting for you at the door.” Yue Tingfeng stepped on the gas, heading towards his place.

Yan Qingsi frowned. She cannot afford to meet Yan Songnan now. She was afraid that she might lose control and murder him.

“If that’s the case, send me to meet up with the cast of Requiem instead.”

Yue Tingfeng caressed Yan Qingsi’s face: “With your condition, do you think I will let you go filming? To let my woman work so hard to the point where she has no time for rest, that is something only a useless bum would do.”

Yan Qingsi’s lips moved, wanting to voice out her objection but she did not know what to say.

Yue Tingfeng adjusted the car’s temperature. “Take a nap if you’re tired.”

Yan Qingsi shut her eyes.

Yue Tingfeng drove the car gently, knowing Yan Qingsi was carrying a heavy burden. One where she witnessed her mother’s death. For an eight-year-old child, that experience was a deeply traumatic one. Something that could not be erased from memory her entire life.

Yue Tingfeng also investigated further. He found out that her mother’s death was not as simple as it seemed. Even though it appeared to be suicide, the ones directly responsible for her death were Yan Songnan and Ye Lingzhi, that dastardly couple. They never thought of letting Nie Qiuping come out alive from the beginning.

When a person becomes ruthless, it can be the most horrible thing in the world.

By the time the car pulled up in front of the gates, Yan Qingsi was already in deep slumber. Her eyes shut tight, breathing slowly, brows tight with strands of hair over her face. Adding to that her complexion fair as white jade, gave her an appearance of a weak little girl.

Yue Tingfeng carried her down the car. He coincidentally bumped into Mrs. Yue who was about to leave the house just as he was entering.

Yue Tingfeng said softly: “Ma…”

Mrs. Yue took a peek at Yan Qingsi. Seeing no missing limbs, she thumped her chest with a sigh of relief. “She’s asleep, bring her up quickly.”

Yue Tingfeng placed Yan Qingsi on his bed, tucked her in and went downstairs.

Mrs. Yue asked, “Where did you find her?”

Yue Tingfeng received a cup of water from Aunt Wu and took a sip. “Traffic police.”

Mrs. Yue’s eyes widened, voiced out in alarm. “She got into an accident?”

“Yeah, the car crashed into the guardrails. It was then investigated by the traffic police. It’s also my lack of thought, I forgot that she had just returned for a short time. It’s definitely not enough time for her to apply for a driver’s license. The traffic police held her and the car in custody, so I went to pay the fine and bailed her out.”

Mrs. Yue pouted. “If the car’s done for, so be it, as long as she is unharmed.”

Yue Tingfeng replied snarkily, “You sure are generous. That car was worth five million.”

Mrs. Yue rolled her eyes. “Just look at you being stingy, no wonder you get kicked off the bed every time you try to get on. If not you, who else to kick? Just my set of jewelry itself was already seven million. She crashed your car worth five million, you still owe her another two million of favor.”

Yue Tingfeng couldn’t hold in his laughter and replied, “Ma, you’re really good with numbers.”

“Of course I’m good with numbers. When I was in school, mathematics was my best subject.”
