Chapter 290: Found You

Name:Fire Mage Author:
4th January, Year 6401, Second Arcane Era.

It was around 4 A.M.

At this moment, Jessie woke up from her sleep and sat up on her soft bed.

'Why am I feeling unsettling inside?' She let out a small yawn, took out a golden communication ring, and contacted Charles.

To her surprise, an old man's voice came from the other side.

"Tell Rhea to come to the underground hall and meet me in secret."

A surprise flashed on Jessie's face.

She soon blinked her eyes, woke up from the shock, and responded.

"I'll go and tell her in a minute, Teacher."

"Good." Charles didn't say anything else and cut off the connection from the other side.

In the meantime, Jessie stood up from her bed, walked out of her room, and went towards the nearby room.

Then, she raised her hand and knocked on the wooden door twice.

A few seconds later, Rhea opened the door from another side, stuck her head out, and stared at Jessie in curious.

"What happened?" She asked.

On the other hand, Jessie glanced around and then spoke in a low voice.

"Teacher wants you to go to the underground hall and meet him in secret. No one should know about it."

A startled look appeared on Rhea's face.

Although she couldn't understand why her Teacher wants to meet her at this time, she didn't put much thought into it and nodded her head.

"Wait here for a while. I will go and get ready."

Saying so, she shut the door from inside and began to get ready.

A few minutes later, Rhea walked out of her room, glanced at Jessie for a moment, and asked.

"Are you not coming to the underground basement?"

Her voice contains a trace of surprise and confusion.

Meanwhile, Jessie shook her head and spoke.

"Teacher didn't ask me to accompany you. He might have something to say to you in private. Go."

Rhea widened her eyes for a moment before nodding her head and started running on the corridor.

Upon seeing her action, a deep sigh came out of Jessie's mouth.

'She doesn't even realize the seriousness of the situation.' She muttered inwardly and returned to her room.

Then, she went to the bathroom, brushed her teeth, took a long bath, and wore a formal black dress.

After that, she walked out of the bathroom, took out a pocket watch from her space ring, flipped open the outer case, and looked into it.

'4.30 A.M. Rhea must have returned from the basement.' She nodded inwardly, walked out of her room, and knocked on her door twice.

But even after a whole minute of waiting, no response came from the other side.

'She is still in the underground basement?' She narrowed her eyes and then moved towards Titus's room.

Then, she knocked on the door and waited.

A few seconds later, a brown-haired young man opened the door from the other side and stared at Jessie in puzzlement.

"What happened, sis?"

"Nothing."

Jessie shook her head, took out a secret letter from her space ring, and passed it to him.

"When our Teacher comes out of the underground basement, give this letter to him." She said in a calm tone.

Meanwhile, Titus gave her a deep look and nodded his head.

"Good." Jessie nodded her head, hesitated for a moment, and then added.

"Do not let Miss Ashley go near Rhea during the coronation ceremony. Something feels off about her."

Upon hearing those words, Titus was stunned a little and asked in shock.

"Why are you suspecting her, sis? She is with us the whole time, right?"

Meanwhile, Jessie shook her head and spoke in a serious tone.

"Something doesn't add up. Listen to my words, Titus. Do not let her go near Rhea during the ceremony. Got it?"

Titus was shocked by his elder sister's tone and turned serious.

"I-I won't let her go near Rhea." He nodded his head hurriedly.

"Good. I will go to the terrace and give Destiny Lady some company." Saying so, Jessie moved towards the end of the corridor and went to the third floor through a spiral staircase.

Then, she walked past the banquet hall, ballroom, and VIP rooms and soon stepped on the straight staircase.

Within a few seconds, she reached the building's terrace, glanced at the surroundings filled with ornamental vines and plants, and soon zeroed her gaze on a black-haired woman, who was currently seated on the Lawson sofa.

She had scarlet eyes, appeared around 25 years old, and wore a red robe.

"You woke up early today." A pleasant voice came out of Destiny Lady's mouth as she crossed her legs together and turned her gaze towards Jessie.

"I'm feeling unsettled." Jessie didn't hide anything and explained her strange uneasiness.

Meanwhile, Destiny Lady stared at her for three continuous seconds and shook her head.

"It's called the fear of unknown." She stood up from her seat, moved towards the edge of the terrace, placed her hand on the iron pipe, and continued.

"We feel this kind of strangeness when facing unexplained things. But this fear gives us strength to move forward and find out the origin of these unexplained-" Destiny Lady abruptly paused for a moment and stared at Rodsley Street in confusion.

No, she was currently focused on a particular tree planted on the street sides.

"What happened?" Jessie was startled by her action, moved towards the edge of the terrace, and followed after her gaze.

Although she vaguely saw a humanoid appearance on the road, she couldn't see the figure's appearance clearly because of darkness and tree branches blocking her vision.

On the other hand, Destiny Lady raised her hand, pinched her chin, and shook her head.

"It must be someone else."

"Who?" Jessie got more curious and asked.

At that moment, she saw that humanoid figure walked past the tree branches, moved towards the old mansion's compound gate, and peeked inside.

"What is he doing? Is he a thief?" Jessie looked at the human figure in suspicion.

"He is moving again. He is moving towards the mansion entrance." Destiny Lady spoke solemnly.

Like she had said, the human once again retracted his gaze from the mansion, moved towards the mansion entrance gate, and once again looked inside.

But unlike before, Jessie and Destiny Lady managed to saw his appearance because of the presence of street light and widened their eyes!

The face of that man was ageless, neither old nor young, though it was written the memory of many things both glad and sorrowful. His hair was dark as the shadow of twilight.

His eyes were grey as a clear evening, and in them was a light like the light of stars.

He wore a brown cape over his head and appeared emotionless.

"Omen!" Both of them muttered in a shocked tone!

As if he had sensed their gazes, Omen suddenly shifted his gaze towards the three-storied building's terrace, looked at the direction where they were standing, and curled his lips upward.

"Found You!" An eerie voice echoed in their ears!
