Chapter 336: Tower Spirit

Charles and Edith also landed beside Oswald and stared at the Rebirth Tower's entrance.

Meanwhile, Oswald walked forward, arrived in front of the golden gate, and recited a short chant.

A few seconds later, the 3-meter tall golden gate made a loud clanging noise and opened.

The next instant, a grand hall appeared in front of everyone's eyes.

Even though the Tower appeared less than a 200-meter radius, the inside seemed three times larger!

"I enchanted the floor and walls with space laws and expanded the space," Oswald said in a proud tone and stepped inside.

"Why do I feel like you are skipping something?" Charles gave him a skeptical look and walked beside him.

Upon hearing his words, Oswald's expression stiffened a little.

"Hoho, I'll tell you in a minute." He said with a laugh and started moving towards the nearby stairs.

Meanwhile, Edith also looked at the surrounding hall and followed them silently.

The trio soon arrived near the staircase and moved upstairs.

While walking, Oswald looked at the straight staircase and spoke.

"When they finished building this Rebirth Tower, there were only five layers. But later, I made some alterations and split each layer into five levels. In total, there are twenty-five levels in this Tower. Each level is as large as the grand hall you saw earlier."

Upon hearing those words, Charles's eyes widened.

"Wait… Expanding the space to such extend would consume some kind of energy, right?" He asked with a frown.

Meanwhile, Oswald let out a fake cough and nodded.

"You are sharp as always. Yes, it consumes space-elemental crystals. But one or two Perfect space elemental crystals should be more than enough for a year. So, you don't have to worry about it too much."

On the other hand, Charles raised his eyebrows and asked.

"What are these elemental crystals?"

In truth, he had long wanted to ask more about these crystals but actually forgot about it.

Upon hearing his words, Oswald curled his lips upward and answered.

"There are four types of elemental crystals out there. They are Common, Perfect, Fairy, and Divine. Before I tell you more about these crystals, I'll give you some explanation about the crystals' origins." He deliberated for a moment and then added.

"Do you know about the magical beasts, right? These crystals are like cores of magical beasts. For example, Rank-1 and Rank-2 Magical Beasts have common elemental crystals in their heart, Rank-3 and Rank-4 Magical Beasts have Perfect elemental crystals, Rank-5 and Rank-6 Magical Crystals have Fairy elemental crystals and Rank-7, and Rank-8 Divine Beasts have Divine Crystals."

"As for the beasts above Rank-8, I haven't heard of something in my lifetime. Unlike other Ranked Beasts, Magical Beasts are rare to be found in any plane. Moreover, each Magical Beast would only be specialized in a single element. So, its understanding of that particular element would be very high. To capture or kill a Rank-1 Magical Beast, you need the help of ten Rank-1 Mystics. Even that much strength won't be enough to kill off such a thing."

"Oh? If they are so rare, where do we even find them? Dense forest regions?" This time, Edith was the one who asked this question.

"Correct. But there are only a few dense forests on this continent. Moreover, entering such a forest is dangerous even for Rank-4 Mystics. The Unexplored Forest is the best example. That's why Mages and other class Mystics form a group before going deep into these forests. Anyway, I'll send a squad of Rank-2 or Rank-3 Mystics to the nearby dense forests and let them do the hunting job to get common elemental crystals."

While speaking, they continued to walk upward, made a few turns, and finally arrived in front of a metallic door.

Then, Oswald arrived near the metallic door, placed his hand on it, and recited another chant.

The next instant, the door opened with a click and revealed a large hall.

But just as they stepped in, Charles sensed dense elemental energies appeared all over the place!

'Fire, water, air, earth, space, and even other energies are appearing inside….' He frowned for a moment and then looked around.

Only then did he notice that the walls, floor, and even the ceiling were covered entirely in reddish runic circles!

"This is the Core Room," Oswald said in a calm tone, raised his hand, and pointed the cane's heel towards the center of the hall.

Charles and Edith followed his gaze and soon saw a head-sized reddish crystal hovering in the air!

"Go on. Put a drop of your blood and then imprint it with your wisdom power." Oswald spoke.

Charles nodded his head and started walking towards the Tower Core.

After a minute of walking, he arrived near the Red Core and took a dagger from his space ring.

Then, he made a small cut on his finger and let a drop of blood fell on the Tower Core.

As the blood droplet landed on the Core, a dazzling red light appeared from the Core and blinded everyone's vision!

Simultaneously, the inscribed magic circles on the surrounding walls, ceiling, and floor also started to shine in a reddish light.

Charles was stunned by the sudden change!

But soon, he woke up from the shock, placed his hand on the Red Core, and sent his wisdom power into it.

Then, he condensed a small amount of his wisdom power and imprinted it on the Tower Core.

A second later, a woman's figure appeared in front of him.

She appeared illusionary, had long silver hair, blue eyes, an oval face, and looked around 25 to 30 years old.

Currently, she wore a red floral gown, a gem-embedded necklace, and had a delicate figure.

But what caught Charles's attention was not her appearance but her elongated ears!

"Elf?" Charles asked in a shocked tone.

"To be precise, she is just a Tower Spirit. I tried to create something, but I only managed to succeed this much." Oswald said with a bitter smile on his face.

"You tried to create something?" Charles raised his eyebrows in suspicion.

Meanwhile, Oswald stepped forward, arrived next to the confused tower spirit, and tried to touch its face.

Unfortunately, his hand passed right through the illusionary figure and appeared on the other side.

But Oswald didn't show any confusion, though. Instead, he glanced at his palm and spoke in a solemn tone.

"I created this Tower Spirit using some of the memories of my love. Alas, it seems I failed this time."

At that moment, the silver elf tilted her head, pointed her finger towards her chest, and asked in a pleasant female voice.

"Zera?"

Upon hearing her words, Oswald's eyes went wide.

He stood rooted on the spot for a whole ten seconds and soon burst into laughter!

"Hahaha, I made it! Finally, I can hear her voice." His voice contained uncontrollable joy and excitement.

After a minute, he soon calmed down and grinned.

"So, did you succeed?" Charles retracted his hand from the Tower Core and asked.

"Nah, this spirit has no emotions or feelings. It's nothing but an artificial Tower Spirit. But at least, I manage to create what I wanted." Oswald paused for a moment and ordered.

"Zera, show us what you can do."

Meanwhile, Zera nodded her head, raised her illusionary right hand, and waved it.

The next instant, a blue icon appeared in front of their eyes.

It appeared more like a game-Interface!

Charles glanced at Edith and soon saw a smug look on her face.

"Our system is not a secret now, right?" She said.

At that moment, a large number of icons appeared on the blue screen.

'Spell List, Identity Book, Quest Icon, Spell Models, Defense Mechanism, Storage, Artifact Section, Personal Icon…'

While Charles was in looking at the icons, Oswald touched the blue interface and explained.

"The first one is Spell List. As long as you are in the Tower's range, you can unlimitedly cast the spells in the Spell List. But you've to check about the elemental energies stored in the Tower Core, though."

At that moment, a large number of spell names appeared in front of Charles's eyes.

'Fire: Spark- Rank-1, Fire Orb- Rank-1, Flame Eye- Rank-1, Fire Bolt- Rank-2, Fire Ball- Rank-2, Flame Blast- Rank-2, etc.,

Water: Water Ball- Rank-1, Create Mist- Rank-1, Water Whip- Rank-1, Crystal Needle- Rank-2, Ice Coffin- Rank-2, etc.,

Wind: Air Bullet- Rank-1, Float- Rank-1, Control Wind- Rank-1, Wind Blade- Rank-2, Wind Cutter- Rank-2, etc.,

Earth: Rock Shield- Rank-1, Earth Sense- Rank-1, Rock Spear- Rank-1, Create Quake- Rank-2, Land Walk- Rank-2, etc.,

Space: Blink- Rank-1, Create Space- Rank-1, Spatial Walk- Rank-1, Space Bind- Rank-2, Teleport- Rank-2, Space Lock- Rank-2, etc.,

Darkness: Dark Bind- Rank-1, Smoke Illusion- Rank-1, Dark Grab- Rank-1, Dark Vanish- Rank-1, Mist of Fear- Rank-2, Shadow Invasion- Rank-2, Dream Invasion- Rank-2, etc.,

Light: Light Arrow- Rank-1, Blessing of the Light- Rank-1, Eliminate Curse- Rank-1, Heart of Light- Rank-2, Shield of the Sacred Light- Rank-2, Light's Grace- Rank-2, etc.,'

Upon seeing the list, Charles was stunned inside.

He even saw some Rank-5 Spells in the list and got shocked a little.

"Can I even cast a Rank-5 Spell?" He couldn't help but ask.

"You can, lad. But the consumption of the elemental crystals will be very high. Except for some water elemental ones, we don't have any elemental crystals now." Oswald responded calmly, minimized the icon, and touched the Identity Book.
