Chapter 372: Strange Clouds

Somewhere in the Endless Sea, Azure Federation's Territory, Edhen World.

A golden-painted ship with several sails drove deep into the Endless Sea.

Unlike the ordinary medieval vessel, this appeared ten times larger and had multiple cabins, rooms, and tall masts.

If not for the presence of masts, this ship would've looked more like a cargo ship!

Even though it was morning, the sky looked darker due to dark clouds, and flashes of lightning rained down from the sky from time to time.

Meanwhile, a beautiful woman in her late twenties stood at the bow's edge and looked at the seawater with her gorgeous eyes.

Even in the morning sunlight, her crimson eyes shone like fierce fires.

Her long red hair also moved due to the sea breeze and fluttered in the air like waves.

The woman had a curved body, round face, a deep scar above her left eye, celestial nose, and tender lips.

Currently, she wore a Boned Corset, red velvet waistcoat, a crimson skirt, and on top of her head was a black hat.

She also hung a sword in her waist and looked more like an Empress of the Sea!

She was none other than Gold Demon ship's Captain, Valerie!

While scanning for any anomaly in the sea, she suddenly noticed a shadow under their ship and soon sighed.

"It's another boring day."

It's been more than four months since they started their journey to look at the place where Sophie's lover disappeared years ago.

But they still hadn't reached the right destination.

At that moment, a middle-aged man appeared behind her and spoke in a calm tone.

"Don't worry. We have almost reached our destination."

The man was around 45-years-old, had wavy blonde hair, a slightly obese body, and wore a naval blue dress.

As he moved towards Valerie's right side, he took out a unique wooden compass, opened it, and then stared at it quietly.

A few seconds later, he closed the compass and spoke in a calm tone.

"Steer the ship to 8 'o'clock. We'll reach there in an hour or two."

"Are you sure about this, Captain Milo?" Valerie asked nervously while looking in the direction where Milo told her to steer the ship.

In that direction, she saw that the monstrous and eerie dark clouds descended from the sky and almost touched the seawater!

Tens of lightning bolts fell from the sky continuously and stuck the marine creatures before killing them in dozens or even hundreds.

Upon seeing this, the corner of Captain Milo's lips rose upward.

"This is it! We encountered that Rank-5 Unicorn after we crossed these clouds. It's also the only way to reach the Last Island." Captain Milo said with a smile.

Meanwhile, Valerie suddenly thought of something and asked.

"What is that Last Island? Why is it so special? Why is everyone spending their money to visit that place?"

"Special? No, special should be an understatement, lass." Milo paused for a moment and then added with a mysterious smile on his face.

"There is a strange legend about that island. Some say that those who enter the land in a hopeless situation will have their wish fulfilled. Although only a few people believe that myth, only time will tell the truth."

Upon hearing his words, Valerie's eyes widened.

At that moment, she felt a strange sadness appeared in the depth of her heart.

The same goes for the nearby crew members like the bald man Liam and navigator Elias.

They had been with Charles and Destiny Lady for more than four months and knew how Charles loved her one-sidedly.

Although he didn't show his love openly, everyone in the crew knew that he was madly in love with her.

"Shall I tell him about this myth, Captain? That kid's heart isn't strong enough to accept the truth." Elias said in a grim tone.

Liam and other crew members also nodded their heads in unison.

But Valerie shook her head.

"This is nothing but a myth, Elias. Even if we tell him now, nothing will change. No, it will only ruin his mood much earlier."

Elias tried to object but soon gave up on persuading her.

"Elias, go and steer the ship to 8 'o'clock. Bentley, go and activate the defensive magic formations in the masts, sails, and the sides."

Those defensive magic formations were created by the clone Charles during the past few years.

Although they weren't strong enough to block Rank-3 spells, they were more than enough to stop regular lighting strikes!

After giving few more orders to her crewmates, Valerie turned her gaze towards the bald man and spoke.

"Liam, go and tell Charles and Natalia to come here." Her tone was calm and composed.

Meanwhile, Liam nodded his head and moved towards the crew cabins.

A few seconds later, he returned with a young man and a young woman.

The young man was around 28-years-old, had deep-blue hair, an oval face, had a long stubbed beard, and appeared to be around 183 cm tall.

On the other hand, the young woman looked around 25 years old, had black hair, scarlet eyes, and wore a black sheath dress.

They were Charles and Destiny Lady!

As they walked towards the front deck, Charles noticed the strange hurricane-like dark clouds that almost touched the sea and frowned.

"Why are we moving in that direction?" He asked.

At that moment, his voice appeared rougher and a little bit colder.

"We are about to reach our destination."

This time, it was Captain Milo who answered his question.

On the other hand, Sophie widened her scarlet eyes and leaped towards the ship's bow to take a closer look.

"Where did you guys meet that Unicorn?" She asked while peered into the dark clouds.

"We met that beast on the other side of these dark clouds," Milo said in a solemn tone and started walking towards the side.

On the other hand, Charles also silently moved near the mainmast and waited.

Within a few minutes, the Gold Demon ship arrived near the dark clouds and soon entered.

As they moved into the clouds, lightning bolts flashed from all directions and stuck the Gold Demon ship from everywhere!

Although the defensive magic formations blocked those bolts, they also got damaged after a few rounds of lightning attacks and soon broke.

A frown appeared on Charles's face as he saw this.

'Those lightning bolts are not normal ones.' Without any hesitation, he raised his hand and cast [Sun's Shield] spell.

The next instant, a sunshine layer appeared around the ship and covered it completely.

But just as everyone was about to breathe out a sigh of relief, a bluish arc of lightning bolt sizzled from the center of the eerie dark sky and landed on the sunshine layer.

Then, the bluish arc of the lightning bolt multiplied into tens of small electric arcs while damaging the [Sun's Shield] spell and destroyed it in seconds!
