Chapter 137 Tempest Caused by Destroying the Guqin (Part One)

"Did you enjoy the music?" Her words brought the audience back to reality, but the tune lingered in their minds.

Wu Jin glared at Yun Canglan long and hard.

The smile faded from Yang Tianxin's gentle face, it was replaced by a fierce look, with anger and hatred in her eyes as she stared at Yun Canglan.

Yang Gezhi was staring at Yun Canglan too, but his eyes were filled with affection. Even though she disregarded him intentionally and treated him with cool indifference, he watched her unblinking and smitten obsessively.

Suddenly, the judge with the goatee got up and went over to Yun Canglan excitedly. "Expert! You turned out to be an expert! Please forgive me for not seeing that earlier. Only heaven itself could compare to the ethereal music you created."

Audience members below the stage were stunned. The elderly judge with the goatee, Wang Wei, a renowned scholar of the Ling Kingdom, was at one time in the past the Grand Preceptor but left his position because he despised the officialdom. Now, he was a tutor at a private school and was known to be a man who respected only those with experience and education in Ling city. So, the audience was astonished hearing him praise a teenage girl as an expert, although, they agreed, after all, they heard the heavenly music as well.

Yun Canglan nodded respectfully, and humbly, there was no conceit, and everyone admired her grand mannerisms.

"I was wondering if you could tell me the name of the music piece?" The judge asked.

Yun Canglan turned slightly facing his curious yet confused eyes. She responded without fear of Wu Jin's indifference or Yang Ti

ut was winning the man who was standing in front of her.

Wu Jin looked deeply into Yun Canglan's eyes trying to see through her but he failed. He thought he was able to see through anyone in the world, however, he didn't understand Yun Canglan at all.

Wu Jin drew Yang Tianxi behind him, entwining his long fingers through her delicate fingers. He clutched her hand tightly, as if to console her, then looked at Yun Canglan coldly, "Thank you for the flattery, but Tianxin is my beloved. You fell for the wrong person."

Under her veil, a bitter smile appeared on Yun Canglan's face, and she stared at the hands clasping together, "It isn't the end yet though, it's too early to draw any conclusions."

Without waiting for either Wu Jin or Yang Tianxin to answer, Yun Canglan turned around, walked over to retrieve the Guqin, and looked down at everyone, "Today, I'm lucky enough to win the Guqin. However, I don't like it when people cast green eyes on my things." Yun Canglan said as she gave Yang Tianxi a cold sidelong glance, "So, I think, I would rather destroy it than keep it."
