Chapter 101 - Mo An's trick

Wang Ming felt uncomfortable when Crazy Nu flatted him constantly when he was picking out ingredients. Which made him want to leave even faster. He just couldn't feel accustomed to people flattering him and tell him he's special when he's not.

After 10 minutes Wang Ming finally came out of the store with every ingredient he needed, he held 3 bags in each hand, luckily they were double bagged or else the bags wouldn't be able to hold the weight at all, he just hoped that the little boy hadn't picked out too many items for him to carry as well.

Walking back to the store, Wang Ming saw that many of the customers he had seen earlier had left already. He then saw the little boy and a man he assumed was his father. The boy was sitting on his shoulders and kept petting his father's head.

"Ah, Dadda, that's the uncle that wanted the things. See, I wasn't lying."

The boy furiously pat and shook his father's head, which made his hair look like a bed nest. But it seemed like the boy did this a lot, as his father didn't care at all and just greeted Wang Ming with a big smile.

"So this is the uncle my boy was talking about, you lucky little boy else I would have given you a spanking. Welcome to my humble shop customer. I'm Mo Cai, and the little boy is Mo An."

"Yes, I ordered some toiletries are they packed up?"

"Only toiletries?"

Mo Cai looked at his son with a confused face, the bags they had packed for Wang Ming had some toiletries like soap, deodorant, perfume, lotion ect. But one bag also had at least 10 small bags of candy and snacks.

"Are you sure you only wanted toiletries? My son here got me to pack a bag of snacks and candy, a bag of toiletries and one bag of household items."

Wang Ming thought it was weird, that there's a bag of candy and snacks in there. He hadn't asked for them, but then he had asked Mo An to get anything he thought Wang Ming needed. He hadn't eaten snacks in many years, as his father meant that snacks are unhealthy so you shouldn't eat them.

"I asked Mo An to get anything he thought I would need, as I'm moving into a new house. He must have thought that I'm hungry, so he wanted to give me some snacks, I'll pay for it so don't hurt him, please."

"Wait, hurt who? Did you think that I was going to beat my child? Me and my son just like to joke with each other, I would never hit my child, even though it's normal around here I don't think it's the right way to teach a child."

"But anyway, since we cleared the misunderstanding, the total is 900 yuan. I was just afraid that this little boy wanted to sneak in snacks for himself, I only let him eat one a day."

Mo An had a guilty look on his face, even if he tried to hide it, both Wang Ming and his father clearly saw it. But Wang Ming didn't care too much, as having some snacks around the house hurt no one.

After paying Wang Ming finally went back to his house, seeing the house for a second time, he felt happy that he pulled the trigger and bought the house. It's truly a beautiful house, it didn't feel like home yet, he would need to buy more furniture, kitchenware and some decorations to make the house more him.

Thinking about decorations made him think about the knives he wanted to give to Wang Lei, since Wang Lei didn't get them. Wang Ming would hang them up in his house instead. If there were another chance, he would give Wang Lei another gift. He and the knives weren't fated.

He still had the backpack on his back, so he put the down the bags with stuff he had bought and put them on the kitchen counter then taking out the knives, Wang Ming couldn't help but appreciate once again how well crafted the knives is. The person who crafted shouldn't waste his or her talents on making fake items but make their own branded knives.

Putting the knives in a frame, Wang Ming put them up on the wall again. This time the same thing happened again. A golden flash pulsed out through the room when he put the knives on the wall, but this time Wang Ming could see it, but just barely.

He didn't know what it was, the only thing he knew after seeing the pulse, he felt much more comfortable and at home. Vastly different from before. Is this the effect of the knives? It can make people feel at ease? Now, Wang Ming felt happy that he didn't give the knives to Wang Lei. Maybe these knives weren't as simple as he thought they were. Just maybe they aren't even fake, but just way above his identifications skills?

Wang Ming really didn't know, but he would try to find someone to appraise them at another time. He had more urgent tasks at the moment, which is to make new dishes.

At the shop earlier he had bought a big assortment of meats and vegetables to try out new recipes, he still wasn't sure what type of meat he wanted to cook with so he bought expensive cuts and also cheap ones. Though he bought more of the cheap cuts than the expensive ones, as he feels that cheaper cuts are much harder to make great, if you buy an expensive cut of meat and cook with them, they're going to come out great even with minimal effort.

Like how he cooked the Kobe beef when he still sold food at the FengShong market festival, he only needed to grill them and didn't even need to marinate it. Since such a tender and high grade beef doesn't need any marinating, only perfectly timed cooking. They're expensive cuts for a reason they taste good with minimum effort.

The expensive cuts he had bought were Sirloin steak, entrecote, pork loin chops and some other beef cuts. As for the cheap ones, he bought more types as flap steak, Tri-tip steak, lamb ribs, lamp shoulder chop and some other as chicken t.h.i.g.hs, wings, even duck.

Wang Ming figured he would just cook with a piece of everything to find out what he could whip up, even though he had experience cooking with some of these cuts like entrecote, the chicken, flap steak ect. He felt a bit intimidated by the other cuts he had bought also, which he actually had never cooked with before like the lamb. But this is also what makes it fun to figure out how to cook with the different meats.

Luckily, he had also bought a multitude of spices. Taking a deep breath, he readied himself for the battle.
