They arrived in a very peculiar chamber. He observed the room with his Spirit Eyes, trying to see if there was anything weird in the room.
The room itself only had a big table and two chairs while there was no suspicious energy around the room.
The decoration itself was like the Phoenix Trial Room, except there was no gate. Alex could only see an illusion array inside the room and looked at the Neptune.
"Please come inside the rune… no, I should say Array, right?" The Neptune narrowed his eyes.
"!!!" He was astonished to see the Neptune knew about Array.
"Although the most knowledgeable person in this world is the Phoenix Queen. The Naga Race has more information about the other world than her. Like, I am not an 8-Star Tier 6, but 8-Star Martial Emperor.
"And we precisely know about the terror of those who are higher than a Martial Emperor. That's why it did not take too long for us to decide what to do. In fact, if we are stubborn, we can just hide the truth and follow you to another world.
"Then, we can build our strength before revealing ourselves." The Neptune paused for a while before telling him the truth. "Actually, the prophecy about a new Supreme was already tempered according to his will.
"When darkness falls upon the land,
"The supreme's blood will restore life once more.
"In accordance with the ancient pact,
"When the six big races are gathered,
"The sphere that leads the light will awaken.
"The supreme will return.
"This is the normal story. The darkness was already over when the first supreme sent the outsiders back. As for the Supreme's blood, he said it was more like a premonition from someone, leading him to say that.
"The third line was about Ancient Pact. The Supreme knew it would be a very long time to meet someone who can possess the crystal or he might know that someone would come to this land a few thousand years later. At that time, the pact can be considered as an Ancient Pact… which is the present time…
"And this World Summit is what he meant by six races gathered again to decide our next course. Albeit, from my point of view, the Phoenix, Dragon, Angel, and my race will choose not to go to the other world. I don't know about the Elven and Human Race though.
"The sphere that leads the light will awaken… This is actually pointed to the crystals and what it means by awakening is the portal. It would then lead you again to the last line.
"The supreme will return… Which is basically talking about you, not everyone else, but you. Even if there is someone who manages to gather all the six crystals, no one would be able to replicate your achievement, which means you are the one in his mouth," he said.
Alex stared at him for a while, pondering the meaning. He did not know why this Supreme was waiting for him, but it seemed to have a connection to his past life. Yet, he felt something strange about this whole thing. He learned about that chant and crystal from a priest, making this story unbelievable.
"I got the crystal from someone though." Alex furrowed his eyebrows.
"Did he get possessed or something?"
"!!!" Alex was taken back, wondering why he knew about it. He said, "Yes."
"Then, it must be the Supreme. If I am not wrong, the Supreme seals his soul inside the six crystals and the world. I assume you have seen the Supreme as well. He is half dragon and half phoenix."
"You… are correct." Alex nodded.
"I would like to talk more with you, but I think we should start the trial right now, afraid of making the others wait for too long."
"Yeah."
"Then, please step on the Array."
Alex entered the magic circle, sitting in lotus pose as he entered the world within the illusion. It was the same plain white world where he could find a wooden token in front of him.
According to the Neptune, his objective in this situation was only to embed his soul inside whatever it presented him. Hence, he grabbed the token and injected his soul inside it.
The token glowed for a second before it projected Alex's soul, which he could control with his will. This was an easy task for him as he already knew about this technique when he experimented with his Special Realm.
Knowing it was a success, the token finally disappeared with his soul. The next item was also another token, but it was made from bronze.
Surprisingly, when he planted his soul inside the token, it shattered to pieces, confusing Alex.
"What is the meaning of this?" Alex frowned. There was no knowledge about the soul inside his head, so he was clueless about this. Even so, seeing another item appeared in front of him, he quickly grabbed it and infused his soul inside.
It continued from an inmate object, like tokens from wooden to metal tokens. It was then moved to Weapons such as sword and spear, then to raw materials like rock or ore until it was finally a book.
Surprisingly, he could fuse his soul with books, letting him teach someone who opened the book. Unfortunately, this technique was very costly. Even his system warned him not to do it unless necessary.
After inmate objects, he would need to infuse his soul to living creatures. It started with plants and animals before moving to monsters. His purpose was not just to embed his soul inside but also to control them with his soul. He even needed to erase someone's memory.
It was weird when he needed to erase their memory. He felt like he just cut something far more precious than anything he possessed. It was also different from Maxwell's sealing memory technique, which basically used his Divine Power to someone's soul.
Alex pondered for a while and knew Maxwell seemed to be against the idea of erasing someone's memory and like the idea of sealing more. As for Alex, he preferred killing than erasing or sealing their memory. In fact, without a memory, there would not be any satisfaction in torturing them. That was why Alex decided to stick with his way.
The soul test continued as he had another human as his test subject. He did not hesitate and erase the human memory as he knew it was only an illusion.
After that, the third step finally arrived, where Alex needed to defend from a soul attack. In other words, he needed to defend himself from all the things he did from the start.
Fortunately, his soul was stronger than normal and it was amusing to see the mini version of him turned into a teenager. Witnessing the transformation, He thought he would get the same appearance if he broke through to Martial Monarch.
Alex then continued to defend himself from brainwash, memory-erasing and so on. His head was slightly hurt, but it could be said this test was the easiest than all he had experienced. In fact, it even made him think why this test had the highest requirement despite having the easiest difficulty.
He did not find any answer beside it was not the easiest test because if Shelka was not in the Elven Race, he might fight someone weaker than her. The same applied to Dragon Race. As for the Human Race, he never knew about them nor met their family, so he did not particularly care.
It took him only two hours before he completed the trial.
"It seems you have finished the trial." The Neptune smiled upon noticing the slight movement on his eyebrows.
Alex opened his eyes and let out a long breath. "Yes."
"Although the test has ended, there are still a few things I need to say about Soul, so I hope you can hear this."
"Please." Alex nodded, knowing his understanding of the soul was still shallow, so he accepted it gratefully.
"Soul is something marvelous. I am sure your first trail is to infuse your soul inside inmate objects. And in some materials, they would break as soon as you infuse your soul."
"Yes."
"This is because of the quality of the materials. The ones that broke were low-level materials which could not withstand your Martial Emperor's soul."
"Ah." Alex remembered the energy inside those low-quality ones were smaller. Although he had thought like that, it was not one hundred percent. But when Neptune clarified it, he knew it was the reason those objects broke.
"It seems I have more things I need to learn about Soul." Alex nodded, wondering if he would receive some kind of Soul Inheritance in his next tribulation.
Recalled back, he got his Spear Intent because he already had Sword Intent despite using both in the lower world. Then it was his sword intent, letting him use two intents simultaneously. The three were something that he was severely lacking.
So, he thought the inheritance was something he wished for. Although there was not a definite proof about this, the system also arrived at the same conclusion.
Alex shocked his head and continued listening to Neptune's explanation. After another fifteen minutes, he finally finished.
"The trial has finished and I think it is time for us to go back."
"Yes." Alex nodded before asking, "What about the World Summit thing? Do I need to attend it or should I go straight to the portal?"
"Ehm, I hope you can attend the meeting first. It will be held tomorrow, and I believe it won't take much time."
"Alright." Alex agreed since it would be the same whether he left today or tomorrow.
"I have prepared your room too, and I will send a servant to inform you tomorrow morning."
"I will leave it to you." Alex nodded, not caring about it. "By the way, every ruler has already arrived, right?"
"Yes. Dragon King came first, followed by Seraphim. Human Sovereign and Elven King arrived together. I will inform them after this."
Alex nodded, thinking it was over before he remembered another matter. It was the message that the Supreme left him. He looked at the Neptune and said, "Actually, there is one more thing I need to ask you."
"Ask me?" Neptune was certainly surprised by this, wondering if he missed something. Unfortunately, he could not think of a single thing, so he asked, "May I know what it is? Or maybe it is a request?"
"This is not a request. Instead, it was items. I certainly met the Supreme and he asked me to tell you to give me the keys after I beat the trial."
"Keys..." The Neptune tried to remember. It took him a few seconds before realizing what the keys were. "Ah, I see. The Supreme certainly left the keys... although it did not look like a key. It would seem it was something similar to the Teleportation Crystal. Anyway, the keys are inside the treasury at the moment, so I could only give it to you tomorrow. Is that okay with you?"
"Yes. It is the same, whether it is today or tomorrow." Alex nodded. "Besides, I feel we have made the others wait for too long."
"Indeed. Please this way."
He then guided Alex back to the throne room. Surprisingly, they were waiting for them to come back patiently.
Little did he know it was because of Stina. At first, Sherry made a ruckus, saying how it would take too long after two hours of waiting. Stina said, compared to another race trial, the trial of this race would only last for a few hours at best, so Sherry waited, albeit reluctantly.
"Master!" Sherry leaped toward Alex the moment she saw him, making Stina and the others having a weird expression.
Even so, Alex only smiled and patted her head, not caring about other opinions. The Neptune then ordered someone to take them to their room and Stina decided to stay with Ellen and the others, Ellen and the others.
