532 Flame Heating Lotus

"Bring it in."

After hearing the order, a beautiful assistant walked to the platform, bringing the first item. The first item was a red-colored rock containing fire energy. It could increase one's fire element slightly but not at the level of Elemental Gems like Fire or Wind Gem.

Alex had no interest in that stone and turned his head. "Your father... is a bit special..."

"Pfft." Song Yu chuckled. "I hear that a lot."

"Even my grandfather is complaining about his attitude. Still, he is a great father, who won't sacrifice me by using a political marriage, and a great patriarch."

He shook his head, refused to answer. Though the answer was clear, he did not want to compare them in front of others, and Song Yu could understand that.

The item was not really that good, so it had yet to reach the level where he needed to measure the money with Spirit Gems."

He only closed his eyes while waiting until the Flame Heating Lotus. "I should come a few hours later..."

"Haha... It seems nothing can fancy you other than lotus." Song Yu smiled upon his bored look. She stood up, fixed her flower embroidered short dress, and moved her chair closer to him. "You can cultivate to pass the time. I will wake you up later. There should be around four or five hours before the lotus even comes up, considering it is the last item."

Alex took up her offer and closed his eyes. "Thank you."

"Sure. This is my job after all." She glanced at Alex's face and thought, 'Huft. You said luck, but I don't believe it myself. Despite how you look, you surely have practice harder than anyone else. The thought of it was beautiful, but just like anybody else, she did not know what kind of experience Alex had. It might be a good scene on her mind, but treacherous on his eyes. Four hours passed by in an instant. Her father had auctioned more than forty-five items in a row without taking a break. Although it was a boring auction, the items livened up the situation. They had chosen the item carefully so as to grasp the attention of all influences and loose cultivators.

Blackwade Clan wanted to use this opportunity to amass money and search for any mysterious person nearby. This was like Ruben's intention when he asked Alex to come to the Blue West Clan, just in a different way. Unfortunately, except Alex, he found no genius or mysterious person that he could invite to their Blackwade Clan.

Of course, his effort was still rewarded by finding Alex alone and his desire to take down one of the first-rate influences. "..." Alex almost chuckled when he heard it. Seeing how the system did not want to admit it, she purposely said it was an Ultra Ultra Rare item, which was impossible to get.

'Isn't that bad?'

[Nope. It's not that bad, considering how powerful the real might of Undying Fire Body is.]

'True enough.' He agreed. In the first three stages of refinement, he would have a qualitative leap in his absorption speed. She could show herself to Song Yu since she had met her. Though she did not reveal her human form to avoid her from knowing she was a bit different from other monsters.

I might not be there when you need me the most, so it's better not to get close to a person like me. Besides, I am also a bit skeptical about this thing." He stretched his hand to Sherry as she came to his lap, sitting comfortably.

Though we don't really need to do it with my father as the host, it seems he wants to have a double layer of protection.

"You are going to bid it, right? Do you want me to bid it?" Song Yu asked.

Alex pondered for a moment before saying, "Sure. Just don't rip me off, alright?"

"Haha... I don't want to be hated by you, so don't worry. As a daughter of a merchant family, I know how to bid it."

"Actually, I take that back." He just observed the last few items and noticed that despite having a staff from the Blackwade Clan, they did not ask them to bid on their behalf.

Considering the relationship Song Yu has with the Fire God Clan's young master, it would be better if he bid it himself. This way, he could avoid any trace of jealousy and fight him with money alone.

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah. It's fine." Alex nodded before patting Sherry two times in the head, signaling her to come back.

"Alright. I will just stay beside you. From my prediction, Fire God Clan only brought three million Spirit Gems. They had spent one million, so you should be able to win this easily."

"That's good then." He nodded, rose from his seat and walked toward the window without any change in his expression.
