590 Lizards

Alex waited for a whole week until the Spirits could use their True Spirit Body again. If he was defeated, he could run to this door again before running away to the surface if the monsters actually chased him. If he emerged victorious, Anna and the others might even reach 10-Star Martial Emperor Stage, giving a sense of security when they came to the Underworld.

On the other hand, the place he searched for might not be like what he expected and left with disappointment. Nonetheless, Alex was satisfied if he could kill these many high-level monsters, unlike the one outside since most of them were 4-Star Martial Emperors or below. It also became the proof that these monsters were protected or this place hadn't been touched for a few thousand years.

Alex wanted to know what was inside this place, learned everything he could, and used all of it as something to make him stronger. 

"By the way, will your True Spirit Body be undone if you enter the card?" Alex asked, confirming the only matter that made him hesitate: "If it is undone, I need to teleport all of you guys."

Before the spirits could answer him, the system already beat them.

[Don't worry, Host. It won't. The True Spirit Body is essentially one day long. As long as it's not the case like Leoz when fighting the Joyful Union Sect, it's safe.]

"Oh, System. I haven't seen you in a while." Alex exclaimed in amazement.

[Have you forgotten about me, Host? Even though I will give you the last type of Gacha after you reach Monarch.]

"Wait, really?"

[Yes. It's going to be a good one for you.]

"What is it? How about giving me the special mission right now?"

[I'm sorry, Host. The mission is a secret for now. You will know about it before you start your lightning tribulation.]

"Fine," Alex said after hesitating for a second. "Anyway, thank you for the clarification." 

[Yes. We will meet again after you finish this place or the Black Devil Sect's reinforcement. Remember to use the Gacha Tickets at that time.]

"Yeah. I won't forget." Alex shrugged before looking at his spirits again. "Sherry, Kyle, come back inside my body. Anna and the others can activate your True Spirit Body right now."

"True Spirit Body." The spirits nodded and activated their True Spirit Body without hesitation before turning into lights that flew inside Alex's body.

Checking the room situation one last time, Alex snapped his finger and created a teleportation array beneath his feet.

In a blink of an eye, he arrived right inside his destination. The tunnel itself wasn't too big, around ten meters wide. In other words, there should be approximately twenty lizards charging at once. It was still in Alex's expectation, so Alex quickly summoned the spirits and contracted beasts.

His voice echoed through the tunnel, reverberating in every lizard's ears. They quickly woke up from their slumber and noticed the intruders. 

"Scree!"

"Scree!"

Their rallying cries resounded across the tunnel, waking the rest of the lizards. However, before they could react, Alex already appeared right in front of the lizards and took advantage of this sudden confusion by swinging his sword.

"Triple Draws."

Alex observed the lizard in front of him. It had a cream-colored belly with a black and orange line on its back. Their eyes looked sharp, but they still had a fuzzy movement because they just woke up. Even so, the lizard still raised both arms to block Alex's attack, albeit it met Alex's Triple Draws.

Two slashes indeed struck at both arms. It managed to block Alex's slashes with both hands, amazed Alex. Even though he didn't use Heaven Light Slash or any other attacks technique, it was still covered with his Domain. But his sword didn't manage to graze it, let alone injuring it.

Luckily, it was Triple Draws. The lizard might be able to protect itself from the first two strikes with its strong hands. However, Alex had the third slash, aiming at its belly, which was supposed to be their weakness.

Alex smiled when he noticed how his slash was finally connected the moment it touched the belly. It continued slashing every muscle in the stomach before the blade appeared again behind the lizard. 

"Scree…" The lizard fell while uttering its last word.

Having no time to look at the lizard, Alex leaped forward while activating his Pure Fire. The Phoenix Seed once again cracked open and let out the Pure Fire. The tunnel might not be huge enough to hold his Fire Phoenix, but it could host many firebirds inside.

Sherry and Kyle also followed his lead by summoning their own firebirds, raining them down toward the crowd of lizards.

"There are around two hundred lizards in this tunnel, so we need to be fast and help Fabio's group after this." Alex roared while controlling his firebirds as he jumped forward to another lizard. "Triple Draws."

At the same time, Anna mainly used her Dark Cut because she couldn't control the mind of these magical beasts with her True Spirit Body. Anna became the useless one in here, so she decided to kill as many as possible with her Dark Cut since it could pierce the lizard's body. Sometimes, it killed two or three, but sometimes, it was only one. Anna didn't care about it and continuously moved forward with caution.

As for Sherry, she suddenly turned into her original fox form and fought them in that state. Alex wanted to finish this as quickly as possible, so the only way to let that happen was to fight with her original form. Hence, she used her extraordinary strength coupled with Fire Claw to mow them down one by one while controlling her firebirds. Sherry became one of the main attackers in this tunnel. 

Kyle also controlled his firebirds while occasionally using his Flame Lotus like how Stina used it. Unfortunately, he couldn't use his original phoenix form because this tunnel was too small for that. 

As for Artur, he summoned a few swords and let them hover around him. This technique looked like the one that Alex used back in the Heavenly Sword Sect, where he controlled twenty swords to overpower his enemies. But Alex found something amazing. Artur shot all the swords he had toward a few meters in front of him, mainly around the lizards. 

The moment he arrived in front of the lizard, he would take the sword and kill the lizard with that sword before throwing it again. If the lizard somehow blocked his attack, he simply let go of his sword and pulled out another sword to kill them. At first, Alex thought such a fighting style would bring disadvantages to Artur, but Artur's footwork perfected this style. Even Alex couldn't find a gap in his footwork in a short time.

Knowing Artur would be fine, his gaze changed to Jean. Alex opened his mouth in amazement because Jean released a few high pressurized water slashes that seemed to contain enough sharpness to kill the lizard in an instant. Unfortunately, the lizard was sturdy enough to block this attack. It took Jean three water slashes to kill a lizard, and this made Alex wonder how he would fight the lizards later. In the end, Alex thought Jean could just flood the tunnel to send them back where they belong. 

Of course, one couldn't forget Anya in this place. Only because of her they could advance like this. Anya shared a part of her power to increase their power as usual. In a battle like this, Anya power was one that would be drooled by many influences, especially peak influence. Theoretically speaking, in the fight between 10-Star Martial Saints, the one that Anya decided to boost would be the winner. It was enough to show how scary her ability was. Luckily, Anya skills didn't have any outstanding appearance that could invite that kind of thought, so Alex was pretty happy.

Alex nodded at them after seeing their performances while killing the monsters. He didn't forget to see what kind of stone that made this tunnel, checking whether they had the possibility of collapsing after getting a powerful impact or not. 

Apparently, his worry was unnecessary. He found out that the stone had mutated a little bit. The original stone was called Muss Stone, where it could stand a normal Martial King attack easily. After mutating, this stone should be able to block an attack of a peak Martial King. Although it wasn't hard enough for Alex and the others, it should be enough to let them fight in this place as long as they didn't do something big like his Hell Inferno.

They proceeded at an insane speed, killing the lizards one by one and going deeper and deeper. No lizard could stop them from going forward because they were killed in an instant.

The lizards were also somehow scared of Alex and the others. They were dangerous was what their instinct told them. However, seeing how they disturbed their nest, they could only fight them with their life on the line.

Alex didn't know about this nest or what kind of place this was. The only thing he could do was to wipe the lizards out before exploring the place, hoping to find something good. 

"Anna, there is a big one at the end of this tunnel… it's around 9-Star Martial Emperor if not 10-Star. In case we haven't killed the normal lizards, I am asking you to buy us some time, so we can attack it together… if necessary," Alex added the last two words because he was pretty confident in Anna's prowess. A lizard like this should be killed in a short time after considering Anna's strength. 

"Understood."

They advanced for another few minutes before they finally found out that there were no more lizards around the area except the one at the end of the tunnel. Alex and the others quickly made their way toward that place and gasped.

"This." Alex arrived at the end of the tunnel and found a bigger lizard, sleeping comfortably as if it didn't hear the other screams.

The lizard only opened its eyes when Alex and the others arrived at the end of the tunnel. It had the same cream-colored belly, but the color on its back was pure red. The two meters long spiky tail looked very dangerous. Though, there was something more dangerous than all of it, especially from Alex's Spirit Eyes.

"Scree!"

Alex's expression turned serious as he knew that the lizard was a 10-Star Martial Emperor. "This lizard might not be the same species… No, it's the same species, but more like a normal ant and a general ant. You can expect that this lizard has a higher prowess than the rest."

"Understood." They nodded in unison.
