Alex calculated the number of Array Plates he needed to trap everyone from Black Devil Sect. He could somehow trap a thousand people with a single Rank 7 Barrier, but the problem was how they split their group into five with four five-hundred squadrons and one thousand people in the headquarters.
He needed five barrier arrays to trap one group or three thousand people in total, and he fought with five groups. In other words, he needed to make twenty-five Array Plates for this operation. Of course, he couldn't forget about the Gathering Array to power up this Array Plates so they could stay for at least an hour.
Alex made a total of fifty Array Plates in a single day. It was quite an achievement, only for those with a strong soul like him.
Although it was a bit costly either for the monster blood or Spirit Gems, they needed to speed up this process.
After finishing his last preparation, Alex recalled everyone back to their cards and used his teleportation array.
He stopped not far away from those disciples. He summoned every single spirit. "It seems they are too scattered at this moment. A group of ten, if I'm not wrong."
"Yes. They are not too far from each other, though." Nelson nodded.
Alex narrowed his eyebrows, feeling there was a hidden meaning in Nelson's words. He thought for a moment and opened his eyes wide, saying. "You want me to be bait?"
"As much as I hate this plan, this is the only way to gather their attention." Nelson closed his eyes in regret.
"I don't really mind about it as long as it's effective." Alex shrugged. He thought for a minute before saying, "I will appear right above them and attack with some sort of flashy attack to garner their attention. Considering their number and positioning… You are going to activate the array, Nelson."
"Yes. I will activate it at the best time." Nelson nodded.
"On the other hand, I want all of you to spread around… Anya can support us while Greg protects her. As for the other eight, including Nelson, will spread toward eight directions. I will be the center, so when I start attacking them, you guys can wreak havoc from their back before making your way toward me." Alex said.
"Understood." The spirits nodded. Anna looked down for ten seconds and asked Alex, "How about the True Spirit Body? Are all of us going to use it at the same time?"
"I believe we can destroy four groups before one day passes with their number and positioning. That's why I want Vera, Fabio, and Jeanne to hold until we eradicate the second group. These three will surely last until we wipe them out. As for the other spirits, I will see what I can do with the EXP Cards." Alex explained.
"Are you worried about your instinct taking over? If you think that way, you can undo your True Spirit Body and attack them normally. There might be a time I will use your Thunder God Cannon. Killing a hundred people with that should be fine, and if I raise your level once, it will be perfect." Alex nodded with a gentle smile, ensuring Leoz.
"Understood. I will hold as long as possible… Assuming my fighting style, I will be out after killing six thousand people. Still, I will surely kill as many people as possible." Leoz nodded with a serious expression.
Everyone knew that Leoz would surely do that, especially with his 6-Star Martial Monarch strength.
"Alright. Go to your position." Alex ordered.
"True Spirit Body!" Seven of them quickly used their True Spirit Body.
"Life Blessing." Anya tapped the ground twice with her wand as light glowed from her staff and flowed inside their body.
Alex and the others felt the power-up in this skill. For Alex, he could somehow feel that his power had reached the 10-Star Martial Emperor. He took a deep breath before saying, "Go!"
They had finished their preparation, so they disappeared right after hearing that signal. Alex waited for one minute before he snapped his finger, creating a magic circle beneath his feet.
He blinked his eyes for a split second, and he was already above the sky. Alex looked upon them, and even some of them had noticed him in the sky. They frowned, not knowing Alex's identity. However, they remembered a certain explanation from their elders.
The attacker wore a mask to hide his face, and somehow they could relate it with this person. Alex smiled and took advantage of this 0.1-second confusion to create a huge phoenix and hundreds of firebirds in the sky.
He sent all those firebirds toward the ground, scattering them around to hit as many as possible. On the other hand, the phoenix went to a group of three, blasting them into smithereens.
"Boom Boom Boom!"
"That is the attacker!"
"Attack him, but make sure you don't kill him. We need to extract information from them. A few of you go to the Headquarters to inform them about this." The person that seemed to be the commander roared.
"Attack!"
Alex smirked as it was according to the plan. He waited for another few seconds, gathering more and more attention. The people, who saw him first, managed to react and jump toward him.
Alex took a glimpse of their faces before raising his right hand and snapping his finger.
They were confused about such an action that didn't do anything. However, the moment they saw a barrier suddenly erected to the sky, trapping all of them in a single space, they realized they had been tricked.
Of course, Alex was just bluffing. The flick actually didn't do anything other than bait. He wanted to make them think it was his doing so they would focus on him.
As for the person in question, Nelson, already disappeared and took his own position.
"Attack him!"
"If we defeat him, the barrier won't last."
"Uoh!"
Many of them charged at him while a few others stayed behind and released their Martial or Element Arts.
Nonetheless, they would be shocked again because the barrier was also another signal for another phase to begin.
"Boom Boom Boom!"
A series of explosions occurred in eight directions. Alex could see that Anya was in the west, Leoz was in the north, and Artur in the south. He could only realize these three because they made a huge commotion in a single attack.
"What?" The commander was startled upon listening to those explosions on their rears. It only took him a few seconds before realizing that the masked man in front of him was just a bait. "Not good. The one in the sky is just a bait. We need to regroup!"
Alex already saw this guy commanding the people two times, so he was convinced that this was the commander.
He flicked his finger once again and created an array to teleport him in front of this commander.
"!!!" As expected, he somehow managed to react, considering he was a 5-Star Martial Emperor. Unfortunately, Alex was a 10-Star Martial Emperor at the moment after getting power up from Anya.
"Triple Draws."
"Heaven Light Slash."
Alex released the two techniques with both sword and spear.
"Blood Strike!" The Martial Emperor gritted his teeth and struck at the two incoming strikes. Unfortunately, the ones he struck were yet another baits because the real attacks were coming from the below.
"Uoh!" The Martial Emperor twisted his handle to block the other attacks, but he was too late. The four strikes blew his weapon away before slashing his body into a few pieces.
"What?"
"A Martial Emperor has died?"
"But he is the only Martial Emperor in our group. What should we do!"
The people began realizing Alex's strength and falling into despair.
By listening to these words alone, Alex somehow grasped their entire rank. He wouldn't let them recover, so he summoned another wave of firebirds and attacked them again.
On the west side, Anna raised her scythe before a flock of butterflies flew and filled the region. They perched on the body parts of the disciples before exploding. The dark energy seeped inside their body and controlled their brains. Anna made them commit suicide immediately before moving onto the second target.
"Hmmm…" Anna furrowed her eyebrows. "It seems I can only control one hundred Martial Kings at the moment. Lady luck is really smiling upon us, considering this number is perfect for making a speedy assassination. We might only need less than thirty minutes before sweeping these people off… And Alex's original estimate was an hour… Is he overestimating too much?"
The answer remained unanswered because she didn't ask Alex about it and considered it as her personal rant.
In another direction, Nelson also finished assassinating ten Martial Kings. These three people were close to the barrier because they were going to report about this matter to their headquarters. His job was to assassinate first so they couldn't react with a big group and chipped away their number bit by bit. He thought this tactic would cost less time and praised Alex once again in his heart.
The same as these two spirits, Fabio and Vera, also did their best in killing as many as possible. They were unstoppable because their gap was too far. After all, they were 10-Star Martial Emperors, while their enemies were only Martial Kings.
The spirits did all their best to wipe the enemy out. If someone actually witnessed this, they would only describe it as a one-sided slaughter. It wasn't even a fight despite their numbers.
It took them precisely twenty-five minutes to wipe them out. Including the bait and the barrier, it was safe to say this took them thirty minutes. As soon as they wiped them out, Nelson took off the barrier and turned into a stream of light like the other.
Alex used teleportation again to appear in front of another group. They used the same tactic, and though they couldn't say it was the same, their reaction and decision were similar to the first group.
In two hours, Alex and his group finished his task with only the headquarters left. He had another meeting with the spirits to discuss this.
"So, this headquarters is more organized because there are many high-level people in this place. However, there is one thing that we can take advantage of, it's how they are not too separated." Alex smirked evilly.
"Oh, you are going to assassinate them?" Anya agreed with his plan.
"It's correct but not the full answer. We are going to assassinate them." Alex said mysteriously.
Anya instantly recognized his plan. "We… I see. You are going to use your Spatial Gate to infiltrate their ranks. We are going to assassinate them at the same time and kill all those Martial Monarchs. After that, we will wipe them out."
"Yeah. They are not scattered like the first four groups, so we only need a single barrier in the center to trap them." Alex shrugged. "Besides, I'm happy with how we are ahead of our schedule. We might be able to finish all of them before one day passes. Of course, there is no change of plan considering the timing to use your True Spirit Body."
"Indeed. But how about who deals with who?" Anya asked.
"Nelson and Leoz will kill three Martial Monarchs each. I'm sure this is the limit before they find us. If they are using their Berserk Pills, I'm going to teleport us outside. Then I want Anna to use her dark butterflies to kill as many as possible. Don't worry, since we are outside, I will open the gate." Alex smiled.
"Only after the effect wears off will we attack them again. At that time, they will most likely fall into despair after seeing ten Martial Monarchs die just like that." Anya grinned.
