825 Closing the Portal

Name:Gacha Sovereign Author:Fixten
The Divine Kingdom managed to beat the Lightning Gate a few hours after Alex finished. Jean was repelling the enemies' attacks, so the group could swiftly kill the monsters. And with how his water couldn't conduct electricity, he could flood them to restrain their movement. Elizabeth coordinated her subordinates well, almost to perfection.

The Ancient Blue Family was the third one. Although it was hard to break the Earth Element monsters' defense, the family seemed to have undergone a transformation due to Alex giving them the array to mix their blood. At the same time, Leoz, the strongest out of the ten spirits, was with them. It was normal for them to be the third.

The fourth place was Blackwade Clan. And as everyone would expect, Jeanne was the biggest factor they could do something like that. In fact, Jeanne alone managed to kill a few hundred monsters to a thousand, whereas most of the people only got two to four monsters. The monsters inside the elementless gate might be strong, but it was still nothing in Jeanne's eyes. Song Jiaoren decided to attack with Sherry as his core and succeeded.

The problem would be the Water Gate, Light Gate, and Dark Gate.

Letizia was struggling. She wasn't as powerful as Alex in terms of cultivation base. Even with her Sword Technique, she was still unable to get an advantage. Evelyn and Angela were doing their best, helping Letizia in her struggle.

Alex offered to help her, but Letizia refused, asking Alex for another day. And finally, she managed to subdue the parent monster, albeit barely trapping it inside an ice cube.

The Light Gate was not that different. Even though Artur was strong, their opponents relied on blinding light or illusion. Artur was immune to something like that because he had the same element, but it affected the rest of the disciples greatly.

They were struggling to fight those many monsters with less than half of their numbers. Still, Artur took the lead and blasted the monsters to smithereens.

The Light Temple and Dark Temple helped neutralize the illusion as they proceeded in killing more and more monsters. After two more days since Alex subdued the mammoth, they finally managed to catch the parent monster.

As for the last gate, the Dark Gate, this was the most severe. Anya couldn't move at all due to the number of people affected by curse or poison.

Phantasm Sect was struggling with their might to the point Alex sent Nelson and Anna to help regarding their opinion.

They finally regained their ground with the addition of two people, striking back with the two as their leads and subduing the last parent monsters.

"No. I don't know if I can kill it in a single hit, so I will just leave it to Master." Rose shook her head. Although it had been severely injured, Alex was the safer option, so she didn't want to risk it just because she wanted it.

Alex stared at her for a few seconds and nodded his head.

Grabbing the token, he poured his Spiritual Energy into the token, waiting for the others to respond.

He waited for a minute before the token shone, projecting a number.

60

Alex instantly recognized it was the time to kill the monsters.

"Alright, in a minute, we are going to kill them." Alex nodded before glancing at the spirits. "We will discuss the next battle after regrouping with the others. There are thirty-four 10-Star Martial Saint monsters, so I am a bit worried."

The group nodded their head, glancing at the time that had turned to 30.

It continued counting down.

Alex raised his sword when there were three seconds left. The fire began covering the sword, ready to cut the chain and the mammoth into two. He had another reason why he attacked the mammoth brutally. Due to the fact that he needed to keep it alive for a few days inside an array, he needed to supply his own Spiritual Energy to it, so he didn't want the mammoth to struggle inside the cocoon and just accept his fate.

0!

Alex waved his sword, using his Triple Draws and Mythical Fire Slash at the same time. It looked a bit too brutal, but Alex didn't want to risk it and became a failure.

The Sword Waves split the mammoth into half, along with the chain and the array.

[EXP+ 100]

He had an absolute measure as to whether the monsters died or not. And when he checked his entire notification, the other six EXP notifications seemed to appear as well.

"Hmm… It seems they are handing the matter to us because they are afraid they can't take it down in one hit. Anyway, our job is done." Alex informed, looking around to see what would happen now that the parent monsters died.

Yet, nothing happened for a minute until someone opened the gate again. A sound reverberated in everyone's ears no matter which gate they came in.

"The monsters have been defeated. Please come out!"

Alex glanced at the others and used his Teleportation Array to be the first to arrive.

"What are you going to do?" Alex found Shakdi outside the gate while the rest were a bit farther from him.

"We are going to activate the tower once more. This place is still full of energy anyway due to many monsters being killed a few years ago. I will use that energy to close the portal and completely seal the entrance.

"The monsters that can influence the entrance are no more, so I believe there won't be a single portal appearing in this world anymore." Shakdi nodded with a smile while glancing at the gates.

The parent monsters were the monsters that could influence them because they seemed to have a direct connection with those on the original planet. With them gone, the monsters wouldn't be able to transmit any more power to here, let alone creating a portal.

In other words, they had succeeded in repelling the monsters. Alex nodded. "There is a single job left for us then."

"Yes. As soon as we close the portal, we can start killing the monsters. I believe this world has enough power to eradicate them."

"Still, with so many monsters dying just like that… Humanity will get its populations reduced to a great degree since fighting three million monsters is easier said than done. At the same time, the economy will also be ruined, especially with how many monster parts that can be used for medicine and other things." Alex sighed.

"Yes. The economy will collapse, but I believe it's still far better than having our home destroyed."

"I agree. But I won't be a part of the new society that will soon be created after this."

Shakdi widened his eyes a bit and gently smiled. The reincarnation of the Spirit God, if he didn't become a God Rank Expert, who will? Shakdi clasped his hands and bowed. "Then, I, on behalf of the Gods and Goddesses in this world, thank you. Our world won't forget this or your effort in the past."

"It's my pleasure." Alex stretched his hand, shaking Shakdi's hand. The rest of the Gods and Goddesses also shook Alex's hand gratefully.

"By the way, you don't mind if we start the process first, right?"

"Yeah. I am waiting for my teammates to return too." Alex nodded.

Shakdi then walked forward and signaled his friends to take on the position. Out of the twenty people, sixteen of them stood upon the eight gates that had been shut down, and the rest stood in the middle.

The four exchanged looks and nodded with a solemn expression, sending a gesture that they would proceed now.

An array suddenly emerged from the floor, starting from a smaller array that enveloped only four of them to a larger array that connected everyone.

Alex stepped back outside the array, watching how the symbols spread all over the tower and shining in golden light.

It looked majestic. He activated his Spirit Eyes to see how the energy flowed around the area, only to find it was sucked by the wall of the tower.

Following the golden symbols, the stone wall that had been clad with gold finally revealed its appearance. And it turned out behind the golden layer was a green jade.

Alex investigated his surroundings and found a huge amount of energy coming from forty-five degrees on his left, realizing it must be the energy from the Ancient Battlefield. He almost forgot the fact that this tower was located in a different place than the Ancient Battlefield. And the pillar was the one connecting the two places.

The tower kept sucking the energy until it covered the whole tower before shooting it upward.

In front of everyone here or Ancient Battlefield, there seemed to be nothing happening. But for those on the surface, a white light pillar emerged from the ground, piercing the sky.

Some of the elders remained on the surface to lead the forces to move, but the moment they saw this phenomenon, they were dumbstruck.

"What is that?"

"A white pillar?"

"No. It must be a Spiritual Energy… I can feel it."

"But what kind of thing can release a massive Spiritual Energy like that? This is insane."

Suddenly, another white pillar penetrated the cloud from above, heading toward the huge portal. It swallowed the portal along with the Ancient Ruin.

And yet, they somehow saw something beyond belief.

"Wait. Did you notice that the portal shrinks?"

"Huh?"

"Look! The portal keeps shrinking. The monsters coming out of the portal are also obliterated by that light."

30 meters…

20 meters…

5 meters…

1 meter…

All people rejoiced when they saw the portal vanished into thin air. And the elders who remained on the surface immediately shouted, remembering the instruction from their leaders. "The portal has been closed. It's time for us to strike! All disciples, attacks!"

"Ooh!"

They started marching. With most monsters coming to the Ancient Battlefield, they got the upper hand in this battle, pushing the monsters back.

Meanwhile, Alex was watching the entire process from the shining wall to dim again. Shakdi and the others finally turned around, looking at Alex.

"We have closed the portal, and this tower will maintain it for a few days. If we eliminate all those beasts, there won't be any connection between the two worlds, so please." Shakdi bowed his head.

Alex nodded. "Leave it to me."

Not long after he said that, the group started coming out along with his group. Alex brought the spirits to have a strategy meeting before going out of the tower.
