The creature had a rotten body, and he could even see bones in some parts. There were two pointed horns on his head, and their body seemed to get burned when they were dying. The flame was black and seemed to only work to decompose them, so the enemies couldn't study their anatomy.
The weathered veteran beside him turned and inspected him. "How old are you, son?"
The man didn't remember his name. It was hard to recall anything while watching the other army, but he certainly knew that this old man was wobbling around his army and the army on his left.
Another swarm of devils emerged from within the gate, starting to rampage in the front line. The man's face turned pale as he felt tired after fighting all day long.
"Son?" the veteran said with a firm voice. "How old are you?"
"Twenty, Sir. Anyway, you need to go back. The devils are going to swarm this area soon."
The veteran ignored his concern and asked again, "And what is your name?"
"Ai—" Before he said his name, a red dragon flew over them and released its breath, burning all the devils away. "D-dragon!"
'That's right. This is Dragon Valley. They have been stationed here to aid the Dragon Valley to keep the devils in check and not destroy the world.
"I am—" Since there was an intervention, the bearded man decided to introduce himself first, but to no avail.
*Roar!* The dragon roared in pain as its giant body flew back and crashed to the ground.
A grey colored devil appeared among them this time, looking at the battlefield from the sky. "Pathetic. To think they can't even pass this place after three months…"
*Roar Roar!* The dragon rose and charged at him again, only to find himself flying away and crashing in a nearby huge rock, dragging a few humans to death.
"Shut up, you lizard."
"Impossible." Even the old man was in shock this time. "That dragon is a rank 9, which is the peak of this world. To think a dragon like that is toyed by this devil… Are we going to lose this place soon?"
*Cry!*
Suddenly, a blue-colored bird covered with flame appeared, and everybody on the battlefield recognized it.
"The Blue Phoenix?"
"Even the Blue Phoenix can't fight this devil."
"But it's the one and only Blue Phoenix in this world…"
"Can't you see how easy it is for that devil to blow the dragon away? The Blue Phoenix will be in the same state soon."
"Wait, who is that on its back?" One of them noticed the two people riding the Blue Phoenix.
The devil flew toward Ian, trying to kill it. However, Ian only floated in the air without a change of expression. The devil thrust his hand, trying to pierce the skull of Ian. "Die!"
A translucent golden barrier suddenly appeared, protecting Ian from the devil. The two people on his back stepped forward, standing tall on top of Ian's head.
A voice resounded through the battlefield, surprising anyone because it was a young man's voice. "To think they send a Martial Master this early… I am impressed."
"A Martial Master? How can you know that term?" The devil widened his eyes. No one in this world should know about the Martial Master, but to think a man knowing them presented himself before him. This man must be extraordinary, he thought.
"You don't need to know that. I only want to know what thing the devils want to get from this world…" Alex looked down without a change of expression.
"Hmph. You are not qualified to know." The devil snorted, sensing no Spiritual Energy from Alex. After that, he summoned a black flame from his fist and punched the air, channeling the fire toward Alex.
"Watch out!" The war veteran shouted.
Alex raised his hand, coated his hand with his intent, and waved it down.
In an instant, the black flame split into two, and the shock wave took the devil's right arm.
"Argh! What is that?!" The devil clutched his bloodied arm and looked at Alex. His confidence suddenly disappeared because of the previous attack. 'There is a human this strong? I need to inform you of this.'
"!!!" Alex saw the devil turning around, so he immediately leaped and appeared before him, kicking him toward the ground.
*Bam!*
Without anyone realizing it, the devil already crashed to the ground, creating a huge crater. The soldiers and the devils were shocked, and the battlefield fell silent for a minute.
Alex walked toward the devil and looked down, asking, "What is your target of this world?"
"Who are you?!" The devil gritted his teeth, looking at Alex hatefully.
"I suggest you tell me everything I want to know unless you are ready to get destroyed, including your soul." Alex narrowed his eyes, demanding the answer from his tone alone.
"You won't get anything from me!"
Alex twitched his eyebrows and stomped his right foot, crushing it until it looked like paper.
"Argh!" The devil screamed in pain, looking at Alex with fear.
"Say it now." Alex squinted his eyes before using his fire to burn his hand.
"Ah!"
"Argh, stop!"
"Please stop."
The devil's voice kept echoing on the battlefield as he was tortured by Alex.
"I will talk… I will talk… Just please let me die." The devil couldn't contain it anymore. Alex kept healing him with his pills every time he wanted to die only to torture him again.
"Talk!" Alex said coldly, waiting for two seconds but heard no answer. He burned his foot again.
"Argh! I will talk! It's a black flower and white tree. I don't know anything else other than that."
Alex didn't believe the devil and tortured him a few more times, and the answer didn't change. Alex then decided to kill him.
Seeing it had ended, Ian and Mithra finally joined him.
At the same time, a few important looking soldiers, including the veteran from earlier, walked toward him.
Alex glanced at them and asked, "What do you want? And where is your leader… What I want is a Dragon Leader."
"Wha-what do you want?" The soldiers became wary against him. If they gave away the position, it would be disastrous if a person as strong as Alex came there.
However, three giant dragons flew in the sky, approaching the battlefield.
*Roar Roar!* It roared as if it was trying to search the opponent that trashed the dragon earlier, only to find Alex controlling the energy to gain their attention.
Ian flew to the sky to confront the dragon and cried, telling them to cease their action. The dragons were surprised to see the rumored Blue Phoenix with their own eyes and decided to talk with him.
The talk lasted for three minutes before Ian returned to Alex's side, telling him those dragons wanted to meet him, especially talking about the cooperation in the past. They wanted him to visit their king, but the condition was a bit unstable due to the incoming devils, so they were going to eliminate them first before escorting them.
"I see. Thank you." Alex nodded and smiled. "That is easy then."
"Sir Alex?"
"Sorry, Mithra. You won't have the chance in this." Alex walked toward her before disappearing. The next instant, blood spurt from all directions like a fountain, raining the ground. Even without his Divine Energy and Divine Soul, Alex could still handle this much without a problem since his opponents were still Foundation Rank, not even a Martial Master.
It shocked the entire battlefield once again, thinking if God actually descended and helped them.
Before anyone realized it, Alex already took Mithra and hopped on Ian's back, asking him to fly toward the dragons.
Ian nodded and flew to the sky before asking them to escort them.
The dragons sweatdropped and nodded repeatedly. They wondered whether it was right or not to invite such an existence to their home.
However, it would be better to escort them rather than having him search for it. Nothing good would come in the latter case because Alex might kill a few dragons just to get the position, and this would only lead to a grudge between Alex and the dragon race. The result? Dragon race's complete annihilation.
They flew for a few minutes before finding a huge cliff, stretching for almost a kilometer. Alex could see a waterfall one hundred meters in height alone, but he certainly didn't miss the hole behind the waterfall.
"I see. An old trick." Alex muttered to himself.
The group flew past the hole and arrived in a different world. It looked like a different world because the previous green scenery turned into barren land. A few dragons flying around the sky made it look scary for a normal human.
"Sir Alex…" Mithra glanced at him.
"Don't worry. I won't do anything." Alex smiled before he recalled what he saw around the gate. "The portal looks like a blackhole… I can't see anything past it, so it's completely unknown what kind of scenery I will get the moment I get there.
"At the same time, I believe it contains a Divine Rank Teleportation Array to connect the two worlds… Not necessarily Teleportation Array, but something similar to it. Still, the only way to close the portal is to break it with strength or disassemble the array one by one. Well, there is the third option in which the Devil World stops their invasion, but I think that won't happen unless they have succeeded in their objective.
"Disassembling will take too much time, so I think I need to release all my power to destroy the portal. It will be a single attack, so the world won't try to force me out. After that, I will use that portal to sneak inside the Devil World." Alex let out a long sigh.
"Sir Alexander…" Mithra tugged his hands because he seemed to be in deep thought. She wanted to tell him they had arrived, but in the end, she could only point her finger.
Alex's vision followed the direction and found a giant white platform that seemed to be filled with Spiritual Energy. There was a silver dragon resting on it but soon opened its eyes after noticing the incoming three dragons that he sent earlier. At the same time, he found Ian along with Alex and Mithra on his back.
He gradually rose on his four feet, looking at Ian with a solemn expression.
"So, this is the dragon king…" Mithra exclaimed in amazement.
