Chapter 1045: Anatomy

Alex spent the rest of the day in that small hut, watching how Silvia was living this whole time. It turned out that she remained in this hut for most of the time, only leaving when she felt like it. And one time, she got lucky and met Axis, who hurt himself.

Unlike Silvia, Axis had two jobs. The first was to study all the books Silvia gave before finding medicinal herbs in the forest. It would allow him to have more knowledge while having enough experience to discover the medicinal herbs they might accidentally pass by.

During the night, he spent his time cultivating because he needed to have enough strength, so no one bullied him. It was a pretty balanced training menu to be honest.

After getting Alex's permission, Silvia decided to begin the hellish training by training his body to surpass his current limit.

The sooner he started, the stronger he would become.

His current strength was still in the Foundation Rank, considering Silvia only took him in just a week ago.

Finally, the next day, they were ready to leave this place.

Alex snapped his finger and the Holy Emblem appeared behind him. Since Alex wanted to restart their relationship, he decided to trust her a bit more by letting her see the Holy Emblem.

Silvia was astonished by this technique because she could understand how valuable it was if he decided to sell the idea.

Meanwhile, Axis was more surprised by the sight of Outer Space instead of his Holy Emblem. This was the first time he went to Outer Space, so Silvia explained everything to him while Alex kept teleporting them.

It made him dizzy, but he somehow understood what Silvia taught him. After one day of continuous teleporting, he had grown accustomed to it and even began to take note of Silvia's lesson.

They only arrived at a certain planet two days later. The planet was like that of Earth, but he found a lot of light around the area. He thought they would probably stay there to get more information about the planet.

Alex sealed Silvia's cultivation and quickly entered the planet with both of them before hiding his cultivation.

"We have arrived, Mister?" Axis asked while looking at his surroundings. They arrived at the dark side or the night side, so it was kind of hard to see. They were in a grassy plain in the middle of a forest.

Before Alex answered him, he sensed something moving from the left and quickly used his Sound Insulation Array to block off the sound while swinging his sword.

Suddenly, a bat like creature fell down, split into two. He burned the blood, so no one got blood in their body.

"Wha—" Axis couldn't help but stutter and let out the voice again. Luckily, the Sound Insulation Array was already erected, so no one could find them for the time being.

When they took another look at the bat, the body looked like a baby.

"They look like a baby but with bat wings…" Silvia looked down while narrowing her eyes. "This is the first time I have seen this monster."

"Baby with wings? Baby Vampire?" Alex couldn't help but comment.

Silvia looked away before taking out her scalpel. "I am going to take a look at it first. You don't mind, right?"

Alex stretched his hand, telling her to go ahead.

"Your strength is only a Foundation Rank now, so be careful even if you have a Divine Body."

"I know." Silvia nodded and started moving her scalpel. She skinned the creature in just two seconds. "Axis. Come here."

"Yes, Teacher." Axis quickly bent down and looked at the creature. His hands were shaking to see the grotesque creature, but this would be his path in the future, so he couldn't look away from this no matter how hard it is. The only way for him to get rid of that fear was to get used to this sight.

"The Sound Insulation Array is there, so you don't need to worry," Alex added.

"Thanks. Do you mind getting rid of the blood for me?"

Alex waved his hand and used his fire to evaporate the blood. "You are not going to examine the blood?"

"It will take too long. I will just look at their anatomy." She shook her head. "Although it has been split into two, the cut is clean, so I can still understand all the parts here. This small canteen must have so much blood…No, most of the blood that it squirted when it got cut must come from here.

"The eyes are blind, the fangs are strong like that of a wolf, but with smaller size. This certainly doesn't look like bat's teeth…" She furrowed her eyebrows. "The ears are far stronger than humans. Assuming that it moves with its ears, we will find a small ball just behind the mouth. Exactly…"

She found what she wanted to see. "They really move according to the sound. From what I can see, they see the things in front of them from the reflection of a sound wave. For example, even if you don't make a sound, they will still recognize you like a bat.

"You are the only one thinking like that." Silvia rolled her eyes. "Anyway, I think I can understand their weakness if I have around five dead bodies and five living beings."

"Do you want me to catch them?" Alex asked.

"Hmm, wait a minute…" Silvia paused and found something weird. "There is a kind of blast inside their body. I mean, it is not supposed to be here with their anatomy. Do they have something that explodes in their body?"

"Hmm?" Alex used his Spirit Eyes to check the bat and opened his mouth. "I believe it's Spiritual Energy."

"So, this bat can cultivate?" Silvia closed her eyes while pinching the bridge of her nose. "In that case, there is a possibility many of these creatures have evolved."

"Evolved?"

"Yeah. There might be a bigger version of this guy. Just like an ant, you know…"

"I see. According to my information, the queen is using the thing I am looking for."

"The thing you are looking for? Does this mean you have their information?"

"Not really. What I searched was Undying Blaze Root. When the scout saw this creature, they realized that they usually went toward a warmer area. Other than the bigger one, there must be a leader somewhere like a queen. In that case, the most powerful fire energy on this planet is not a volcano or something, but the Undying Blaze Root." Alex shook his head, explaining the entire thing.

"Hmm? In that case, it will be hard to know the location of your Undying Blaze Root."

"Actually, not. We can ask for information to see which one that gets hit the most. We can assume that the queen is well protected, so we will go there."

"Now I understand." Silvia nodded and looked at Axis. "How is it? Do you understand?"

"I don't." Axis shook his head. "I mean, I can see many organs like a possible heart or something, but the mispositioning or all the things Teacher talked about…I don't understand a single thing."

"That's good enough for now. At the very least, you can identify some of the organs." Silvia nodded with a smile. "Continue your work hard."

"Yes, Teacher." Axis repeatedly nodded, happy with the compliment.

"There should be a place to stay there…" Alex pointed at their right. "We can go there and search for a place to get information. I am not planning to kill all of them, so I will only erect a dungeon here and be done with it as soon as I get the thing I want."

"A dungeon?"

"My Space Element comes from the Dungeon God." Alex shrugged.

"…" Silvia twitched her eyebrows. "Should I call you Alex or Freak?"

"The former of course."

Axis chuckled when he watched them. His teacher finally let go of her sadness. She only had happiness during the past few days, which made him glad.

"Why are you giggling?" Silvia glanced at him. "Let's go. We are going to run this time."

"Nothing." Axis made a big smile before following them.

Alex continued erecting his Sound Insulation Room to make sure they didn't get into trouble along the way. Since they planned to go to a place, he had no desire to bring a horde or something by making noises.

Surprisingly, he found a carriage that seemed to be used recently. There was no monster around the carriage, but Alex could find one energy inside the carriage.

"Someone is in the carriage. We should go." Alex pointed his finger. "It looks like a male child."

Silvia nodded and opened the carriage, finding a sleeping boy. He was shivering due to the cold, but he stayed silent while struggling to sleep.

When he felt the cold wind brush his skin, he realized that the door was opened. He covered his mouth with his hand to avoid making any sound while glaring at the door.

Silvia smiled and asked, "Hello. What is your name?"

The boy became even more fearful. His tears began streaming down as if he thought he would die.

"Teacher. He is scared because you are talking." Axis tried to perceive his emotion and warned Silvia.

Silvia patted Axis's head and said, "Don't worry. You can talk for a while. Nothing will come to us. Look at me…"

The boy then realized. Usually, it would only take the monsters a few seconds to get to the source of the noises, but it seemed she was right.

Despite being hesitant, he slowly opened his mouth. "Who…Are you?"

"I am Silvia. I am traveling with my student and my boyfriend. What is your name? Can you tell me what happened?" She put on a gentle smile, trying to calm the boy down.

Axis witnessed the change of emotion, never expecting it could change this fast.

Meanwhile, the boy answered Silvia, stuttered. "I…am Karl. I came from the town and escaped alone. The monsters killed everyone in the city. Everything is burned down."

Alex quickly knew that the light he saw earlier turned out to be the fire that burned a whole town. No wonder it was so bright.

"Then, that town must have been surrounded by those creatures," Alex narrowed his eyes.

"Yes. The warm temperature huh…" Silvia looked down, falling into deep thought.

"Do you know anything about the creatures, kid?" Alex asked.

"I only know that there is a mountain pass on this road. There should be the place I go because it is the opposite way of the star that changes everything."

"Star? Oh, a meteorite. In that case, we know where to go next." Alex glanced at Silvia.

"How about taking this child with us?" Silvia asked.

"It will be dangerous. Well, I don't mind taking him to his destination, but that's it."

"In that case, let's do that. How about it, Kid?" Silvia glanced at the boy.

The boy was about to answer, but the sound of his grumbling stomach echoed in everyone's ears.

"Ah, how long have you stayed in this place?"

"I…" He looked down, embarrassed. "I have been walking for two days…"

"Hmm, this is unique. Your lips don't look like you are dehydrated." She narrowed her eyes. "Anyway, let's eat first. I have talked too long…I should let you eat first."

Alex nodded and magically took out food and drink while asking the boy to come out of the carriage.

The boy's eyes brightened.

"Go on and eat. It will be a long way for you." Alex smiled.

At the same time, Axis looked at the boy with a sad expression. Despite not having his parents or getting bullied, he was never hungry because he could find his own food. After watching the boy at the same age as him, he realized that strength is not less important than skills.
