The Song Goddess followed Leoz facing the Lycan. Leoz's body was covered with yellow lightning. However, his giant blade seemed to be releasing something different than lightning.
When he raised his hand, the answer quickly came.
Rumble.
Rumble.
Loud noises resounded on the battlefield as if they just heard a clap of thunder. This was probably one of the reasons why he called himself a Thunder Berserker God instead of Lightning Berserker. No, it might be related to his Spirit Classification, who named him Thunder Berserker Spirit.
The Song Goddess smiled and gently pulled one string of her zither, neutralizing the loud sound. "Big Brother Leoz, don't be too noisy."
Leoz narrowed his eyes and looked at her coldly. However, Rinrin seemed to not care about that gaze because Leoz was in his True Spirit Body. She knew well how indifferent Leoz could be in his serious mode. Even his muscle-brain element disappeared in his head when he was in this situation. That was the reason Leoz wouldn't keep saying "challenging someone" as soon as he used his True Spirit Body.
Rinrin smiled and said, "I will be supporting Big Brother Leoz from behind. I couldn't do it in the past, but I truly wanted to thank Big Brother and Master for protecting me…"
Leoz took a deep breath and channeled his Lightning Element into his sword. He said, "That's my responsibility. After knowing the hardship one could endure alone, you would grow up just fine… Like the way you are now. Let this body protect you for one last time since I've finally gained the strength to protect you again after you surpassed me and reached God King Stage first."
After saying those words, Leoz disappeared, bringing his sword with him.
The Lycan had a good sense, so he simply looked to the right, finding Leoz swinging his sword horizontally. He simply raised his hand and caught the sword with his palm, showing that his skin was so hard to the point he couldn't pierce.
"I have consumed millions of werewolves. Do you think your sword is harder than my skin?" The werewolf snorted and glanced at Leoz with a cold gaze. He then threw Leoz from him before the Song Goddess made her appearance on the other side.
With her zither on the waist, she plucked one string and released a powerful shock wave to one single direction like that of a whip.
The werewolf had his cheeks bloated before he let out a loud howl, creating the same shock wave as her since both were fundamentally the same, it was sound.
The two shock waves clashed and created a small explosion transparent shock wave that flew in all directions other than the one they came in.
Leoz used this chance to gather his Lightning Element on his sword before he slashed down.
"Lightning Spirit Slash."
A huge crescent-shaped yellow-colored lightning flew forward from the werewolf's blind spot. However, the latter seemed to be able to sense it from a mile away and took one big step to the right without looking.
This move was meant to show how he looked down on Leoz, making him angry to the point he couldn't put his rationality in this fight. The Lycan thought it would be the best chance to win.
But Leoz simply smirked since there was a certain person who could almost do anything.
Suddenly, the Lycan picked up someone's voice, singing, "I have been blessed by the ever-changing path, opening up my dark, gloomy way. For once, I have grown stronger and controlled my own fate."
As one would expect from the Song Goddess, the first was symbolizing the Lightning Spirit Slash that could still be controlled by the Universe. In other words, the song earlier forced the Universe to take control and turn it according to the second verse.
The Lycan widened his eyes when the Lightning Spirit Slash turned around and flew toward him with an even stronger power.
"What?!" The Lycan gritted his teeth and covered his hand with black-colored energy. He struck the Lightning Spirit Slash with that black claw and spread all the energy all over the Sword Wave as it began to disappear naturally.
"…" The Lycan quickly jumped forward as soon as he broke the Sword Wave, still finding his other arm missing.
It turned out Leoz cut it while the Song Goddess maintained the Lightning Spirit Slash. That was why the Lycan tried to escape as soon as possible.
However, as one would expect from a Lycan, the arm had started regenerating at speed visible with naked eyes.
"Do you think you can win against me? I will show you the real reason why I'm qualified to be a God King." The Lycan howled before a blue light shone upon him as if it was trying to illuminate him. Yet his strength rose exponentially.
But what made the Song Goddess shocked was Leoz's reaction. It might be due to that howl earlier, but he seemed to be not in his right mind with his hand clutching his head as if he was in pain. He then charged toward the Lycan with all his power and slashed the regenerated hand.
The Lycan only snorted and disappeared before Leoz instinctively raised his hand to block something coming from above.
The Lycan appeared above him, sending a kick toward Leoz's head but stopped by the hand. Yet, Leoz got blown away from the residual power in that kick before he finally stopped while clutching his head.
"Moon God Empowerment." The Lycan snorted and looked at Leoz. "This power has the ability to increase my overall ability, but that's not all. Coupled with my howl, it can launch a Mind Attack. It works pretty well for someone like you who is fighting something in your own head. This is your weakness. Accept your death."
Despite being told so, there was no movement from Leoz. His eyes even half opened, feeling something weird on his head. This power seemed to be drastically drained of his rationality, turning him into a berserker that couldn't determine foes and friends.
Rinrin tried to play a soothing tune to calm Leoz down, but the Lycan appeared next to her, sending a punch toward her face.
She instinctively raised that zither and blocked the fist with it, only to find it broken.
"What?!" Rinrin widened her eyes, never expecting the Lycan to have this kind of ability. And when she saw black-colored energy covering his claws, she instantly recognized what kind of energy it was.
"Corrosive Energy…" The Song Goddess narrowed her eyes and made a distance between them.
Unfortunately for her, she needed to jump again without caring for her life when she understood the Lycan's real aim.
She quickly went toward Leoz to stop him from using this chance to kill him. The Song Goddess knew that Leoz must be experiencing the backlash of his True Spirit Body. If he became a real berserker who killed both foes and friends, there would be many uncertainties, so she tried to prevent him from becoming a berserker by stopping the attack.
"Big Brother Leoz." Rinrin appeared in front of Leoz while using the Sound Wave produced from a clap to stop the fist, but the Lycan's fist was stronger than she expected.
The fist broke through her Sound Wave and hit her stomach until she spat a mouthful of blood before launching her a few kilometers away. Obviously, she didn't forget to bring Leoz away from him while checking his condition.
"Big Brother Leoz. Are you alright?" Rinrin asked and checked his condition before the Lycan came again.
Surprisingly, Leoz had literally stopped doing anything as if the system in his body just got rebooted entirely. He then placed his hand on her shoulder, smiling. "I see. To think I haven't realized it this whole time and let this little sister of mine suffer… What a bad big brother I am…"
"Big Brother?" Rinrin tilted her head in confusion, feeling something was wrong with him. Leoz looked like he wasn't in his usual state.
"Despite becoming a Berserker God, I have been avoiding the power of Berserker. I have always thought that this power will make me insane after a period of time, so I need to suppress that power. Thanks to you, I have realized I was wrong this whole time." Leoz smirked and released another aura, but this one seemed to be far more powerful than before. "Thanks to you, I know I need to be crazy all the time to utilize my Berserk Law properly."
"Big Brother?" Rinrin's face turned pale. There was a trace of fear apparent in her eyes. Coming from the same orphanage and calling him big brother, Rinrin obviously knew Leoz's past. He had been hiding the fact that he was like a beast before he met Alex. No, in fact, it wasn't like that anymore… He was literally a beast, having no other interactions.
Because his power often went out of control, the others feared him, avoiding him from any of their conversations. Only Alex and the people from the same orphanage would accept him no matter how harsh it was. Of course, it was due to Alex that such a thing was possible.
And Leoz said he wanted to do something he had hated for the past few thousand years? She just couldn't comprehend his actions.
Albeit, what Leoz said completely changed her point of view.
"Don't worry about me. I was originally a beast. No, I should say my past identity as a beast actually defined my power perfectly. So this time, I will just return to my former self and surpass it." Leoz grinned evilly and released all his power, turning his lightning into black.
Like Jeanne's red lightning, this black-colored lightning carried the power of his law. And Leoz deemed this color fitted his personality. "Once again… True Spirit Body. Lightning Berserker Form."
Boom.
