174 My aunt wants to kill me II

Marcus would deal with his father and the wind mage while Lilith would handle Mia and some random knight.

This left Ellie to be the one facing the remaining members of the opposing team.

She wasn't all that excited about the idea honestly, not because she didn't want to hurt her aunt's memory projection, but because she didn't know if she would be able to. Everyone and their mothers would always talk about how Evlin was one of the most powerful mages to ever appear. Not just because she was from planet Earth and the people from there appeared to have a much better grasp on how to perform magic, but also because her poll of spells was unlike any other.

Even if this was still just the young Evlin of when she was just fifteen, she still was a master on earth magic, modeling magic, and healing magic. If Ellie wanted to beat her, she would need to bring out her best strategy possible.

While the girl kept dashing through the forest of blue leaves, she began to listen to the sound of something approaching from behind her.

"What the… Oh my Lord!!!" she shouted as she turned around to spot a massive display of raw magic coming right at her.

She created a huge diamond pillar from below her feet and used it to push her up in order to avoid it.

She managed to land on a tree branch and watched as the blast kept tearing the forest apart piece by piece.

"Whoa… I'm not sure if I can absorb that… Good God..." Ellie muttered as she used this chance to catch her breath.

She tried to lean on the branch to rest for a bit and suddenly saw the image of a warrior with both arms raised while holding a silver weapon and about to strike her with extreme prejudice.

"Oh shoot!!!" Ellie grumbled as she raised her arms to block the strike after turning them into blades as well. Sadly, the impact was stronger than she expected and the branch ended up breaking apart.

The girl began to fall from the tree and noticed the ground coming closer and closer towards her. At that moment, her future sight that only worked when she was in grave danger began to activate and she saw a couple of possible outcomes.

First, she ended up smashed against the ground and breaking all her bones.

"Next!!" she yelled, trying to order the power to show another solution.

This time, she saw herself trying to use the diamond pillars to latch onto and stop her fall. But she was moving so fast that it would be impossible to grab a hold of a diamond without tearing her arm off.

"Next!! Next!! Hurry!!"

Finally, she saw herself making her whole body turn into metal and crashing against the soil unfazed and unscratched.

"I can turn my whole skin into metal??" she asked herself. She then noticed that she was almost about to hit the floor, "Agh!! Time to find out!!"

She moved her legs towards the ground and successfully landed just as she predicted.

"Sweet!!! Unbreakable skin!!" the girl yelled in victory while giving a fist bump towards the sky. She was then surprised to see that the warrior from before was still coming after her and she gave a huge leap to get away from his landing spot, and the second he touched the ground, Ellie turned her arms into a pair of silver crossbows and unleashed a barrage of silver arrows.

"Say cheese!!"

The warrior tried to used his speed that was being boosted by the blessed weapon provided by Marceus to repel the rain of arrows, but while he kept focusing on defending himself, Ellie slowly started to approach him one step at a time.

Once she was inches away from him, the girl turned one of her arms back to normal and grabbed hold of the knight's hand. The man tried to slash her hand off, but her skin was still covered in metal and was impossible to scratch.

He finally stopped wailing his blade like an animal when Ellie grabbed his other hand, and after she gave a long lean back, she headbutted the warrior with her full power, making him fall unconscious on the ground.

Ellie used this chance to grab his blade and tried to absorb it as she would often hear Marcus could do, and just like that, the weapon was gone making the fallen man a much smaller threat.

"Nice! One down-"

Before she could finish, her aunt shot the ground below her, creating a huge explosion of earth and making Ellie fly high up into the sky. She began to twirl like a boomerang after being launched by the impact and the last thing she remembers was seeing the second knight coming right at her and smacking her entire self against the ground, making a small crater in the process.

"Guahhhh!!!"

The impact made her black-out for a split-second and forced her to turn off her metal skin. The girl finally came to her senses and once she emerged from the hole, she was met by the cold gaze of her aunt and the second knight.

"-two to go… Oh, boy..."

Evlin and her ally began to charge at Ellie, but the girl acted faster and slammed her palms against the ground to make several pillars emerge and try to stab her two opponents.

Evlin used her speed that was being enhanced by her healing magic to easily dodge the attack and successfully managed to reach Ellie and smacked her in the face after turning her crossbow into a gauntlet made of wood.

Ellie rolled on the ground with her face full of pain. She was dreading the fact that this wasn't the real Evlin as she really wished she could use this chance to mirror her healing ability right now to make her face stop hurting.

"Ugh... So this is what getting punched in the face feels like... Ugh! It hurts a lot more than I imagined..." Ellie mumbled as she tried to hold her cheek.

The girl saw her aunt coming at her one more time and tried to activate her power to see the future to predict how to respond. She saw Evlin aiming her crossbow at her at point-blank and blasting her all the way to God-knows-where.

Ellie decided to test her luck and raised her arms to activate the ability she got from Mia, and just as her vision predicted, Evlin released a blast of raw magic energy once she was a couple of steps away from her niece.

The two powers collided, Ellie using her spell breaker and Evlin using her giant magic bullet. Ellie assumed she would be able to devour the bullet with no trouble, but the power was much bigger than she imagined and she ended up being pushed back and getting knocked against a tree.

"Guahhh!!!" she screamed.

"Young miss!!" yelled a voice coming from afar. Ellie stood up and noticed Detra running as fast as she could towards her.

"Detra!! I need help!!"

The knight raised its blade and began to approach Ellie as well. Evlin's memory could be seen doing the same. At this moment everyone was running as fast as they could to reach Ellie, making her feel like she was in the center of a giant "Y".

Ellie raised another wall of diamonds to keep herself and Detra away from the two memory warriors right before Evlin tried to smack her with her gauntlet and ending up punching the wall instead.

The impact made the ground shake which caused Ellie to flinch nervously a bit.

"Young miss!!" the woman whispered while analyzing Ellie's state.

"Detra!! Thank God you're here!! Tell me how to defeat these two!!" Ellie begged while hearing the sound of fists smacking her diamonds over and over again.

"What do you mean?? This is just your aunt when she was just starting out as a mage! She shouldn't be that hard to deal with..."

"No, you don't get it!! This isn't just my aunt! Her spells are much more powerful than I imagined! I can't block any of her bullets without being pushed back! Something is wrong!"

Detra covered her lips, "This is bad... The forest must be giving the memories a bigger supply of magic power... At this rate..."

Before Detra could finish, the wall finally began to crack and the figure of Evlin and her knight ally appeared looking straight at the two ladies.

Ellie activated her future sight and moved to block an incoming sword from the knight with her arms turned into blades, but while she was busy handling the knight, Evlin came closer and blasted the girl with an energy bullet in the stomach.

"Aaaghh!!!"

"Young Miss!!"

The knight moved to strike again and Ellie tried to make a shield with her diamonds, but Evlin acted faster and used her earth magic to lock both of the girl's arms to the ground with extremely heavy handcuffs made of rocks.

Ellie tried to free herself but Evlin used this chance to lock the girl's feet as well. She was now completely unable to move.

The warrior kept approaching with his blade aimed at Ellie's heart. The girl was about to panic when her future sight kicked in again and she saw how to get out of this situation.

The girl glared at the incoming sword, took a deep breath, and using all the remaining stamina she had left, mirrored the power from her aunt's griffin and released the biggest howl she could muster.

"ROAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRR!!!!!!"

The knight dropped his weapon to cover his ears from the absurdly loud noise, and while continuing to release her cry, Ellie absorbed the earth magic from her aunt's handcuffs to make them go away, grabbed the dropped sword, and slashed the man with one swing, making it vanish completely.

"Coff! Coff!! Coff!" Ellie began to choke from screaming so much and dropped on her knees after defeating the second memory knight.

From the state of her throat, she guessed she wouldn't be able to use that cry again anytime soon.

"Two down..." she whispered, trying to not speak too much.

She raised herself again and saw her final opponent waiting for her. Her aunt Evlin wearing a pair of gauntlets and glaring coldly at the girl.

"One to go..."
