Chapter 103: Driving Nin Away

Name:Game's Dogma Author:
It was a rather embarrassing way to block the attack, but no one dared to laugh at him, for they all knew Nin’s beam was overwhelmingly destructive. Yet the masked man, albeit in such a laughable manner, managed to block the attack. His attitude of giving it his all, even if it might cost his life, moved their hearts.

‘ARGHHHH!!!’ Drako Yau no longer had the leisure to care about concealing his voice and howled like a cornered beast. Another beam landed on him at that moment—it was Greenstone’s Heal.

A crisp crack could be heard; it was so loud that even Drako Yau’s howling couldn’t cover it up. Moon Gazer, which had been resisting against the deadly beam, lost its glimmer before shattering like a broken mirror, shooting metal shards everywhere.

Nin’s beam also vanished simultaneously as the monster staggered. It was its most powerful attack, and it was apparently its final trump card as well.

Drako Yau was ragged and battered as well. His purlicue was drenched in blood, but he still firmly held onto the tiny bit of shaft of all that remained of Moon Gazer. Two bloody trails were also visible on the ground, left behind by the friction between the floor and his thighs and buttocks during his slide.

‘Guh…’ Drako Yau shuddered and dropped to the ground. He rolled back and forth all while trembling, as if he was enduring some sort of inexplicable pain.

Rage stirred up within everyone’s hearts, especially Idyllic Poet, Danting, and Zephyrwolf. Even players from Allurers were astonished by Drako Yau’s fighting spirit and started bombarding Nin with attacks.

Meanwhile, Greenstone ignored the battlefield; Nin was no longer a threat after it used its final attack and was at the brink of death. He immediately rushed over to inspect Drako Yau, only to find him trembling and shivering, almost like he was having an epilepsy.

Within Drako Yau’s body, an endless torrent of energy was trying to break out of him. The energy consisted of two forces: the energy at and above his chest was blue, while the energy below his chest was as red as flames. The two forces were cleanly divided at his chest level and used to stay put at their respective regions, but they were now two armies battling against each other, hoping to gain territory in the opposite region. His body was their battlefield.

Greenstone placed his index and middle finger onto Drako Yau’s left wrist. The thumping pulse startled Greenstone; the situation was dire. Regardless of which force came out as the victor, Drako Yau was the one who would suffer the most. As the two forces clashed against each other, they also clashed and attacked his innards and blood vessels—it was why he was in such great pain. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

Shock faded from Greenstone’s face, replaced by a serious look. He extended his right arm and opened his palm, then made a fist. Just like that, three green, eerie needles appeared between his fingers.

‘Ha…’ Greenstone let out a long sigh. His eyes appeared to shoot out a bright aura as the three needles disappeared and stabbed straight into Drako Yau’s chest.

There was a moment when Drako Yau thought that dying was the better option. The pain was tearing him apart from the inside. He couldn’t comprehend what was going on within his body either—where did the pain come from?

However, he couldn’t spare the thought another moment as he grit his teeth. The excruciating pain was very close to robbing him of his consciousness, and he was currently holding onto the last sliver of all that remained. If he let go of it, he would immediately die from pain.

The two forces rampaged in his body and attacked each other. Suddenly, three green flames dropped from the sky.

He could hear a sizzling sound, somewhat similar to pouring water onto a fire. As though the red and blue forces had encountered their nemesis, they immediately calmed down. A green aura arose abruptly and knocked the two forces away from the boundary. The red and blue forces were no longer connected, thus they returned to their previous calm state.

Drako Yau snapped open his eyes and saw Greenstone with a stern look.

‘Puk…’ He coughed up a mouthful of blood followed by tiny crimson clumps; it wasn’t hard to tell that they were fragments of his organs.

Seeing him cough up blood, Greenstone actually felt relieved. He cast another Heal, and Drako Yau could feel his pain alleviated.

‘Thanks’, Drako Yau stared at Greenstone and said with much effort.

Greenstone shook his head and remained silent. Now that Drako Yau was recovering, he turned his focus back to the battlefield, though there wasn’t much need for him anyways. Having received Idyllic Poet’s barrage of attacks, Nin let out a loud shriek and hammered the ground with its fists, sending dust everywhere.

Everyone within a ten-metre-radius was knocked away. However, it didn’t deal any damage and appeared to be a forced knockback instead.

‘Successfully drove Nin away! Do you wish to make your squad name public?’

The announcement rang in everyone’s heads. Drako Yau naturally clicked ‘No’. He was keeping a low profile, or at least trying to; he probably couldn’t conceal himself even if he wanted to now. Still, it wasn’t his goal to gain fame and prestige.

Dakki, on the other hand, let out a sigh. It was a good opportunity to make her guild known to the world, but after seeing Drako Yau lie on the ground in such a battered state, she didn’t have anything to say. After all, she had seen him defend against Nin’s ‘certain death’ attack.

Apart from her buff and the two elementalists who dealt damage, her guild members had failed to play a large role at keeping Nin occupied. A core member died in the fight, but it was bad luck more than anything; she was pretty satisfied with the outcome already.

As dust dispersed, Nin’s massive silhouette was nowhere to be seen, replaced by a large pile of firecrackers laying on the ground. It was very tempting, but the Allurers members managed to hold themselves back in the end. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

Apart from levels, Intelligence was also a crucial part to becoming a core member of a guild. The core members of Allurers had come to realise how powerful the five-man-squad was after cooperating with them in the fight; the five could easily kill them all without batting an eye if they tried to jump the gun and steal the loot.

Furthermore, those from Allurers were truly impressed by the five of them, especially the man who defended against Nin’s devastating beam attack.

Drako Yau soon got back onto his feet after using Bandaging and receiving Greenstone’s Heal. However, the first thing he did wasn’t picking up the loot which belonged to his group, but instead picking up shards from the ground—shards of the shattered Moon Gazer.

He was completely serious at it. Many shards and pieces had gone missing after being blown away, but he collected the pieces one by one from the ground nonetheless. The players from Allurers didn’t urge him as he did such a pointless thing. Instead, they only got more impressed at his persistence.

Soon, Greenstone, Zephyrwolf, Danting, and Idyllic Poet joined him in his operation. Seeing such, Dakki gave her guild members a signal, and a few of them also took part in his search for broken pieces. The search went on for 10 minutes before they finally stopped after picking up every visible piece in range.
