Chapter 120: Bloodless Bladester

Name:Game's Dogma Author:
Ever since Bloodless Bladester had lost to Hades and became his subordinate in War of the Daemons, he rarely participated in battles. The last time he fought publicly had been during the Siege event. He followed Hades deep into the enemy lines as part of the Diabolos’ Blade formation and killed the most monsters, but no one knew about it, nor did anyone notice him as he was the ‘nice guy’.

Bloodless Bladester didn’t have a hidden class and was a weaponmaster, a class progression branch of warrior. Despite the name ‘weaponmaster’, the class could only use swords and katanas. The former focused more on speed and thrusting, while the latter dealt greater damage and focused more on slashing.

He swung his katana and sent an arc of sword energy at Drako Yau.

Level 20 weaponmaster skill, Crescent Arc.

Drako Yau looked at the approaching sword chi and naturally didn’t take it head on. He easily evaded the arc with a sidestep, but Bloodless Bladester accelerated at that moment.

Three heavy footsteps could be heard. It appeared that Bloodless Bladester only took three steps to reach Drako Yau and swung his katana horizontally.

‘What was that?’ Every warrior spectating was dumbfounded.

Crescent Slash.

Clang!

Bloodless Bladester’s slash didn’t take Drako Yau by surprise, and he reacted just as quickly by blocking it with his spear. However, another attack came vertically from below the next moment. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

Charging Fist.

Drako Yau intercepted the fist with a horizontal push of his palm.

Their weapons clashed rapidly against one another. Bloodless Bladester’s slashes and slices were getting quicker, and paired with his unique footwork, it had a rhythmic pattern to it.

It was clear that he didn’t have any sort of special equipment. All he had was a unique technique of utilising Dash.

Dash was a Level 5 warrior skill which increased movement speed of a player who was running. It wouldn’t take effect if the player wasn’t in a ‘running’ state. However, Bloodless Bladester somehow managed to trigger Dash’s effect even in close quarters combat at striking range. Under the skill’s effects, he could switch up his speed at will like an unpredictable phantom and strike at Drako Yau with attacks that almost left afterimages.

While Drako Yau was surprised, he didn’t panic at all. Bloodless Bladester was indeed a strong opponent, but he felt that something was missing.

This guy is holding back.

As if his thoughts came true, Bloodless Bladester sheathed his sword after a while.

‘Hoho, I can’t stop myself if this goes on any longer.’

Bloodless Bladester’s forehead was drenched in sweat as his hands trembled. Drako Yau thought Bloodless Bladester was holding back, but in fact he was trembling and sweating because he forced himself to stop fighting.

‘Mask is indeed as bold as always. Underworld will always be your closest friend.’

Drako Yau nodded and clasped his hands. ‘Send Hades my greetings.’

‘Hoho.’ Bloodless Bladester vanished from the pit.

He surrendered!

It also marked Drako Yau’s 68th consecutive win!

The fight lasted for less than five minutes, but it still caught plenty of attention. Many warriors were attracted by Bloodless Bladester’s special technique; if they could grasp how he executed the technique, their combat prowess would increase drastically. As Bloodless Bladester was a member of Underworld, which was a first rate guild, no one dared to make a move hastily.

Anyways, Drako Yau soon faced his next opponent. They were both startled as they stared at one another through the translucent barriers at both ends of the pit.

‘Dan?’

‘Boss!’

The crowd had already forgotten about Bloodless Bladester and were all hyped up at the new match up.

Danting! Little was known about him before he followed Mask’s footsteps and entered the spotlight. When he saw Drako Yau winning match after match in the Arena, the naive Danting held his fist and yelled, ‘It must be the boss’ special training regimen!’

Just like that, Danting also delved into the Arena and… got his 44th consecutive win.

As if Mask alone wasn’t astonishing enough, Danting, who had a hidden class, came out of nowhere and stunned everyone, gathering even more attention than his boss. The reason was simple: Drako Yau’s spearmanship and footwork were too profound for average players to comprehend. From their point of view, he simply fought and somehow ended up defeating the pros without understanding how.

Danting, however, fully displayed his combination of wonderful techniques and skills as a magic swordsman. Everyone was dazzled by his various magic-infused sword skills and array magic, though some thought he was only powerful because of his class. Still, it was a fact that Danting was now on a 44-win streak, defeating a handful of recognisable names on the way.

Right at this very moment, a player on a 44-win streak was up against another player on a 68-win streak! Slugfest—everyone thought it was definitely going to be a cutthroat battle between the two fighters.

Promoted on such a pretence, the number of spectators shot up to 400,000 and was still rocketing upwards.

‘What’re you doing here?’

‘I’m learning from the boss! I’ve come here to train myself!’

The translucent barriers disappear and Drako Yau sighed as he walked slowly towards Danting. Under everyone’s stupefied stares, he knocked Danting in the forehead with a middle knuckle punch.

Flabbergasted, a livestreamer typed on his stream, ‘He… did he just bang Danting on the head…’

‘Is it some sort of special skill…’ An analytical player tried to make sense of the action.

‘But he didn’t try to resist at all.’

While countless players were coming up with all sorts of conjectures, Drako Yau sounded a bit gruff as he said to Danting, ‘Why are you tagging along? I’m just here at the Arena because of a quest. I need 100 consecutive wins to clear my class progression quest.’

‘Oh.’ Danting sounded disappointed. ‘I thought this was your secret training.’

His attitude made a complete turnaround the next moment as he continued, ‘But boss, I met many interesting opponents here! Some were strong, others were weak! It’s such a big world!’

Drako Yau wanted to laugh heartily, but he suppressed the urge; he had to act fierce around Danting. He made a hmph and asked, ‘What do you want now then? Duke it out with me? Come at me, let’s see if you’ve grown up…’

Danting immediately shook his head. ‘No no no… Don’t be angry, boss… It’s bad for your body…’

‘Is he… scolding Danting…’ Another spectator hesitated to speak out his thoughts as Masked seemingly yelled at Danting. Meanwhile, Danting wasn’t annoyed at all and was even appeasing Mask.

‘Is this another special skill…’ An analyst went through the list of skills he knew of. ‘Perhaps it's a hidden class exclusive skill which immobilises the opponent and makes them nod and bow…’

‘Scary…’

Soon, Danting surrendered. The fight only further shot Mask’s reputation through the roof—he easily made Danting the magic swordsman surrender with a knock on the head and by yelling at him. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

Drako Yau was more annoyed than anything. He was hoping to come across powerful opponents, but when up against Danting, he simply couldn’t get serious because Danting was his apprentice. Naturally, he couldn’t enter that state either.

He wasn’t scared of fighting, or rather, he was hoping for powerful opponents because that was the only way he could enter that state. The Arena also restored his body to his relatively healthy state so he could fight to his heart’s content.

Soon, he met the opponent of his 86th match.
