Chapter 147: Godly Spearmaster

Name:Game's Dogma Author:
It was a room flooded by blue lights.

The roof, walls, and even the floor; everything in the room looked like they were made out of countless circuits, with blue lights travelling back and forth the circuits. In the centre of this futuristic-looking room, two chairs were levitating in the air.

The floating seats were occupied by a male and female. From the back of their chairs, two strips of curved metal extended out to cover their eyes like eye masks.

It was the same, old mysterious room.

The female said in a low voice, ‘The last Maverick has completed the first class progression.’

The male nodded and said in response, ‘Let’s start then.’ His voice was as emotionless as always.

‘Okay.’ The female nodded as well.

The next moment, their eye masks gave off a Prussian blue glow. As though the glow was torrents of data, it spread from their eye masks to their levitating chairs. The chairs flickered and flashed like lightning, scattering sharp beams of light into the room’s circuits.

The two were like power generators, pumping endless power into the room which consisted of blue circuits. At the same time, the circuits acted like a pond receiving fresh water, fluctuating and ever-changing…

‘A system update will commence in five minutes. All players, please log off immediately, or you will be forcefully logged off without any guarantee of preserving your progress. The update will last for twenty-four hours. The world will be opened to the public after twenty-four hours.’ (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

After the system made its announcement, every player could see a five-minute countdown in the upward section of their sights. The world immediately went into an uproar. Some players were strongly against the arrangement and condemned the game publisher because they were still in a dungeon, and five minutes wasn’t enough for them to complete the dungeon.

But who cared about the complaints anyways? After five minutes, every single player turned into white light and vanished from where they were—apart from Drako Yau, who was currently stuck in a special state.

The spear of light which connected the heavens and the earth engulfed Drako Yau. He felt something pouring into his mind… or something originally within him breaking out from the depths of his mind. He couldn’t distinguish between the two, but there was one thing he was sure of, and that was new knowledge continued to emerge in his head.

Some were about some weird ancient spearmanship, some were intense scenes of fire clashing against ice, others were moments of a stormy night where lightning and gale swept the lands. What lasted for a mere moment felt as if it had been dozens of years; it was like he had experienced a thousand years in the blink of an eye.

In the end, three people stood before him, who all looked at him with gentle eyes.

One of them was his father, Proudsky Yau. His upright and tall figure seemed like it could keep the skies from falling. However, the ambitious and ruthless hero who forged the leading company in the gaming industry among all Eastern cities was now looking at Drako Yau as a gentle father. He was holding hands with a woman, one that Drako Yau didn’t recognise.

The woman was a beauty. In contrast to his father’s manly and forthright appearance, she radiated the gentleness and elegance of a lady. Her large, bright eyes appeared to be conveying countless words as she looked at Drako Yau.

Although they had never met before, Drako Yau could instinctively tell she was his mother. Ever since he was born, he had never seen his mother, nor did he know who she was. His father only told him that his mother died right after his birth. As such, he never had any feelings about his mother. Yet right now, he was experiencing an unfamiliar feeling—motherly love.

The third person was the crazy old geezer. He was also looking at Drako Yau with the eyes of a father.

What’s all this?

Just when Drako Yau was about to speak, the scene broke apart like a broken mirror before his eyes.

Drako Yau abruptly snapped his eyes open. A moist scent of mud and fresh fragrance of grass permeated into his nose, while sounds of flowing water from a lake and bird chirps entered his ears.

After a brief struggle, Drako Yau got onto his feet. His actions scared away the birds which had been perching on him. Confused, he looked at the azure sky decorated with white clouds and extended his arm in an attempt to grasp something, as if he wanted to grasp his three dearest people in his palm.

Three people whom he held dearest, yet none were beside him. Even Drako Yau, who had always been resilient and tough, felt himself crumbling a little. Despite going through so much, despite once holding so much authority, despite being a genius, he was still a young man at heart.

Soon, Drako Yau regained his usual calmness. Weakness could only be shown in one’s heart, not on one’s face before others; it was an entire school of study in imperial practices. Anyways, he put on his mask and recalled his memories.

His location remained the same: Chris’ lakeside hut, just that the hut was nowhere to be seen along with Chris.

The last thing he could remember was a pillar of light.

Right, class progression.

Drako Yau took out his phone and opened up his character status interface.

The bunch of question marks were still there, though his class was now Godly Spearmaster. Refreshed upon seeing his new class, he checked his skill tree.

‘Godly Spearmaster, a master who wields the spear and calls upon powers from the heavens and the earth to aid oneself in battle. One of the three most powerful classes across the continent.’

‘Godly Spearmaster branches: Tempestuous Thunder, Icy Flame.

Tempestuous Thunder: Borrow the heavenly powers of wind and thunder through communicating with the two elements. Strike as wind and smash like thunder, one shall take the world by storm. Compared to Icy Flame, it has extraordinary swiftness and explosive power.

Fiery Ice: Borrow the heavenly powers of ice and fire through communicating with the two elements. With a sweep of the blade, shroud the lands with ice. With a prick of the tip, bust the lands like a volcano. Compared to Tempestuous Thunder, it has superior strength and controlling capabilities.

Level 20 Godly Spearmaster Skill: Elementary Grasp of Wind and Thunder, Elementary Grasp of Ice and Fire. Increases sensitivity towards wind and thunder or ice and fire (choose only one of the two).

Tempestuous Thunder branch Level 20 skill: Blitz. Initiate a lightning-fast charge at the target and deal lightning damage. May inflict paralysis on the target. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

Tempestuous Thunder branch Level 20 skill: The Wind Rises. Call upon and surround oneself with the powers of wind. Increases movement speed by 5 per cent. (Permanent passive skill).

Icy Flame branch Level 20 skill: Snowy Doorstep. Attack the front by sweeping the spear. Inflicts slowness on enemies when landed. Attack range increases along with skill level.

Icy Flame branch Level 20 skill: Fiery Dance. Call upon the powers of fire and imbue it into the spear. May inflict burning on enemies when landing an attack. (Permanent passive skill).

Drako Yau was somewhat troubled as he looked at Godly Spearmaster’s skill tree. In truth though, the Icy Flame branch was a certain pick due to his cultivation style of ice and fire. It was just that the Tempestuous Thunder branch had a charge skill which he had been longing for.
