Drako Yau returned to Dragon Alliance’s conference room and called Greenstone over.
‘Looking for me?’ Greenstone said before even sitting down.
Drako Yau smiled wryly at the man who had even fewer words to say than he did. First Greenstone, then Val… It can’t even speak though. He then tossed a golden-orange scroll at Greenstone and said, ‘I think you’ll find it useful.’
It was the production method for Mosquito Prickling Needle he got from John. While he wasn’t entirely sure what it was, it probably wasn’t too bad as it was an epic item. He didn’t know what Greenstone’s class was either. Still, he had seen Greenstone wield needle-type weapons several times, so he decided to give it to him.
Greenstone looked at it and nodded. ‘Thanks, it’s useful.’ He left those three words behind and turned to leave.
‘Wait, wait.’ Drako Yau felt his head aching. This guy’s personality really is something…
‘How do you attack others? Honestly, apart from your ranged needle attacks, do you have any close-range skills?’
Greenstone remained silent. They had known each other for so long, so Drako Yau knew the answer the moment Greenstone put up such a distressed look. He tossed another book. This time, it was sparkling gold; even though they were both epic items, there was still a difference in quality.
An epic skill book!
White Jade Palm was no ordinary skill book either. It was an inheritance skill, much like Dumbgirl’s Eighteen Dragon Subduing Palms and Mister Unfettered’s Tingling Fan Dance. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
Drako Yau had thought about it long and hard. He and Dumbgirl had Dragon Seeker, so they naturally had no use for it.
Zephyrwolf had also just started his journey of cultivating after learning the Vitality Mantra cultivation style from Drako Yau.
Danting was more suited for exploring his path on his own with his innate talents.
Idyllic Poet, having received Verity of Flames from the Lord of the Rings quest, was almost untouchable when pairing it with her Phoenix Ring.
Winstrider had become so proficient with Dual-Wielding Rifle Mastery that he could pose a headache for Drako Yau in combat, and that was without him using Noh Firearms Marksmanship. He already had a bright future ahead of him.
As Sasaki was dedicated to the katana, telling him to learn a bare-handed style was wasting his efforts in swordsmanship.
As for Drako Yau’s pals in Evergrand… Hades was a prideful person. Also, he had lightning reflexes and speed, which made him unsuitable for White Jade Palm that focused on power.
In the end, Greenstone was the only one suitable to learn it. As a brawny, two-metre-tall man, the forceful White Jade Palm couldn’t suit him any better.
Greenstone received the skill book and looked into Drako Yau’s eyes. ‘This is too precious.’
Drako Yau smiled. So he can feel bad for receiving a precious gift also. Didn’t he just turn around and walk away after receiving the production method of Mosquito Prickling Needle?
‘Call it an investment. Among our squad, you’re the only healer, the most important support we have. You won’t be as defenceless in melee combat after learning White Jade Palm.’
Greenstone stayed silent for a while before saying, ‘I have a hidden class. Pharmacist.’
‘Pharmacist?’ Drako Yau’s eyes lit up.
Before changing his class, he had seen various hidden classes, so many that it made him dizzy. He still managed to memorise a few notable classes though, and Pharmacist was among them.
If the three godly classes, Godly Spearmaster, Godly Shooter, and Godly Arcanist, were the strongest combat classes, then Pharmacist was a comparably powerful support class. Its supporting nature was the only reason why it wasn’t considered a ‘godly’ class.
Pharmacists had way more skills in their arsenal compared to ordinary clerics. Not just healing skills, but also buffs. It was well worthy of being the strongest healing class. Their weapon of choice was needles, golden needles in particular for healing.
So this is why he uses needles, Drako Yau thought. He didn’t blame Greenstone for hiding his class for so long.
Pharmacists were powerful yet weak because they had barely any means of attacking. Without the protection of teammates, it wasn’t impossible to kill a pharmacist till he was Level 0.
As long as no one knew what his class was, no one could see through his disguise and trump card. Yet now…
‘Why are you telling me?’ Drako Yau asked.
‘Repaying the favour.’
Drako Yau walked up to Greenstone and patted his shoulders. ‘We’ve known each other for almost half a year now. I’ve known Zephyrwolf the longest, but if we’re talking about whom I trust the most, it is you who comes to mind.
‘In the past six months, you’ve saved me so many times that I’ve lost count. There’s too many to count indeed. In battle, I can charge at the enemy fearlessly because I know you are there to back me up.’
For ordinary players, healing others was the most basic duty of a healer. However, for Drako Yau who was a Maverick, healing him held a special meaning. It was no different from saving his life. The time he fought the strange purple man Phantasma Violet, the Where Rivals Meet battle in the Demon City, and the time Greenstone separated his two forces with Ghost Flame when he had accidentally gone off the deep end during cultivation, the fight against Nin…
‘We’re not just friends, not just comrades. We’re brothers.’
The two looked into one another’s eyes. They both remained silent as something… seemed to have sprouted within their hearts.
Greenstone took a step back to shrug Drako Yau’s hand off his shoulder. ‘I know. I’ll look into the Mosquito Prickling Needle, it’ll make me a lot stronger if I can produce it.’ He then left the room in large, hasty steps.
Drako Yau rubbed his nose; it had been a while since he had gotten this emotional.
Not long after Greenstone left, Danting crashed into the conference room and yelled, ‘Boss, save me!’
Drako Yau laughed. Danting never failed to bring a smile to his face every time.
Danting ran up to him with a pitiful look and shook his shoulders. ‘That damned secret chamber! John’s crazy! He sealed my teleportation, and what the hell is wrong with his damage! Disgusting! Boss, how did you clear the dungeon? Teach me please! Teach me! Please!’
‘Alright, alright.’ Drako Yau got dizzy from getting shook so hard.
As Danting was a talented and instinctive person, Drako Yau didn’t have to teach him step by step. All he did was give Danting some tips and let him try it out on his own. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
Danting left the conference room pondering. That night, everyone was stunned by an unexpected announcement: ‘Player Danting has set a new record for clearing John’s Secret Chamber.’
The announcement smacked all those so-called veterans who claimed that the dungeon couldn’t be cleared in the face.
