A sly glint flashed across her long and narrow eyes. “Do you mean it?”
“Of course, a real man never goes back on his words,” Gu Sheng declared arrogantly. Even if he gave this trash a ten-strike handicap, so what?
“I’ll strike first then,” said Mu Qianyue. With a shift of her body, she clenched her fists underneath her sleeves and condensed an intense level of True Essence Energy in her palms, before going straight for that youth’s head.
Whoosh!
Perhaps due to the action being too vigorous, her fists made a swoosh sound as they cut through the air like the wind.
Gu Sheng’s countenance changed greatly as the immense wind came straight at his face. Yet, it was too late for him to dodge, so he had no choice but to receive this strike.
Bam! Receiving a heavy slam on his chest, the youth was forced to retreat backward, only stopping when he reached the edge of the ring. He raised his head, shock in his eyes as he stared at Mu Qianyue. How could a tenth-stage Body-Tempering trash possess such power? This was definitely at least a sixth-stage True Cultivator and above!
Seeing the youth raise his hand, Mu Qianyue reminded with a smiling face, “Didn’t you say you were going to give me a three-strike handicap? Everyone heard that. Or are you going to go back on your words?”
Gu Sheng’s countenance turned dark, overwhelmed with despair. He had been tricked! He was hoodwinked by a piece of trash!
“Off you go, little youth,” Mu Qianyue said with a smile. With a gentle shove, Gu Sheng fell off the dueling platform.
The judge only snapped out of his dazed state a moment later. With a twitch of his lips, he announced, “Mu Qianyue wins.”
The audience went into an uproar. This Mu Qianyue’s luck was way too heaven-defying! How could a piece of trash so smoothly make it into the third round?!
As for the envoys from Sky Ocean Nation, their expressions had turned dark as the underside of a burnt pot. How could they lose this round just like that?! Moreover, how could they possibly look happy when they had just been made fun of.
Nalan Ye gazed at Mu Qianyue lovingly, a gentle yet indulgent smile toying at the corner of his lips. His Yue’er was still as sly and mischievous as ever… But, why was she treating him like a stranger now? He had only been away for three years… she seemed so distant now.
Mu Qianyue descended the dueling platform and returned to her seat.
Nalan Jing said with a smile, “My dear, you’re terrific!”
A chuckle left Mu Qianyue’s lips. “It’s just a bunch of small potatoes.”
In the combat ring, another pair was up next—Nalan Jie and the Fourth Prince from Northern Abyss Nation, Jun Lintian.
As the duo had comparable capabilities, the battle was intense with neither party willing to give way to the other.
Just then, Nalan Jie’s countenance suddenly changed. Sensing something about to flow out from his lower body, he hurriedly clamped his thighs together forcefully a few times, finally managing to force it back in! F*ck! Now was not the time!
However, before he could take a breather, Jun Lintian’s fist came at him and landed smack bang on his stomach!
A dull ‘pffff’ sound rang out, followed by a series of splattering sounds, after which an obnoxious odor emanated from Nalan Jie’s body, stinking up the air and permeating throughout the entire dueling platform!
“Wah! It stinks like sh*t!” Jun Lintian’s countenance changed and he hurriedly leaped ten meters away from Nalan Jie, staring at him oddly. “Was the power of my fist so strong that it made you blast out sh*t?”
With a greenish face, Nalan Jie wanted to crawl into a hole and die. He had no idea why ever since he entered the training grounds, he started having diarrhea. Previously, someone even sneaked an attack on him while he was emptying his bowels, making him fall into the manure pit!
How humiliating! He had to wash himself ten-odd times before he finally cleansed himself of all that filth, nearly causing him to be late for the dueling contest.
And now, one strike from Jun Lintian and he blasted out sh*t. J-Just how was he to face anyone in the future?
Nalan Zheng’s countenance was awful as he watched the duel and he bellowed in rage, “Disgraceful fellow, why are you still standing there on stage?! Get off right now!”
What choice did he have? Nalan Jie left the platform in that disheveled and pathetic state. Naturally, that meant that he lost this round.
“Haha… Phoenix Shadow Emperor, are you afraid we’ll be too bored, so you let your son put up this kind of performance for everyone? But this show is a little hardcore!” The envoys from Sky Ocean Nation brazenly burst out laughing. Previously their Gu Sheng was tricked by Mu Qianyue, causing them much displeasure. Now seeing Nalan Jie make a fool of himself, they got an immense kick out of it.
The entire grounds erupted in raucous laughter. Although Nalan Zheng’s countenance turned even more ghastly, he couldn’t blow up. Neither could he come up with words of refute. At this moment, he wished he could crawl into a hole and hide his face for the next fifty years!
Mu Qianyue’s mouth curled at the edges. Nalan Jie probably wouldn’t be able to face anyone in the future.
Just like in the second round, participants had to draw lots to determine who their opponents were in the third round.
After lining up in the queue, Mu Qianyue drew a piece of paper from the paper box and opened it. “Eh, why is it empty?”
“Consort Jing, you’re really lucky. You don’t have to compete in this round and can directly enter the fourth round.” The judge’s expression had turned numb. This Mu Qianyue’s luck was truly heaven-defying! For her to manage to draw an empty lot, it seems like even the heavens were helping her!
As the top twelve participants were to be chosen out of the remaining fifty, it was destined that one person didn’t have to compete. The other participants looked sick with envy. Damn it, why didn’t they have such luck?
Mu Qianyue’s mouth twitched. “It seems that this round doesn’t concern me anymore.”
The round after that was the final round, and the top three were to be chosen from the remaining twelve participants. Nalan Yu and Jun Lintian were among the top twelve.
As Mu Qianyue didn’t compete in the previous round, she was designated as the last and had to challenge the person ranked eleven. She would only be able to advance if she won, otherwise she would be considered eliminated.
On the dueling platform, Mu Qianyue lazily let out a yawn and narrowed her eyes. She gazed at the other participants and said, “How about all eleven of you come at me together? It’s too troublesome for me to duel each one of you individually. I want to finish this as quickly as possible then go home and sleep.”
What wild arrogance!
The eleven young and competitive participants felt anger surging to their heads, overwhelmed with an urge to dash towards her and teach her a lesson! How dare this trash look down on them! They had to let her know the consequences of acting so arrogantly!
An astonished gasp fell over the audience. Had this trash gone insane? Surely there was something wrong with her brain. To think she wanted to single-handedly take on eleven people?
On the high platform, Nalan Zheng’s brows creased in irritation as he growled, “Do you know what you’re talking about?”
“I never expected the women of Phoenix Shadow Nation to be so bold and forthright. Phoenix Shadow Emperor, since she wants to take on all of them at one go, why not let her have her way?” The envoy from Western Alpine Nation said with a sneer.
Jun Lintian was the first to stand up. With a hint of iciness and mockery in his gaze, he said, “So you are the number one trash in Phoenix Shadow Nation, Mu Qianyue? Interesting. But you need to pay a price for such arrogance. Don’t be so naive as to think that just because you made it past four rounds, you’re invincible now! You need to know that no matter how strong you are, there’s always someone stronger!”
“Mu Qianyue, did your brain go haywire?” Nalan Yu didn’t shift on his seat, merely staring at her with a thunderous expression. To think this lunatic wanted to take on eleven opponents all by herself! She must be mad!
The other nine participants stood out and walked up the dueling platform with sneers on their faces.
Amid the crowd, Nalan Jing remained seated in his seat with a leisurely expression, not a hint of worry in those glazed, intoxicating purple eyes of his, for he knew without a doubt that she was going to win.
Just then, someone launched an attack, thrusting a silver and gleaming longsword straight at Mu Qianyue’s chest with the intent to pierce through her body. With a shift of her feet, Mu Qianyue nimbly dodged from the attack. At the same time, she struck back with both hands, slamming her palms at an extremely cunning angle at the two opponents charging towards her. The two of them were instantly sent flying off the dueling platform.
One strike!
Merely one strike and she had defeated two opponents!
