Chapter 1190 - You Can Even Have Me… If You Want

Jiang Yuning paused for half a minute, then shook his head and said, “That’s too complicated. I can’t make those shoes.”

Nian Xi laughed. It turned out that Jiang Yuning the scientist couldn’t make everything.

“No worries. I don’t need someone to make my shoes,” Nian Xi said with a faint smile. “I only want a boyfriend who pays for every pair of shoes I have my eyes on.”

Jiang Yuning’s eyes perked up. He clumsily dug out his wallet with his thickly bandaged hand and said to her, “I have a lot of money in my bank accounts.”

That silly boy’s sincerity made her heart melt. “But, you’re not my boyfriend,” she retorted.

Jiang Yuning fell silent.

She was right. He was disappointed again.

It was fine. He still had a chance to become her boyfriend. After all, she had agreed to let him clean her apartment.

Jiang Yuning was thrilled about that. He was so confident in his cleaning skills.

Nian Xi noticed all the micro-expressions on his face. She was amused and told him so. She added the fact that he had risked his life to save hers earlier tonight. He could easily win her heart at the moment if only he would just ask her to be his girlfriend. She would have never said no. Oh, what a dummy.

Never mind, we have time, Nian Xi thought to himself.

“What special gears do you have, apart from your shoes? I’m not talking about the comfortable kind,” Nian Xi said. “I mean the kind you used earlier tonight.”

Jiang Yuning thought for a moment, then raised his left hand, revealing an ordinary-looking sandalwood bracelet. “Every bead in this bracelet is empty. Anesthetic needles and signal transmitters are hidden in these beads. My pen can be used as a stun gun, my glasses have night vision, and my watch can detect tiny airstreams that human bodies can’t detect.”

Nian Xi got closer and raised his hand to get a better look at his watch. “This isn’t the same watch you were wearing last time, is it?” she asked.

“No, it isn’t. This is a better version, much more functional than the one you saw.”

Nian Xi didn’t know what to say.

She still hadn’t fully figured out the functions of his last watch, yet his new one was far more functional.

She wanted to ask him for his old watch.

That was…such a waste.

“It was pitch dark in the lab, but you pushed me away from the falling object.” You knew something would fall. Was it because of this watch?”

“Kind of. When the light was off, my watch buzzed quickly. I instantly felt that something was wrong. But I was mainly depending on my glasses.” While speaking, Jiang Yuning pulled out a necklace from his shirt. The pendant on the necklace was a pair of glasses. “These are night vision glasses…”

Nian Xi was amazed.

Jiang Yuning blinked, then said, “This is standard equipment for many international spies nowadays. Well, your job is too… um, you don’t need them.”

“What do you mean?” Nian Xi folded her arms indignantly and asked, “Are you trying to say my job isn’t high-level enough?”

“No…” Jiang Yuning shook his head quickly. “Being a police officer is… honorable.”

“I’m glad you realize that,” Nian Xi snorted. “Without the police, the world would be a mess. So… for the sake of my honorable job, shouldn’t you give me a couple of your high-tech tools?”

Jiang Yuning gave a cryptic smile. A short while later, he responded to her with, “You can have anything you want… You can even have me if you want…”
