~Inside the carriage~
All of them fit perfectly inside the carriage with enough room to spare for 2 more people. They really couldn't disagree with Denear because it might show disrespect and they don't have enough lives to anger the Young Master of the Cornelius family. Bailey on the other hand, was celebrating inside her mind as a mission accomplished. The carriage was in full silence, Denear was quietly sipping his tea and the fragrant smell made their mouths water.
Breaking the silence. "Would you like some?" He started to pour for them tea on the side table next to them.
"No please...How can we let you pour tea for us?" Bailey's mom objected.
"Ummm...." Said the young boy sitting next to Bailey. "Why are you doing this?"
Denear stopped pouring tea. "MARTEN!" Shouted his mother. She turned to Denear and said, "I'm sorry for his question."
"It fine, no need to worry." He looked at Marten. "As for why i'm doing this.....Would you have preferred that I did not interfere and just go in the city by myself?"
"Well...no..."Marten replied, knowing that Denear had just countered his question with a question without answering at all.
"Besides..." Denear continued. "I need someone to act as a guide and show me all the sweet shops in this entire city. So I thought, who better than someone who is already grateful to me and won't try to assassinate me." He said it all so casually, as if he didn't care whether an assassin or assassins attack him.
Bailey turned red and pretended to stare out the window while trying to cover Denear's view of her face. 'He trusts me enough to risk being in danger!? I think I might die just thinking about me touring him around the city!' A train of thoughts and scenes raced through her mind which made her face redden even more.
Denear noticed her trying to cover her face which was turning red. "Huh?" He poured water in a glass cup. He held the glass up to her. "What's wrong? Do you feel motion sickness? Are you going to vomit? Should we stop the carriage?" Denear asked nonstop but at the same time thought. 'I need to go to the bathroom. I can use this as an excuse to stop the carriage.'
She took the glass from his hand. "No, i'm fine thank you..."
Denears thoughts: 'DANG IT!'
Marten and his mother just stared at Bailey in shock. 'This is not how she usually acts...'
Denear sat back in his seat. "I'm really tired from the travel, do you know where the nearest sweet shop is located?"
"Uh yes, just go down that street and turn to the left." She pointed at the street to the right.
"Did you get that?" He said to the carriage driver. "Yes sir!" The driver replied from the outside.
The 10 guards on their horses followed the carriage. Two on the sides, three at the back and three in the front. People moved out of their way seeing that a noble was probably passing by. They wondered who it was but decided not to created any trouble.
"I don't know if this place will be good enough for the Young Master." Bailey said, looking concerned.
"There's enough delicious sweets, right?"
"Yes?" Bailey she said but at the same time thought, 'He really has a sweet tooth? Noted...'
They got down the carriage and a lot of people, mostly women, stared at them and the handsome blonde boy with them. The guards got off their horses and tied them to something and entered with Denear. Everyone saw them enter a pink colored shop and go towards the counter. The lady at the reception didn't even look up and just said in a casual tone, "Hello, welcome to The Candy Crate table for how many?...."
The guards felt really disrespected by her behavior and just couldn't help but get mad. One guard went up to the counter and banged his hand on the table. "How dare you show this much disrespect to our Young Master! The workers and the customers all looked in their direction.
"Who?" The receptionist asked, confused.
The guards burst into anger. "He is the only son of the Cornelius Family, Denear Lorenzo Cornelius, and you dare to say who he is!? Is this how you should act in front of him!? You should just be happy that the Young Master has graced you with his presence."
Denear who was half asleep, listened to their boring useless was literally close to the point of snoring.. 'I need sweets!'
Bailey and her family just stood on the side trying not to get involved. Bailey was on the verge of drawing her sword out of anger. 'He came to you shop to eat sweats and you don't even great him properly!! How dare you show that much disrespect to him..my beloved!!UGH! You should be bowing your head till they reach the ground! So infuriating! I just wanna chop you up and leave your remains for the birds to eat!! But.....right now I need to behave..'
But then the receptionist said something extremely unforgivable.
"Again who? Who is this guy? I don't know him, well, should I?" Everyone in the store froze in horror at her words. Within a split second, a sword was unsheathed and was an inch away from the receptionists neck but a hand had stopped it by the tip. Yes, the sword was Bailey's and yes, the hand was Denear's.
Denear sighed as he said,
"No need to be so rash....."
