Marcus was equal parts furious and relieved. "Ma'am, for your own safety, please look carefully before you cross the street next time!" His voice rose, his anger prevailing despite the immense effort he exerted to control himself. Had he not hit the brake in time, there was no telling what could have happened.

"I… I'm sorry. I didn't see the…" the woman began to stammer apologies and walked towards him. She bent down and apologized.

Marcus couldn't believe his eyes. It was Rachel. Dumbfounded with shock, he could do no more than stay silent and gape at her for a while. He collected himself and replied,"Mrs. Rong. Long time no see."

Rachel was very regretful about what happened. She murmured another embarrassed apology. "I'm sorry, Mr. Ren."

"It's fine. Be careful next time," Marcus replied. Without so much as a goodbye, he turned around and walked to his car. He still had work to do, and there was nothing left to do here.

Before he could reach his car, a piercing crash erupted from behind.

Another car crashed his Rolls-Royce.

A rear-end collision.

Rachel's eyes widened in shock. Judging from the sound and the impact, there must be significant damage. She looked at Marcus, who was wearing a dark expression and gritting his teeth. A second later, the driver of the other car went down, shouting,"What the hell! Are you crazy? Who parks his car on the street?"

Marcus walked to him in quick angry strides and grabbed his collar. "What did you say? Try saying that again. Don't you keep your eyes on the road while you're driving?!" he shouted back.

In the middle of the argument, the man's eyes fell on the car's emblem. A Rolls Royce. His eyes widened as he shifted his gaze wildly from the car to the man in front of him. He paled instantly. Clutching the hands grabbing him, he tried to ease Marcus' choking grasp. "S… Sir, I… I… I'm sorry. Sorry!"

"Fuck off!" Marcus hauled him backwards as he let go of him. The man fell down from the force of it. He scrambled to his feet, not daring to say anything.

Then, he staggered to his car.

Marcus irritation rose as he got into his car again. He slammed the door as he sank into the driver's seat. This was not turning out to be a good day. He just returned to H City this morning, and he had urgent matters to deal with. Otherwise, he wouldn't be so…

Turning on the engine, he was about to drive off when Rachel opened the door of the passenger seat. He furrowed his brows at her.

"Wait, Mr. Ren! Give me a few seconds. I'm sorry for what happened today. At least let me pay for the repair of your car for the trouble I caused you today,"

she explained quickly. Without waiting for a reply, she put her business card in his hand and continued,"When you have your car fixed, ask the auto mechanic to call me here. I'll pay for all the damages."

After that, Rachel got down and closed the door.

Marcus glanced at the card and drove away without a word.

When Marcus was gone, Rachel breathed out a sigh of relief. Then, she turned around and went to the bakery, thinking about the earlier scene. She didn't know much about Marcus. When she first met him, he seemed ge

"Do you know what you did wrong? It's alright if you just wanted to own me. But you should not have helped Molly leave me!"

When Brian learns the truth, there is no chance for Hannah to win his heart.

Molly, who wants to run away from Brian, seems to be the only one to blame for Hannah's misfortune...

n frustration. After a moment of thinking, he said,"Go and find Bonnie!"

Rachel, who listened to the entire conversation, was recognizing the uneasy feeling that was slowly gathering inside her. She put her plate down and walked towards the manager, asking politely,"Excuse me. Manager, may I know who was the Mr. Rong you were talking about just now?"

"Who else can it be? It's our boss." The manager snapped at Rachel. He thought of her as just some women who liked gossip. He had absolutely no idea that she was his boss' wife.

'Hiram is here too?

Well… that makes sense. He told me he had a meeting.'

Rachel tried to assure herself and push away unbecoming thoughts. 'It's just for business. Nothing to worry about.' she told herself.

Bonnie walked inside

the presidential suite. A man was sitting in the middle of the sofa.

He had the air of an emperor, with a proud brow and an undisturbed expression. Her eyes were naturally drawn to him even as others were present in the suite as well. She followed the strong line of his features, lingering for a moment on the slant of his jaw and the contours of his lips. She wore a bewitching smile as she slowly walked towards him, swaying her hips with practiced movements.

"Mr. Rong, I'm sorry. The manager asked me to come but I arrived late. Sorry about that. I'll take three shots, as my apology," she said, her smile never leaving her face. She took three glass, poured Chinese white liquor into them and emptied them one by one.

Then Bonnie gestured to the woman who was sitting next to Hiram to move away so that she could take her place. She sat down, purposefully brushing her leg with his and moving closer.

"It's really making fish of one and fleshing of another. I can't believe that the manager didn't tell me about that Bonnie was coming!" One middle-aged man said, clicking his tongue. His gaze was fixated on the woman, as if he was devouring her with his eyes.

Bonnie reached for Hiram's arms. He glanced down at her, his expression indifferent. He lit a cigar and said,"Go and sit next to Judd. I don't need you."
