Chapter 592 I’ve Gotten A Boyfriend

Name:Happy Together Author:Vegetable
"Jonny, please hurry up! What are you waiting for?" Rachel urged her firstborn son.

They were playing and chatting just a minute ago. She was wondering why it took all of them more time to play after she sat down.

"Mom, please give me one more minute..." said Jonny, frowning.

His eyes swept over the board trying to deduce which pieces would suit his mother best and which one he should go ahead with.

Deriving which one his mother needed was a crucial problem.

Unable to calculate in just a few seconds, Jonny had no choice but to discard the one he could have used for winning. Thankfully that move proved useful to her.

"Wow, I win! Thank you, my love!" Rachel exclaimed excitedly.

She was too excited to notice that all other people sitting at the table looked visibly relieved the moment she finished her turn.

It seemed as if they were happier than when they won themselves.

"Oh, Mom, I'm a little tired and I'd better go upstairs for some rest," said Jonny, punctuating himself with a fake yawn. He always got a headache when he was playing mahjong with his mother. He had to concentrate on allowing his mother to win without his intentions being discovered. It really was a distressing dilemma.

"What? I don't believe you! It's only been five minutes since I sat down!" Rachel complained, switching her eyes between Jonny and Joyce pleadingly.

Joyce also stood up and cracked a smile, "Mom, please excuse me too. I just got an idea about my paper and need to write it down as soon as possible. You know, my submission is killing me! Love you!"

Finally, Rachel fixed her eyes on Hiram hopefully.

He shrugged with a smile and replied, "Honey, it won't be fun if there are only the two of us. How about we go to bed?"

Rachel leaned against her chair and looked up at the ceiling wondering what was wrong with the kids. It was not easy for them to gather all five family members together and to squeeze some games in such a short span of time.

"Fine, forget about it!" she said in exasperation.

Hiram chortled under his breath and reached out for her, "Come on! Let me escort you upstairs, my lady!"

The summer vacation passed by quickly in the midst of an enormous gaggle of the kids.

All too soon the summer holidays came to an end. Jonny, Joyce and Chester were soon to return back to their lives and the house was empty again. Rachel suffered prolonged bouts of depression, even unable to battle it for several days after the kids had gone.

To lift her spirits, Hiram spared more time from his tight schedule to go shopping with her, have dinner with her at home, and watch movies with her. He also asked Jonny to visit home once every month.

Joyce was mandated to attend class alongside her thesis submission. Thus, she was unable to spare even a little time for her mother. Chester was away abroad. Jonny, the firstborn son, was the only viable candidate.

In the blink of an eye, three years had passed.

The twins had just celebrated their twenty-second birthday.

Hiram handed over the matters of the Company to Jonny, as planned, in order

"Do you know what you did wrong? It's alright if you just wanted to own me. But you should not have helped Molly leave me!"

When Brian learns the truth, there is no chance for Hannah to win his heart.

Molly, who wants to run away from Brian, seems to be the only one to blame for Hannah's misfortune...

en had said so. He had to see it with his own eyes.

The moment he entered the box, he saw Joyce leaning casually against the shoulders of a man he had never seen before. His eyes stung at the sight and he froze momentarily in his tracks.

"Simon, come on in! We were waiting for you!" Glen waved to him.

He was sitting at the front of the table and gestured for Simon to take the seat beside him.

Simon fixed his eyes on Joyce, whose shadow he had not seen in three years. She was prettier than her image in his memories. The passing years added a refined charm to her and he could hear his heart pounding wildly in his chest.

Cold tentacles curled around his heart when he caught sight of their arms linked together.

"Nice to meet you! I'm Simon Ji," he said with a weak smile on his face.

In spite of wanting to throw him across the room, Simon introduced himself to Gover gracefully after sitting down.

"I have heard of you before, Simon! You're the most promising young CEO of our generation. You've steered the nearly dead Ji Furniture Company back to life and led it to prosperity again. Don't you know that you're a legend in the eyes of our peers? So nice to meet in person, Simon!" Gover spoke admiringly.

He stood up from his chair and shook hands with Simon over the table.

However, Joyce tugged at his shirt under the table and grumbled in a low voice, "Please sit down! That's too much!"

"Simon, I want to formally introduce my boyfriend to you. This is Gover, and we've been together for over a year. We will get engaged soon and get married a year after that," Joyce said with a smile.

In reality, her heart had sunk the moment she had laid eyes on Simon. He looked more good looking than ever.

She took several deep breaths to compose herself and told herself to steel her mind. She would not allow them to see that she still had not moved on from him.

She still remembered how he had pushed her away when she offered her heart to him. He might be the most sought after bachelor in town but she would not forgive him.
