The bodyguards who followed Xi Ning didn’t dare to get too close, for fear of being discovered by Xi Ning. They only noticed that Xi Ning stood in front of the street lamp for a while.
Soon Xi Ning walked back to the Xu house along the way he came. After he entered the room, the car that followed him for most of the night drove into the garage quietly.
The next day, Xi Ning didn’t sleep well. When he woke up, he touched the phone beside him and picked it up. It was only 2 o’clock in the afternoon.
The phone number he made last night called him back in the morning. Xi Ning was asleep at that time and didn’t hear it. He rubbed his face and called the number again.
This time it was quickly answered, and Jian Yue’s voice sounded on the other end of the phone. “Hello?”
His voice sounded a bit tired, and it was different from his original voice over the phone, but Xi Ning recognized it right away. “Jian Yue?”
“You are……” Jian Yue was stunned. “Xiao Ning?”
Xi Ning let out a “hmm”, and his slightly chaotic brain recalled the source of the phone number,
“You…… pasted a missing person notice for me on the side of the road?”
Jian Yue heard that Xi Ning’s tone sounded flat and unconcerned about it, as if he was asking “have you eaten today?”
Jian Yue was instantly angered by his answer. “You still dare to ask? When you got into trouble in the shop, you only knew to run away from home and even went missing for so many days. Can’t you at least leave a note saying where you’ve been and that you are in a safe place. Do you think you are still a teenager?”
Xi Ning was a little dazed by his nagging and was stunned for a while. “Didn’t I already…… tell Xu Si to inform you?”
“Xu Si? Are you with Xu Si?”
“When did you go to find him?” Jian Yue said in an unpleasant tone. “Do you have self-awareness as a vampire? If he discovers your identity, how do you think he will treat you? Will he take in a vampire?”
Xi Ning frowned. He just woke up and had a morning temper. He hadn’t washed his face or brushed his teeth. He sat on the bed and was forced to listen to Jian Yue scolding. He got very irritable so he scolded back, “So what if he knows, mind your own business, I’m having a great time here!”
After speaking, he hung up the phone and threw the phone into the blanket.
After Xu Si left, Xi Ning began to lose control of his temper again. Jian Yue called him again, but Xi Ning hung up and shut off the phone. He then went to the bathroom to take a cold shower.
After he came out, he calmed down a lot. He turned the phone back on, and after a bit of hesitation he sent a text message to Jian Yue: “Don’t worry about me.”
Jian Yue didn’t answer him. Xi Ning put down the phone and felt something was wrong.
Didn’t he ask Xu Si to inform Jian Yue? Xu Si also agreed. Why was Jian Yue still looking for him?
Xi Ning lost his temper again. He searched Xu Si’s phone number which had been stored in his phone and called him angrily.
Xu Si was in a meeting at this time. After receiving his call, he stopped the meeting, turned around and picked it up. “Ning Ning?”
When Xi Ning heard his voice, his anger couldn’t help but disappear. “Are you…… Are you busy right now?”
Xu Si looked down at his watch and said gently, “No, what’s the matter?”
“Did you not tell Jian Yue that I was with you?” When Xi Ning talked about Jian Yue, he got angry again. “Why didn’t you tell him? Didn’t you promise me?”
Xu Si’s eyes narrowed. He had clearly instructed them to not allow Xi Ning to have contact with Jian Yue again. Just because he was not there, he still couldn’t prevent it.
He didn’t panic at all. His voice remained as usual. “Yes, it’s my fault. Don’t be angry.”
Xi Ning squeezed his phone tightly, and his irritability and unhappy emotions were strangely calmed again. He was silent and did not speak. Xu Si asked again, “Did you go to see him?”
“No.” Xi Ning pursed his lips. “I called him, and he scolded me.”
If he didn’t have mania, why did he need to sneak out? But he did cause trouble for Jian Yue, and worried him.
“What did he say about you? Scold that you shouldn’t run away?”
After hearing Xi Ning’s answer, Xu Si sighed lightly. “How about this, you give me Jian Yue’s phone number and I’ll explain it to him.”
Xi Ning didn’t react too angrily, nor did he express the idea of
going back to Jian Yue’s place. Xu Si was very satisfied, and his voice became more gentle. “This is something I did not do right. I will apologize to you after I come back, okay? You stay at home first. I’ll call Jian Yue.”
“Hmm……” Xi Ning obediently responded, holding the blanket. “You tell him that I didn’t mean it.”
“Okay.”
Both of them hung up. The system didn’t know what to say.
From its point of view, Xu Si obviously deliberately prevented Jian Yue from knowing that Xi Ning was here. Xi Ning should have asked him why he did that. If Xi Ning did not go out last night and did not see the missing person notice, Jian Yue would still be worried now.
Bu in a few short words, Xu Si actually managed to comfort Xi Ning.
It was still early. Xi Ning hung up and sent Jian Yue’s phone number to Xu Si, and wanted to go to sleep again.
Even though he was sleepy, he couldn’t fall asleep. He was lying on the bed and rolling over and over again, and he became moody again.
He turned over and sat up with a look of suspicion. “This is not right, why is Xu Si hiding the truth from Jian Yue? He must be planning something bad again.”
The system also thought so, but it didn’t say anything. It didn’t want to provoke Xi Ning’s emotions. Xi Ning thought for a while and couldn’t help taking out his phone and sending a text message to Xu Si: “If you dare not tell the truth in the future, I will kill you.”
The words sounded very cruel, but Xu Si quickly replied: “[Hug] Don’t be angry, when I come back and let you bite me.”
Xi Ning threw his phone angrily. “Is this person out of his mind?”
After Xu Si finished the meeting, he called Jian Yue.
When Jian Yue was hung up on by Xi Ning, he called Xi Ning again a few times in a row but Xi Ning’s phone was turned off.
He couldn’t do anything, but Xi Ning sent another text message asking him not to worry.
