“Ruffian, is the matter resolved? There wasn’t any loss of life, right?”
The moment the call connected, an anxious male voice came from the other end.
“Mr. Hua, I’m sorry, we screwed up,” the bald man hurriedly answered.
There was a pause on the other end of the phone before the voice continued, “Five of you couldn’t handle a mere kid? What the hell are you good for?”
“The kid…” The bald man began, then remembered Tang Feng was still beside him, and quickly changed his words, “He…he knows martial arts, we weren’t his match at all, and we all got hurt.”
“Is that kid still there?” Zhao Huaqiang asked after hearing him out.
“Still…still here, it was him who asked me to call you, he wants you to come see him personally,” the bald man replied softly.
“Hehe, the kid’s got guts. Let him take the phone,” Zhao Huaqiang sneered. He couldn’t remember the last time he saw a young man this arrogant.
The bald man had no choice but to hand the phone to Tang Feng, “Our boss wants to talk to you.”
Tang Feng casually took the phone, “Mr. Hua, right? What do you want to say?”
Then the ominous voice of Zhao Huaqiang came from the other side, “Kid, are you sure you want me to come see you personally?”
“Of course, since this all started because of you, it’s only right that you come and settle it,” Tang Feng, sensing the threat in his words, remained unphased.
“Alright, I’ll bring people over right away. You better hurry up and call for backup too, don’t die in an ugly way.”
“No need, to deal with you rabble, I alone am enough.”
“Haha, pretty cocky. Just hope you won’t end up begging at my feet,” Zhao Huaqiang mocked.
“Slap!”
The person on the other side finished speaking and hung up the phone.
Tang Feng was about to return the phone to the bald man when he noticed it was the latest model, the Fruit 13Pro, and he slipped it into his pocket.
One shouldn’t leave empty-handed after being attacked in the middle of the night, right?
“Eh…”
The bald man wanted to ask for it back, but facing Tang Feng’s stern gaze, he swallowed his words.
He was bleeding inside.
This was the Fruit phone he had spent almost eight or nine thousand yuan on, and he had only used it for two days.
Forget it, let this kid be smug for a moment.
When the boss arrives, I’ll make sure he coughs up everything, with interest.
“Tang Feng, let’s hurry and leave this place,” Jiang Zi clung to Tang Feng’s arm, still trembling.
Tang Feng helped her to sit on a bench by the roadside, “If you want to go back to your peaceful life, you have to resolve this completely today, or they will keep harassing you.”
Even though Jiang Zi knew what he said was true, she was still very worried.
“If you’re tired, take a nap. When you wake up, the problem will be solved,” Tang Feng reassured her with a smile after noticing her weariness.
Jiang Zi obediently nodded, placed her head on his shoulder, and soon fell into a deep sleep.
Under the street light in the dead of night, the two of them cuddled on the bench.
It was like a beautiful scene from a movie, with no hint of the looming battle.
About ten minutes later, the peace of the night was shattered by the screeching of two vans arriving.
“Screech…”
The two vans stopped about five meters away from Tang Feng, one after the other.
Doors were flung open and a swarm of men in black vests rushed out, each brandishing weapons like machetes and clubs, sending chills down one’s spine.
Tang Feng, as if oblivious to the men surrounding him, was playing Honor of Kings on the Fruit 13Pro he had taken from the bald man, just finished teaming up and waiting for the game to start.
The black-clothed men circled him, numbering at least twenty or thirty.
A thin man with triangular eyes stepped forward, first checking the injuries of the bald man’s group, his face becoming stern immediately.
His many years of brawling experience told him that the assailant was precise and skilled, clearly a tough contender.
This gave him a headache.
If it were just a blind kid, he could have easily handled it.
But now dealing with a tough nut like this, things became more complicated.
Yet, he was in too deep to back out now.
His men were seriously injured—if he didn’t regain face today, how would Zhao Huaqiang continue in the underworld?
He directed his men to help the injured rest, then turned to Tang Feng, “Not bad with your hands, to hurt five of my men alone?”
“Idiot, are you fucking blind? Deliberately feeding, you fucking moron…”
Tang Feng cursed at his phone, then glanced up, “What did you just say?”
Zhao Huaqiang nearly spat out a mouthful of blood, “Can you fucking stop playing for a moment? Let’s settle our issue first.”
Tang Feng shifted his gaze back to the phone, “This match has already started, and for professional reasons, I have to finish it. I hate quitters the most.”
Zhao Huaqiang felt insulted.
He had come looking for a show with dozens of people, and to be ignored like this?
“Kid, you can continue acting stupid, but you’ve hurt my brothers, and today you will have to explain yourself to me,” he said, barely containing his anger, staring at Tang Feng.
“Defend, defend, are you all fucking blind?” Tang Feng again cursed at his phone, then asked casually, “What explanation do you want?”
“Kneel and apologize to my brothers, pay a hundred thousand for medical expenses. And one more thing, you’re not allowed to harass Miss Jiang anymore,” Zhao Huaqiang growled, glancing at Jiang Zi sleeping on Tang Feng’s shoulder.
“Are you fucking stupid?” Tang Feng cursed, then explained with a smile to Zhao Huaqiang, “Sorry, I was cursing that Zhao Yun, not you. What did you just say?”
Zhao Huaqiang’s face darkened, and his patience was wearing thin.
He had talked so much out of apprehension for Tang Feng’s skills.
But being repeatedly ignored was infuriating, even a clay Buddha would get angry.
Before he could do anything, one of his underlings, unable to restrain himself, approached and attempted to slap Tang Feng’s phone away.
