“Oh Tang, you’re really something, just a phone call and you’ve saved your sister a bunch of money.”
Although it was only fifty bucks cheaper, it still delighted Li Tingting immensely, and she hugged his arm again.
Li Wenxuan couldn’t help but be sarcastic when he saw his sister acting like this, “It’s just fifty bucks cheaper, is it worth the fuss?”
Li Tingting’s face darkened, and she moved to grab his ear again.
Seeing this, Li Wenxuan hurriedly scrambled to distance himself.
Li Tingting glared at him, annoyed, “Fifty bucks isn’t money? That’s six hundred a year. Besides, is this about money? This is about Tang’s kindness towards you. Money has a price, kindness is priceless, understand?”
Li Wenxuan curled his lip, “What bull is this kindness? He just wants to see me make a fool of myself.”
When Li Tingting heard him still being defiant, she grabbed his ear again. “I think you need to be taught a lesson. Apologize to Tang right away.”
Li Wenxuan glared at his sister indignantly, “I didn’t say anything wrong, why should I apologize to him?”
“Still arguing? Tang is your classmate, yet he’s doing so well now. Shouldn’t you be a bit more humble and learn from him?”
Li Tingting was nearly driven mad by her brother; she went up and kicked him twice.
Li Wenxuan got worked up too, “Sis, you’ve been fooled. Do you really think he’s the landlord of this house? He’s just bluffing. In fact, he’s not even doing as well as me. Ask him if he can come up with a hundred thousand bucks right now?”
Having heard her brother say this, Li Tingting suddenly looked at Tang Feng with hesitation.
She had thought Tang Feng was doing well and might be able to help her brother out.
Could she have misunderstood?
Tang Feng didn’t bother to explain; he didn’t care about the Li siblings’ opinions of him.
But Li Wenxuan thought Tang Feng was in the wrong and had been rendered speechless by the question, immediately looking at his sister smugly.
Just then, a shout came from outside, “Whose car is this? Can you move it, please?”
Tang Feng looked out the window and saw an old man on an electric tricycle, pointing to his Ferrari and asking around.
Since the alley was narrow, his Ferrari and Qin Yanan’s Cayenne were parked side by side, blocking most of the road, preventing the tricycle from passing.
“It’s mine, just give me a moment, please.”
He hurriedly called out to the elder, then turned his head to the Li siblings, “Sorry, I need to go move my car, you go on and discuss things further.”
Having said that, he quickly went downstairs.
Li Tingting and Li Wenxuan both leaned out the window to look down.
They saw Tang Feng first apologize to the old man, then get into the Ferrari, move it aside, and let the elder pass.
When they arrived earlier, they had both noticed these two luxury cars and were amazed that such high-end vehicles could be seen in this urban village.
They had originally thought the cars belonged to the landlord.
They never imagined the car would actually belong to Tang Feng.
“Didn’t you say he was not doing as well as you? How do you explain this?” Li Tingting immediately turned her head to her brother.
“This… This can’t be, how could this guy possibly afford such an expensive car?” Li Wenxuan was already agape with surprise.
The rich woman who used to keep him also had a Ferrari F8 at home, which he heard was worth over four million.
And the configuration of Tang Feng’s car was clearly more luxurious than that one, so the price must be even higher.
Able to afford a luxury car worth four or five million, that’s not something just anybody can do.
It seemed he had underestimated his old classmate.
Tang Feng returned shortly after and smiled at the two, “So, have you thought things over?”
“Tang, that Ferrari outside, is it yours?” Li Tingting cautiously inquired.
“Yes.”
Although Tang Feng had no intention of showing off to anyone, he also had no need to pretend to be poor.
That car was his, neither stolen nor robbed, so there was no need for secrecy.
Li Tingting’s attitude changed once more.
If before it was admiration, now there was a hint of ingratiation.
“Oh Tang, I really didn’t see it coming. You’re so young and already can afford such a nice car. What’s even more rare is that you’re still so approachable, it’s really admirable.”
Li Tingting complimented him half earnestly, half mockingly, then turned to scold her brother, “From now on, you better learn from Tang, understand? Stop messing around with your worthless friends. If I find out again, I’ll break your legs.”
Li Wenxuan was now completely speechless and could only hum a begrudging “hmph.”
Looking at Tang Feng, his eyes were filled with curiosity.
He knew about Tang Feng’s family background: it was just an ordinary family, with no big officials or wealthy merchants as relatives.
Yet now, Tang Feng could afford a luxury car worth over five million. There had to be some unspeakable secret behind it.
Could it be that Tang had also hooked up with a wealthy patroness?
It seemed he’d have to find an opportunity to probe Tang for information, that was something he was good at.
After chatting for a bit more, they signed a rental contract.
Li Tingting symbolically paid a month’s rent and deposit and said she would come over tomorrow to buy some necessities for her brother, clean the place up, and then he could move in.
After sending the two away, Tang Feng returned to Qin Yanan’s room, intending to give her the contract and the deposit.
But when he entered the room, he found that she had fallen asleep on the sofa.
Looking at her haggard cheeks, Tang Feng felt a pang of heartache.
It was hard to imagine what kind of torment she went through when she was sick.
And what he could do now was to gather a billion as quickly as possible, upgrade his “Medical Skill” to LV2, and maybe then he could cure her illness.
He tiptoed to tuck a blanket around Qin Yanan, then went to the kitchen to make her a dinner.
His cooking skills weren’t great, but they were enough for basic homemade meals, at least a little better than what Qin Yanan could make.
After finishing the food and keeping it warm on the stove, he quietly left.
He felt like a modern-day “farmer,” a young, handsome, and considerate man, wealthy yet single man—why was that?
It was a question worth pondering.
