Chapter 95 - One Day (2)

"Let's try out that place," Sunye said. She was pointing at a small coffee shop across the street. They had been driving around the area for the past ten minutes, looking for a place to sit and have breakfast.

"Alright," SD shrugged and they headed for the cafe. It was a new cafe which had opened recently and was gaining popularity for its delicacies. The place was not so big but had a cozy atmosphere with a very interesting decor. Inside the cafe there were low tables and chairs while the walls were adorned with wallpaper made of recycled papers.

The counter stood at one corner but it was shaped as a mini van. The front window of the minivan was wide open for the cashier to take orders. A large menu was put up at the back for the customers while on one side of the counter was a large indoor bonsai plant which reached till the ceiling of the cafe. It had been trimmed so that the branches did not hang too low and also let the customers enjoy the view. Several lanterns hung from the ceiling to shed some warm light to the place and at another corner was a small area allotted to live music.

"Welcome," the cashier greeted them when they entered. "How may I assist you, sir and madame?"

"Two English Breakfast, please," SD ordered. "With an Americano and a Caramel Latte."

The cashier took their orders and requested them to be seated. Sunye chose a seat at the side, far away from the window. Even though there were no other guests in the cafe, she preferred a little more privacy for them.

SD sat opposite to her. "So, is this a date?" he asked shrewdly.

"It's just a request," Sunye claimed, her cheeks blushing. Was it a date?

Yes, she confessed to herself but there was no way she could admit it to him like that. Instead, she decided to change the topic.

"I've been wondering…" she began to ask about the medicines she found in his cabinet. SD straightened up and looked at her with his piercing blue eyes, waiting for her to continue. But the way he was flashing a small smile at her, Sunye had to backtrack.

"I've been wondering about your reading list," she said. "When I visited your house the first time, I saw your books. I didn't think you would be an avid reader."

"There are many things you don't know about me, love," he winked. Sunye rolled her eyes. EVen asking the simplest question was pointless.

"I read to keep my mind sharp," he said casually. "Also, books are a portal to infinite knowledge. Once you absorb them, you have the information to deal with people in different situations. How you implement that knowledge is up to you."

Just then, a server brought their meals to their table. SD motioned her to start eating. Sunye picked up her toast and took a small bite. She kept on glancing at him every now and then, unintentionally observing him.

He was cutting the egg on his delicate precision. His posture was straight and his elbows were on even distance as he used his cutlery and his focus was completely on the meal. These might seem like small things but Sunye had met people from all spheres of the society. She knew how people from each class reacted and was aware of many common habits.

While SD's background was dubious, there was no doubt in her mind that he was raised in a very controlled and elite household. He adopted different habits for his missions as she had noted during their time at the strip club but whenever he was his normal self, he maintained an elegance and dignity. She watched him eat without spilling a single crumb of food as if he was treating his meal with respect. He reminded her of...

"I know I'm good looking but if you keep on gazing at me with so much love, I might melt," SD remarked, not looking up from his food.

Uncouth bastard! She cursed.

She grabbed her cutlery and gobbled down her breakfast without looking at him. SD smirked at her reaction, enjoying every bit of it. Teasing her became second nature to him and he could not help but extract these reactions from her considering that he was the only one who could do that.

"So what's your plan for the day?" he asked. "How are you going to amuse me? And I hope you have my payment ready.I'm giving up an entire day for you so the payment better be worth it."

"You'll be paid," she sighed. "And as for the day…"

SD waited for her to speak. He was done eating and was now casually sipping his latte.

"I haven't planned anything extraordinary," she began. "After breakfast, we can visit the park. They're having a spring festival there in the afternoon so we can walk around until the festival starts. Then, in the evening, we can do something that you want-"

Upon seeing his face light up in a perverted way, Sunye added, "As long as your wishes don't include whips and any other perverted stuff, I'll be okay with it."

SD's ears fell in disappointment. "Fine," he agreed. "I'll be the perfect gentleman."

"And then, I'll pay you and we can go to our respective homes," she stated.

"The festival will start in the afternoon though," he pointed out. "What will we do till then?"

"I was hoping we could walk around the streets," Sunye mumbled. She was not very good at planning dates. The few casual dates she went on in the past were not much fun because she was always busy or simply not interested in the men. Which is why she planned a simple outing. After all, she had so many crazy adventures with SD, that it felt much more comfortable to have a subdued date.

"How about we go to the Imperial Palace?" he asked. Sunye blinked in surprise. The Palace?

"You want to go to the Palace?" she queried. "But why? I thought you didn't like boring places."

The Palace had been turned into a museum after the war. The Throne was vacant since the Crown Prince had not been officially declared dead and also, the search for the heir was still ongoing. But the Palace was the government's property and open for tourists to visit so that they could learn about the country' culture and history.

"I heard a lot of things about the Palace," he simply said. "I haven't been there myself so I thought I'd check it out."

Sunye bit her lip. She had not visited the Palace after the coup and going back there was going to bring back many memories.

"Don't worry," SD said, reading her mind. "As long as you're with me today, I can assure you that you won't be remembering any bad memories."

"Why is that?" Sunye frowned.

"Because Ms. Han," he said, leaning forward. "Today, I will be the one to occupy your whole mind and you can't escape from the thought of me, naked and writhing on top of you-"

She threw a tissue at him, this time hitting his nose.
