Chapter 75 - You confessed to me at the wrong time

"Umezaki San." Yuhara Kozue stares at me. "Have you gone crazy?"

I raise my brow. "Why do you say so?"

"Agreeing to marry him right after you got your memories..." He shakes his head. "I get it that your emotions are out of control. But, you shouldn't make decisions at this state."

"Do you think that I am mentally unfit after getting my memories?" I smirk at him. "I might be crazy. But, he's the one who wants to marry a crazy woman who belongs to a mental asylum."

"You aren't crazy. You are not emotionally stable." Yuhara Kozue grabs his hair in frustration. His reactions are always like this. "You might regret making this decision later. You don't love him."

I nod. "You are right. I plan to get a divorce later."

Yuhara Kozue looks at me like I have gone crazy. "Then, why are you marrying him?"

"Because he wants to marry me." I shrug my shoulders casually. "Isn't he in love with me? That's a good reason to marry someone."

"Marry me then," Yuhara Kozue blurts out. "By that logic of yours, you should marry me. I have spent more time with you than he did."

I let out a tired sigh. "You aren't rich."

You aren't wanted by Chisa. Why would I marry you?

Marrying you won't become the first slap to her face.

"Heartless!" He clutches his c.h.e.s.t. "I didn't know that you were after money."

"His looks are also better than yours. He is the CEO of the Kamiyama Groups. After the divorce, I will get big alimony. I don't need to go to college at this age to secure a job later. My life will be easy." I point out. "You haven't graduated yet."

Yuhara Kozue's eyes are full of tears. He stands up and says loudly, "Umezaki San, you are my first love. How could you be so cruel to me?"

I smile at him. "You confessed to me at the wrong time."

He runs out of the room, crying.

I feel like hurting everyone who comes close to at this moment. My words didn't have the d.e.s.i.r.ed effect on Kamiyama though.

"Don't marry her," Umezaki Yushiro says to Kiyohira with a heavy tone. "Though she remembers everything, she is not marrying you for love. I want her to take her from here."

Kiyohira smiles at him quietly.

Umezaki Yushiro didn't want her to remember. It happened so fast. He did tell her everything, but he thought that it would take some time. Was it because he already told her? The carefree smile from his daughter's face is gone. She's not the person who would hide inside the house. She isn't the person who would carefreely live her life. He's afraid of what she is now.

"I will protect her from her enemy," Kiyohira tells him with a determined voice. "It's natural that she would want revenge on that person. You and I feel so angry when we found out what she went through. You and I can't imagine what she is feeling. I will protect her from herself."

Umezaki Yushiro sighs. He doesn't like the idea. But, he has a feeling that his daughter won't accept his help. Still, he will try.

Kiyohira continues, "I was the one who indirectly suggested it to her. I am glad that she took that suggestion. She doesn't love me, but she doesn't hate me either."

"She will hurt you a lot."

"Watching her hurting herself is more painful."

"Are you sure that you can love her that much?" Umezaki Yushiro looks at the man.

Her broken shards will try to hurt anyone who will come close to her. She's bitter. She's sad. She's also angry beyond words. She hasn't started grieving. Before he told her the truth, she thought that the scars on her body were the results of an accident. After remembering everything, her scars would remind her of that night every day.

Kiyohira looks at the door of the room. "I will give her that much love."

Umezaki Yushiro knows that this man loves his daughter. But, he also thinks that she should not stay here. Whether it's about revenge or career, nothing is more important than his daughter's life. He will try to convince her. He walks into the room and finds her gazing out of the window.

"Rie."

She turns her head and looks at him. There is a slight smile. "Father."

He's relieved that she called him that after remembering. "How do you feel now?"

"I have been better." She pats her stomach. "I am hungry."

"What do you want to eat?"

"Fish sticks."

He laughs lowly. "Let's go back home."

She stares at him for a long time. "I can't come home with you."

He narrows his eyes. "Why? You can't be serious about marrying him."

"I have never been this serious." Her eyes twinkle in amus.e.m.e.nt. "Father, I will stay here. Don't ask me for the reason. No matter what you say or how you promise to help me with my emotions, I can't leave. I want you to leave. You should go to E country and take that job. I will come to see you after some time."

"I won't leave." He didn't think that she would say things like this. "How could I leave my only daughter here despite knowing how dangerous it is?"

"It's not dangerous because I remember now." She exhales loudly and gazes out of the window with sadness. "I can't run away and hide anymore. It's better if you leave. If you stay here, you will distract me."

Prickly words! If one looks carefully, the underlying meanings can't be hidden. His father isn't fooled like Yuhara was.

"I won't leave the country." Umezaki Yushiro won't be swayed. "I will stay here."

Rie sighs and says nothing.
