Chapter 166 - Can't guarantee how long you will live

Wearing a baseball hat and a mouth mask, Nina's sharp eyes scrutinize the road ahead of her. It's been three hours since she left the apartment. They must have reached her place by now. Is it safe to take the train? What else that hacker has done? She can't figure out who would do this to her. The hacker left a message for her. The hacker knew the inner working of DH. Then, it can't be an outsider. It must be someone from DH.

Who could it be? Bo, Mad, Law or Rie? Whom did she offend?

She looks at the man sitting beside her in the car that she stole earlier. Earlier, he fainted when she pulled the trigger. What a scaredy cat! She didn't take off the safety of the gun. She should just kill this guy. He's frustrating her.

Is it Rie who did this to her?

Nina leans back in her seat. She grips the steering wheel hard. Rie could have done this to her. Ren is important to that woman. Rie must have found out that she kidnapped Ren.

Rie warned her that day. That woman will go this far.

She clenches her teeth. "B!tch!!!"

Ren wakes up with a dull headache. Sluggish, he looks to the right. The woman's face appears before him. "You! You shot me."

She scowls at him. "If I shot you, would you be here and accusing me of shooting you?"

True! He's breathing right now. So, he's not dead yet. His hands and feet are still tied. "How do you know Rie?"

"You are such an idiot." She slaps his hand off her. "Can't you use your brain for once?"

Ren stares at her. The woman seems irritated for some reason. "Are you from DH?"

"Bingo." She turns the car around and drives away. If it's Rie who did this to her, she will make her pay. The man next to her will be the first one to go. "You love talking about me on your blogs."

Ren pales. This woman is Nano.

"You have some courage. I was going to have fun with you before letting you go, but you kept rejecting me." Nina smirks at him. "You are still alive because of Rie. However, I can't guarantee how long you will live."

Rie has been protecting him. Ren sighs. Rie won't talk to him, but she will do this for him. "Where is she?"

"I don't know." The more she thinks, the more it seems like it was Rie who did this to her. Rie is already her enemy since she kidnapped Ren. Is she scared? She has nothing to lose. "I will find out soon."

***

"No." Rie folds her arms. "I am not getting on that."

In front of her, there's a large private plane. She knows how crazy Kiyohira is.

"I thought you trust me." Kiyohira narrows his eyes on her. "Where's your trust then? Did you leave it in your house?"

There, they go again! Yuta massages the space between his small brows. Why can't they just act lovingly? They already act like old grumpy couples.

"I trust you, of course." Rie gives him a dazzling smile. "But the thing is... erhm... "

"What is it?" Kiyohira is aware that she doesn't trust his flying skills. "You don't have an ounce of trust in me. Board the plane. I have arranged a pilot."

He storms into the plane, grumbling to himself. Yuta shakes his head at his mother. It would be a miracle if they don't divorce each other by the end of the month. He has to work so hard in the future.

Rie holds Yuta's hand as she walks toward the plane. "Did your father bring you here in that?"

"He's not bad at it." Yuta waddles along with his mother. His father is good at it. On his way here, his father told him that he will teach him when he grows up a bit. Yuta already knows how to fly planes, but he will pretend that he has no idea. "He's cool."

"Cool?" Rie snorts. "Yes, he's cool. But what about me? I found you a cool father. You shouldn't forget about me."

Yuta rolls his eyes. Taking credit for his work? If it wasn't for him, his cool father would have been suffering alone in T city. "Yes, Mother, thank you for marrying a cool man."

Rie chuckles. She regretted meeting Kiyohira once, but it's working out somehow. It's a mystery how they are fitting together like puzzle pieces after so many things that have happened in their lives. She knows one thing though. Her crab loves her and her son. That's enough for now.

Inside the plane, Yuta closes his eyes. His mother has her arm around him. Still, that woman would sneak in his thoughts like an earthworm wiggling inside the wet soil. Annoying! He can't help it. His body is only four with the mind of a grown man. She must be around ten. Will they meet again?

Even if they meet again, what's the point? She won't be able to answer him why she did it. It's better if they don't meet. He might end up doing the same thing to her that she did to him. The world around him will change after his rebirth, but he's not changing. He's still the same.

Rie gazes at her son solemnly. His breathing is even now. She fixes the blanket on him and turns her head towards the sulking man who is sitting a few seats ahead of them. Does she have two boys now? She walks to her sullen crab. "Stop acting like a kid in front of our kid."

He turns his head to the right, not meeting her eyes. "You still don't trust my flying skills."

Rie peeks toward Yuta. Her son is sleeping deeply. She sits on Kiyohira's l.a.p, lightly laughing.

"We can't do this if you are flying this plane."
