"Ahh, I understand a bit now..." Alex said as he once again looked outside the window. He was surprised to see that they were crossing the huge water body on one of the biggest bridge Alex had ever soon.
"This city… Is it special?" He said as he looked towards Hana.
Hana nodded, "Yes, It is the capital. Set on an island between an entire sea. It the main hub for everything; trade, education, health, jobs, hunting, if you need something, the capital of Uto will have it."
Alex nodded, "Capital of Uto? That's a good name. I'd love to explore this place sometime. It sounds fun." Alex was excited to enter the city. "Living in slums because of my lack of power had prevented me from ever seeing such places with my very own eyes. I only saw them on television. The more we cross the bridge, the larger the skyscrapers become. I love this!" He was pretty excited when he thought of entering a city as high tech and developed like Uto.
Hana chuckled when she saw Alex's enthusiasm. "You know, I've never seen anymore be this excited to see a city. But if you're this into it, I can show you around… BUT, only after the questioning."
Alex looked excited after hearing Hana's words. He always wanted to walk around the cities filled with people and technology. 'They're so discriminating against us ... If an F-Rank hero wasn't even able to see cities properly until they got kicked out for upsetting the city, is that really treating us like humans? Now, I've only got one target, get stronger! I don't know if I will go back to the city. I've never had any loved ones or anyone waiting for me, but if I can go back, I'll do it after I get strong. After I have gained more power, I'm going to change the system there, but before I do that in that world. I'm going to have to change the structure in this one. I'll have to make it so that people with powers will save others not for the sake of monetary benefit, but simply for the sake of saving them…'
Alex took a deep breath, 'Power, It is the answer to everything. All I need at this moment is power.' He had a determined look in his eyes and was filled with motivation.
"I have another question on the gates… Can someone return to where they came from?" Alex curiously asked.
Hana shook her head, "It might be possible but improbably. Entering the gate is a very dangerous thing but on top of that, trying to find the specific gate that will lead you back to your world. It's just very unlikely."
Alex nodded, he wasn't particularly sad about it, but that was the place where we lived for 20 years of his life. It did feel a bit disappointing to him.
"We're nearly there..." Hana said as she looked towards Alex.
Without even realizing it, they had already crossed the bridge and had entered the City. Alex looked outside the window and was just surprised to see all the huge buildings towering above. The streets were completely clean, and the roads were smooth.
"As this is the capital of the country, they do invest a lot into it. Everything is kept as advance as possible. But you can see it more up close later on. For now, we've arrived at the agency. Alex, just answers with truth, everything that we ask. The situation is serious as a reaper has breached our world so your answer would be very helpful." Hana looked towards Alex with a serious expression. He exited the car, Alex followed close behind.
Alex looked towards the card he got from the facility and asked, "What about this card? Do I have to wear it or can I take it off?"
Hana shook her head, "No, The card is important. I also have mine in my pocket but its better for someone new to have it on. Once you get more used to this world, you can take it off. But even after you take it off, you will need to keep it on your self." Hana took out her card from her pockets and pointed it towards a screen next to the huge glass door.
"Welcome, Hana_01"
The glass doors opened.
Hana looked back at Alex and pointed towards the door, "For reasons like this. You can't do anything without a card. Your card is needed for everything, from entering stores to even doing something as simple as getting a taxi." Hana explained.
Alex nodded and followed Hana inside the agency.
The interior of the building looked great, it was clean and had a high tech feel to it. There were guards all over the place, a pistol on their hip. Alex went to what looked like the reception with Hana. As they did, Alex found that a lot of people in the building were looking towards Hana. Some looked at her with reverence, while others looked at her with the eyes of lust. As Alex looked around, he also found that some of them stared at him with rage and envy.
"You're a popular figure." Alex laughed as he looked at Hana.
Hana shook her head, "I'm just the head of the agency, this is normal."
Hana then looked towards the woman standing behind the table. "Investigation Room - 7. We have a witness on a class-1 invasion. Tell John to come as well."
The woman nodded and replied, "Yes ma'am."
Hana nodded back and walked towards a nearby door. Alex just followed behind her.
"Alex, You might need to wait for a while. This is an investigation so there is some formal work to do. But don't worry. Once we begin the investigation, it will finish pretty quickly. You're only a witness. I'm preparing the room for not only you but Rhino as well. After questioning you, We will do the same with rhino." Hana pointed towards a chair.
"You can rest here and wait a few minutes. I will be back, I have some things to do." She said as she walked out of the door, back to the reception.
Alex looked up, "She has a scary face when she gets really serious but a very pretty one when she is acting normal." Alex laughed to himself.
'Well, for now, I can look into the system.' Alex thought as he looked towards the prompt.
[Alex- Human]
[Level- 7]
[Skill points - 7]
[The system recommends Player to spend their skill points.]
'Hmm, skill points. If I remember correctly, they just increase attributes, like when I used the might skill… It said that my strength and speed would be increased. So even if Rhino was at a higher level, I was able to defeat him. I need to increase them so I can be more powerful!' Alex was excited, he knew that he would be even more powerful when his skill would be increased.
He pressed the prompt to open the skills.
[Player Skills:]
[Strength : 1]
[Agility: 1]
[Intelligence: 2]
[Dexterity: 2]
[Courage: 3]
[Skill points remaining : 7]
Alex thought a bit when he saw his skills. He tried to remember the games he used to play and relate these skills to the system.
'Strength… It just increases my strength and health points. Agility, it increased my physical speed. Intelligence, I really don't know what it properly does. In games, it increased the mana that a player could use but also their thinking power… Does that mean that If I increase intelligence to a very high number, I would have genius-level smartness? I don't know but I guess I'll have to figure it out my experiment. Dexterity is also another weird one. I haven't seen it much in games. It was most useful for the thief classes so they could open locks quicker or disable traps… and the final one is the most confusing one. Courage… I have the most amount of courage comparing to the other skills but I genuinely don't know what it does. I would never call myself a man who had courage but this shows otherwise… Well whatever, I'll need to allocate them according to what I think will be the most helpful.'
Alex looked towards the skills and quickly used his points.
[Player Skills:]
[Strength : 4]
[Agility: 4]
[Intelligence: 3]
[Dexterity: 2]
[Courage: 3]
[Skill points remaining : 0]
