Hana's face darkened when the announcement came through the speakers. Alex looked towards Hana and asked, "Now what do we do?"
Hana shook her head, "I was scared that it would be a higher rank gate. It's only a C-Class gate. It's not my problem to deal with. We already have other awakened to deal with the lower class gates. What we can do is watch. I know that you must be curious about how we deal with the gates. It could be a good experience for you." Hana smiled.
Alex agreed, and he also wanted to know how to deal with the gates. He also wanted to see people with powers battling in person. He's always loved watching his favorite heroes fight live with the villains on TV, but he's never seen any hero use the super powers in battle. The awakened were technically like superheroes, so Alex seemed to be excited to see them in battle.
The two exited the elevator on the ground floor. Hana quickly went to the reception and said, "Region."
The assistant looked surprised by Hana's actions but then she looked at Alex and seemed to understand a bit. "Ma'am, The gate appeared in the Business District. But you might be late by the time you reach there. Sir Fire has been sent along with some other C-Rank Awakeneds so they will deal with it very quickly."
Hana took a deep breath when she heard the name, "The silver fox? Why did he get so active now a day? Not enough women for him to enjoy?"
The assistant was speechless when she heard Hana's words. Hana looked towards Alex.
"Come, we'll use my own car. It'll be faster." She pulled Alex outside of the building. A small sparkle in her eyes.
Alex obliged and followed Hana. After reaching the garage, Alex felt even more astonished by Hana. Her own personal car looked amazing. It was short but had a very aerodynamic design to it. The wheels were thick and looked like it could go on anything.
"Come on!" Hana said as she watched Alex stand outside, just admiring her card. After hearing Hana, Alex quickly ran inside and was even more stunned. "The interiors are just as good" He blurted out as he slowly touched the dashboard.
"Hey hey! This isn't a car show where you drool all over the car. This is my personal car, I better not see any drools in this car or I will kick you out!" Hana yelled.
Alex backed away and quickly crossed his arms, worrying that Hana would hit him if he continued. 'I didn't know that she was so overprotective… She must really love this car.'
"Okay, just sit tight. We'll be seeing some good action today. If Sir Fire is out there to clear a weak gate, he can do it on his own." Hana said as she quickly drove out of the parking lot.
Alex nodded, he didn't know the dynamics of the place so he had no idea who Hana was talking about but he did feel a bit excited when he thought of seeing people with powers use them in battle.
As the two sped, Alex looked towards Hana with a curiosity, " What type of power does Sir Fire have?" He was really curious.
Hana smiled, "It's in his name."
Alex smiled wider, excited to see the powers of Sir Fire, "An elemental controller, those are amazing." Alex then looked outside the car windows and realized something. He quickly turned towards the speedometer and exclaimed, "150?!" He looked towards Hana like she was crazy, "You're going 150 kilometers an hour!"
Hana shook her head, "It'll be all right, I've done this before. You don't need to be scared."
Alex wanted to say something in reply but his words were quickly cut off by the car's sudden turn. After the turn, Alex just shut his mouth and watched in horror as Hana drove her car to the gate's location.
—Location of New Gate, Business District—
A tall man in a suit looked towards a gate that was slightly larger than him. Behind him were 3 others, one holding a long staff and the other two holding swords.
The man holding the staff looked anxious. He was short and thin and was the one who stood furthest from the Gate. He looked towards the Tall man in a suit and exclaimed, "Sir Fire! Are you sure about us being here? We are just beginners in this. Won't a C-Class gate be too much?"
The two standing behind Sir Fire, one woman and one man nodded in agreement ot the guy's words.
"Shin, You are correct… This will be a big battle for you and your friend, Han, and Jen. But don't forget that I am here. Do you really have to fear for your life against the monsters from a mere C-Rank gate when this man is here?!" Sir Fire said as a fire started to cover his body.
"No.. No sir Fire!" The three replied unison.
Sir fire smiled wide and jumped far away, watching the 3 from the top of a nearby building. "It will begin soon." He said in a loud voice.
The three nodded and readied themselves. It was their first time in battle.
The girl looked towards the man standing next to her, "You're on defense first. I'll take down as many as I can and we swap." She then looked towards Shin, the caster, and said, "You try to buff us as much as you can. We'll have to finish this gate without Sir Fire's help!"
The two nodded when they heard the girl's words. They took deep breaths.
The voids of the gate started to rumble and slowly, a long hand popped out… Followed by a long leg and finally ahead. "Kekekeke"
It was a reaper!
Sir Fire smiled when he saw the creature, "I was afraid that It would be another species. Reapers are the easiest to deal with at low levels. I know that you can do it!" He looked at the three, observing their every movement.
"Let's just hope this will be a small wave. That reaper is only 4 feet tall so it will be easy to deal with but they still need to be careful. These gates have started to get a lot crazier from what I heard in the other nations. More and more gates have appeared so I need to train even more awakened. Us higher ranks can't get distracted by low-level gates just because of a lack of awakening." Sir Fire said to himself.
*Boom!*
"KEKEKEEK" The reaper was blown back to a wall, blood dripping from its mouth.
"See, It's easy to deal with! We can do it!" The woman said once again. She was completely confident in her abilities.
She rushed towards the reaper and thrusted her sword to its chest.
*Kuek!*
The Reaper fell limp. "It's dead!" The girl exclaimed in victory, not noticing that the Reaper was still twitching.
Sir Fire quickly jumped towards the girl, "It's only acting dead! Don't put your guard down now!" He tried to rush as quickly as he could towards the reaper.
However, just before He could reach the reaper, it had already made its move. The reaper quickly struck the girl's eyes.
"AHHHH!" She cried in pain, one of her eyes was cut. She could no longer see from that eye.
The girl covered her eye and fell to the ground, she was in severe pain.
Sir Fire reached the reaper before it could attack again and burnt it to crisps.
He looked towards the gate, "It's still open… C-Class has around 5-10 small reapers but only one came out. Even if the rest didn't come out, the gate would have just closed by now but it's open… Why is it still open?!" Sir Fire tried to put things together.
Then a sudden thought came in his mind, Sir Fire could feel the presence of another reaper close by.
He looked quickly at Shin, the caster of the small party. He was rushing to the girl to help her out. Sir fire could see the light bending behind the shine, 'An invisible reaper?! 'The eyes of Sir Fire opened wide.
But just before he could run and save Shin 's life, he heard another voice coming from not too far away.
"MIGHT!" He saw a figure fly past his chosen view, straight to the invisible reaper.
*Bang!*
The reaper flew into the wall, this chest had a small dent in it from the punch. The man looked towards Shin and then once again towards The reaper.
"I was just in time!" He exclaimed in a proud tone.
A woman's voice came from the background, "You have to thank me and my car for that. If I hadn't driven like that, god knows what could have happened."
