Chapter 149: Let me look

Alex shook his head and smiled, "I really think you've changed a lot than before… So I wouldn't go so far to say that…" He turned towards the reception, which was empty.

Rachel smiled and spoke, "Thank you Alex… If you're searching for the people at the reception, they'll be back in a few minutes… It's the Gate safety protocol. So they went into the bunker to hide just in case. If you're here to meet Ryan or Master Zhun, Just go up stairs. They're probably waiting for you to come so just go." She explained.

Alex nodded and walked to the stairs. Looking back At Rachel who waved him goodbye. Alex waved Rachel goodbye as well and walked towards Ryan's office. He slowly opened the doors and looked inside to see Ryan and Master Zhun, each with a coffee cup in their hands.

Alex smiled and entered the room. Ryan looked at Alex with furrowed eyebrows and sighed. Master Zhun laughed at the quiet atmosphere and spoke, "Alex, where have you been? We just assumed you died after over six months of disappearing into thin air… Well, We had other assumptions for the first two weeks but that was when I could still feel your energy… But after that, It was gone. Your entire existence just disappeared so we assumed that you passed. Until then, we had an entire team that searched around for you… One of them is here and coming actually…" Master Zhun spoke as he looked at the door.

Alex turned to the door and after a pause of a few seconds, a cute girl walked into the room. She had on blue glasses and her hair was a blue tint. Master Zhun looked at the girl and sighed, "Nana, I understand that you want to change your looks and try new things every now and then but You've gone from brown hair to a neon blue…" He seemed to be slightly annoyed.

Nana looked at Master Zhun and awkwardly looked at the floor. She seemed to be very shy when looking at the room. "I… I'm sorry. I just wanted to see how it would be… But I do agree, the blue is too eye catching… I'll have to change it back." Her eyes were slightly teary.

Master Zhun sighed and looked at Ryan. Seeing Master Zhun's gaze, Ryan laughed and spoke, "You need not change it. You've changed it because you wanted it to. Just don't go off into changing things on impulse anymore though… I couldn't recognize you. However, we're getting away from the topic. You probably could guess who this is in the room, standing beside the door?" He spoke as his gaze turned to Alex.

Nana turned to Alex and squinted his eyes, "is he the one who was supposed to be dead?" She was extremely confused. She slowly walked to Alex and took a closer look. Her initial shyness seemed to go away as soon as Alex struck her curiosity.

After a few seconds, Alex scratched his head awkwardly when Nana's face uncomfortably got close to his own. "Umm…" Alex looked at Ryan and Master Zhun who both had their palms on their foreheads.

Nana jumped back and looked at the floor, her face very red. She turned to Master Zhun and nodded, "His structure is very close to Alex… So it means that he never died but was hidden somewhere…" She said while fiddling with her fingers.

Master Zhun nodded and spoke, "Your deductions were incorrect… We've confirmed in our own way that he wasn't taken but had training on his own. Where is the question that we probably won't get… How is also another question we won't get but I guess some questions will always stay unanswered."

Ryan looked at Master Zhun and nodded, "the reason we called you was so that you could take Alex to the facility. We'll have to get him checked for anything foreign in his body. Just in case he isn't infected by the mind controlling virus. It seems to be evolving a lot these days and we might now know."

Ryan then turned to Alex and sternly spoke, "Alex, I hope you don't mind but this isn't a request… It's an order from Me for you to get checked just in case… We'll also have to observe your body and powers that way. Nothing shady ut I'm sure I don't need to say that. I do hope you have that much trust in us." He smiled after explaining.

Alex took a deep breath and nodded, he couldn't really refute it. He had to live within the rules and laws of this world so he couldn't refuse what Ryan had ordered. It was their job to be sure as well so it was for the good.

'Kid… I don't know how advanced technologies here are but I'd say that They will see something weird in your body so I'd say be prepared for that. If I were you, I would just say no and fight them but that's not a choice and you don't have the powers for it.' Hades explained.

Alex nodded as he turned to the Shy Nana. Before he followed her outside, Master Zhun stopped Alex and called him back. "Alex, can you let me see that gun you have? I just need to look at one or if you let me, both would be better…" He seemed to be very curious.

'Hmm, What a difficult predicament we have here… Alex, Just give one pistol… I'll handle this one.' Hades seemed to be slightly unsure at this moment.

Alex nodded and walked to Master Zhun and handed him one of the guns. Master Zhun grasped the pistol and looked through it very carefully. His eyebrows furrowed when he touched the button at the side and smiled. He turned to Alex and gave him back the gun, "Kid, This is a really good weapon. Just don't lose it. Looking at how you took it out, It's not an ability weapon so you can't cast it so losing is a huge possibility."
