Name:Hero's Return Author:Artpyro
Her aura was huge but the area supressed anything from getting out, so no one from the StarSeeker School could sense anything. The Celestial King slowly descended until she was level with the others. Iona immediately flew into her giving her a hug.

I: "Hi!"

The Celestial King looked down with a smile and hugged her back.

CK: "My it really has been a while hasn't it"

She looked back up towards the Legends.

S: "You said it... how long has it been again? 350 years?"

X: "Yeah, but I feel like this is a little early for us to be meeting"

CK: "Of course, you're probably all thinking I should be on the front lines leading the celestials"

N: "If your not there then who's leading them?"

CK: "No one, the Demonic King has already revived"

X: "What?!"

All of the Legends except Asurea revealed looks of shock as he was told beforehand. Iona looked up at her with the same shock.

X: "No that's impossible we should have at minimum 400 years until he's fully revived!!!"

S: "The breaking of his horn should have limited his magic power! How has he already regrown it?!"

CK: "He essentially halved his army, through direct consumption of their magic power he managed to grow his horn back in a mere month, all that effort Azu put in is essentially null now. But with his army halved I can spare time to go around the continent, you should already know why I'm here now. Dezrin? You seem like you've guessed"

Iona let go and floated slowly back towards her brother. Dezrin looked up.

D: "Well. The Demonic King has awakened, you're not leading your army and even with the demons army halved the opposition now has the power of their leader in the ranks, which is much more valuable than a large amount of foot soldiers. Im guessing the reason your going around, specifically here is for 2 reasons"

The Celestial King nodded.

CK: "Carry on"

D: "The first reason would be to recruit Legends that you have connections with in order to help, and the other..."

S: "The leader"

D: "Precisely"

Dezrin looked towards The Celestial King.

D: "Are we correct?"

The Celestial King smiled then nodded.

CK: "As perceptive as ever I see. You're exactly right. I need your help, five of the most powerful legends on my side, it's better to try and ask than to try my chances. That demon is much more powerful than before and I'll need all the help I can get"

Asurea knew about the battle between the celestials and the demons but never actually fought on the battlefield personally, he was only told what Azu sent him. So he didn't know the specifics.

A: "Aren't you and the Demonic King equal in strength?"

The Celestial King looked at Asurea.

CK: "We used to be... but I have expended time and strength protecting the kingdom from his army for decades, whilst he's been resting and is now most likely twice as powerful as before. To think that my greatest enemy would be humiliated so terribly by one who seemingly had no place in the war to begin with"

The Celestial King looked towards the Legends

CK: "I owe a great deal to Azu, and in the short time I knew him I could immediately tell he was different, someone so powerful with such a caring heart, his kindess truly did know no bounds - I will never forget it"

She paused for a short while.

CK: "But that is why I am here. To request help from the teammates of him. I want to request of you not the notion of battling under me, but battling with me side by side against that demon as friends. I am much weaker in power than before, and I'll need all the help I can get"

There was a short silence.

X: "What happens to our leader then?"

CK: "The reincarnation... that power that only so few can hold. He is nowhere near ready to join the battle. But I came here without a choice, I won't hold it against you if you decline, but I request this not as the king, but as your old friend"

The Celestial King was someone who usually kept aloof and distant from her subordinates, but as soon as Azu's team accidentally stumbled upon the war and helped the celestials out of Azu's pure instinct. They were taken by the soldiers to the kingdom to be seen by the king. Only a single glance was needed for the Celestial King to label Azu as an ally, the general aura he gave off had no malice in it, only an unwavering desire to do good. This relationship would soon extend to one of friendship after a single experience.

Whilst fighting on the front lines the Celestial King had been backed into a corner, her sword was driven far into the depths of hell and she was surrounded by enemy forces as well as the Demonic King, with her weapon missing and no strong allies around her due to them being on separate missions, she fought for days with only her celestial power and hand-to-hand combat abilities. As she grew more and more exhausted the demonic forces seemed to only increase. Most of her surrounding soldiers were occupied with simply trying to survive, as the light of hope grew dim a burst of spherical energy appeared in the distance, and from it a streak of light burst through the army.

?: "Lightspeed!"

Azu appeared directly behind her, with the line he bursted through being completely littered with enemies that had been defeated, the line slowly filled once more but for a second a straight line of the army had been completely empty.

A: "King!"

Azu tossed a glowing sword to her, as she caught it she immediately realised it was her own weapon.

CK: "Where did you get this?!"

Azu smiled.

A: "I've been running for 2 days straight you know! As soon as I saw them I ran all the way back here, the others are following my trail, they'll be here soon!"

Azu equipped his own weapons and prepared to fight, with their backs to each other they jumped back into the fight. Shortly after Azu's allies arrived and the demonic army was pushed back enough for them to take a short break. Azu walked towards a collapsed Celestial King, they may have been a king but that did not mean their stamina was infinite.

A: "Man, from up here it seems like you're as human as I am"

Azu extended his hand to help her up. The Celestial King smiled and took it, standing up on her feet again.

CK: "Well, wouldn't that be fun"

A: "Yeah, don't worry about us though, as long as you keep fighting we will too"

Azu smiled.

CK: "I have never met someone like you..."

A: "Something bad about me?"

CK: "No, quite the opposite actually. No one would go this far for a war that they shouldn't even be part of. Why do you expend so much energy to help me?"

A: "Well that's easy, cause were friends, right?"

CK: "Friends? That simple?"

A: "Well yeah, you're good and I like you, and I think you like me too, why shouldn't we be friends?"

The Celestial King had never had time for things like friendships and breaks, she was too preoccupied with building, maintaining and protecting her kingdom. The concept was known but suppressed by her, to the point where she just thought it was normal to no one approaching her. The only real relationships she had before this was alliances with other factions, these were only made due to mutual benefit.

CK: "Well, if that's the way you see things then I will follow it, friend"

Azu smiled and looked towards the distance, in the direction of the retreated demons.

A: "Well, let's get back to work then shall we?"

Over time Azu and his team were called to action by the Celestial King, the reasoning becoming less and less formal as time went on, the team began to know her better she could have been mistaken for being part of Azu's team personally, she may have even agreed to join them if her role as a king wasn't in question. But after Azu's death the team was lost, having not been Legends at the time they returned to the Celestial King with the bad news, it hit her hard .She had lost her first friend so suddenly - she promised to the team that she would hold off the Demonic King for as long as she could when they told her they wanted to get stronger. This was her first meeting with them since then and whilst she was still more powerful than they were, it would be an understatement to say that they had improved.

D: "How about this then, Seth, Natu and I will go with her. Miss Xion and Iona will stay"

X: "I think that'll probably be the best course of action"

None of the Legends were stupid, whilst they wanted to see their new leader grow the current situation had reached a state of danger too serious to ignore. Seth and Natu didn't argue, Iona was definitely the weakest out of all of them, even though her healing would be useful there were most likely other powerful figures with similar abilities and Xion was a little stronger than Seth, she was a physical teacher and she would be able to watch over Sora's physical training, which, to all of the Legends, were seen as the most important.

CK: "Thank you. As long as at least one of you is willing I would be extremely grateful, to have 3 is more than enough"

S: "Why're you being so formal? We're friends aren't we? This is just what friends do"

It's not like it was only Azu who befriended the Celestial King, all of them had helped each other and all of them had good relationships with each other, the only difference now was that they were much stronger.

D: "We all don't mind"

The Celestial King smiled. She had forgotten about how casual she was in the past when she was around Azu and his team, almost as if she had found an old memory that she had hidden away, she exhaled and spoke once more.

CK: "Well, Dezrin, Seth, Natu, Xion, Iona, thanks"

S: "No problem, I'll fight with you any time!"

Asurea looked at them with a smile.

A: "I'll announce your leaving of the school then, I'll make up some kind of story, I don't think anyone would really question me"

CK: "Thank you Asurea, well, do you want to prepare to leave or should we go now? I can stay for a maximum of 2 days before I return"

S: "Nah, let's just go now. We need to get back as soon as possible, the further and sooner we're able to push that demon back the better"

N: "Yeah, I'm ready to go now, there's not much here for us to stay for. Miss Xion and Iona are staying, we can leave our leader's growth to them"

D: "I also don't need to stay for any longer if Asurea is the one dealing with the complications of us leaving"

CK: "Are you sure? I thought you guys would be more stubborn to leave him"

D: "We've been with him for essentially his entire life so far, all we're really here for is his development, that same development would be destroyed if the Demonic King is already making his move. We're just doing our duty as his teammates"

Dezrin smiled. The Celestial King had forgotten how loyal but intelligent this team was, a far cry from others.

CK: "Okay, think you can keep up?"

S: "Well... we can try..."

Even with her weakened she was still the Celestial King, the only ones who really rivalled her in the past were Azu at his strongest and the Demonic King, she was still more powerful than Seth, maybe three to four times as powerful as Xion. Her form dissolved into a bright light as she shot out of the space and flew out of the school. Seth, Natu and Dezrin looked towards Xion and Iona and gave their short goodbyes before following. Xion and Iona watched as they disappeared into the distance and shortly returned to their areas, with Iona returning to the candidate group alone and Xion preparing to begin one of her first sessions. Asurea stayed in the spherical space and smiled.

A: "Oh Azu, always making friends with the most unlikely people..."

He reminisced about the past.

A: "Well. In their own way they're avenging you, I've got a school to run but as soon as I get the chance, I, too, will join the fight..."
