Kian steps in front of me and says "I'd like to have a word with you first." Tristan remains unphased as he says "Ah, yes. You're the one who's tainting Eris. Why don't you have a word with my friend instead." The dark hooded multi demon slowly crawls down from one of the rafters before dropping to the floor in front of Kian.
Worried, I try to pull Kian back but before I can, the demon grabs Kian and tosses him across the church like a ragdoll! I lift my hand and send a blast of magic but it's suddenly stopped by another blast of magic! Bright light explodes in the church, knocking sever pews over as I cover my eyes.
I look back to Tristan in complete shock. He has magic? Seeing the look on my face, his smile grows as he slowly takes a step down and says "Surprised? It's all thanks to you really... let the other two play for a while why we talk."
When I see the demon fly through the wall and Kian walking out looking pissed, I start to relax a little. It looks like he can handle the demon... I look back to Tristan and ask "What are you talking about?"
Tristan remains standing on the steps as he says "It was years ago when I first heard of you. A witch that was more powerful than any other witch and who was also a loner. While working as a witch hunter, I decided to keep an eye on you, and one day, I got lucky. I saw you change."
He taps the white rose on his lips as he says "You're something of a mystery really. Something that shouldn't exist and yet, here you are. It was then I started digging into your past. A hundred and twenty-three years worth of digging and what I found was intriguing."
He takes another step down as Kian and the demon continue fighting but I make sure to keep checking on him. If he shows any sign of distress, I'm kicking the demon freak all the way back to hell where it belongs.
"I traced your bloodline all the way back to the very first witch, Queen Cara but when doing my research, I stumbled across a book that mentioned another but she was different. She was described to have silver-blue eyes and silver-blue hair... a Snow Leopard shifter. I got to thinking and suddenly had a thought... it was you."
"Not an ancestor, you. I don't know how but I know it to be true. Queen Cara was known for her ability to create. She could make anything because she was gifted by the gods!" His eyes take on a crazy gleam as he says "The ultimate supernatural and YOU carry the same gift."
I look at him like he's insane as I say "You've obviously spent too much time with theories. You're mistaken. Yes, I'm half witch and half shifter but that's it." He chuckles at me and says "Oh, that's just the tip of it. Queen Cara was gifted by the gods and had the power of creation but you are so much more. Your blood carries magic that could create a whole new world, a whole new race. With your blood... anything is possible."
He finally takes the last step and lifts his arms as he says "Look at me for example. I was once human, a human dying of cancer but with your blood, I've been reborn!" I eye him up and down with confusion and say "Uh-huh... Let's get this over with. What the fuck do you really want?"
He lowers his arms and brings the rose back to his lips as he says "I want to create a new world with you but before we can do that, we have to kill all the gods of this world. With just a word, I can kill all those in power down in hell but with you... I can kill the gods!"
I scoff at him and say "Kill the gods? Hah... My blood my have cured your cancer but it did nothing for your insanity. Did you really think I would help you after you killed my mother!?" Tristan takes another slow step forward as his smile turns knowing.
"Agree to help me and I can bring her back." He says with a devious smile. My heart skips a beat as Kian and the demon break apart the church around us. When Tristan sees the hesitation he steps even closer as he says "Not only will I give your father and brother back, I'll bring your mother back."
I grit my teeth and say "Impossible. She's dead. You can't bring someone back from the dead." He slowly shakes his head and says "I was able to catch her soul in limbo. I have everything I need to bring her back except... you."
I swallow hard as my mind and heart suddenly begin to war with each other in uncertainty. Could my mother be brought back? Was that even possible? When I feel something brush my cheek, I quickly look up and step back with a frown.
Tristan holds the white rose out and smiles as he says "What do you say?" I feel my eyes burning in angry tears as I say "If you knew me or my mother at all... you'd already know my answer." His eyes stay glued on me as he says "You have the power to kill the gods, use it, and save your mother! Would you really turn your back on her?"
A single tear falls down my cheek as my heart wars with right and wrong but my anger continues to build as I say "Just because you have the power to do something, doesn't mean you should." His smile starts to fade as he says "At the very end of everything, we only regret the chances we didn't take! Do you want to be left with regrets?"
I start laughing, causing Tristan to frown but the laugh is twisted and shallow. I hang my head low as my laughter fades away. Another tear falls as I whisper "All this... all this for power? All this killing... all this pain... for power..."
Tristan takes a step back as I slowly lift my head. A broken smile with an untouchable pain etched within my teary eyes greets him as I ask "Was this really all this was about?" Tristan's eyes harden as he says "This is only the beginning! Can't you see that?"
"Hah... the beginning? The beginning where you kill everyone I hold dear?" I say taking a step forward. Kian and the demon were now fighting outside as Tristan and I stand alone in the abandoned church. Thunder cracks so loudly, the church raddles around us.
Tristan takes another step back as he says "Kill me and you'll never be able to save your mother or her soul! Only I know where it is, Eris! ME!" I take another step forward as the wind in the church begins to lift my hair. "You seemed to have grossly underestimated me, Tristan. You see, my mother always told me, only dead fish go with the flow and sometimes... Only a monster can kill a monster. If I have to be a monster to kill you, then so be it."
