I step closer to the wall, once again lifting my hand but Kian's quick to grab my hand with a low growl of frustration. I glance at him and try to pull my hand back as I say "I'm not going to touch it! I'm trying to pick up the magic seeping from it. I told you before but I feel like I've felt it before or like it's familiar."
Ambrose sighs and says "That's great, really... but I need to figure out what this thing is and how to stop it. I have a business to run." I glance back to Ambrose and say "Is it really that important to keep the club open right now? You own nearly everything here in New Orleans, I'm pretty sure you can handle closing for a while."
Ambrose rubs his temples as he says "Normally, I would agree with you but if you hadn't noticed, everyone in the club right now are Vampires with a few select followers. The next full moon is going to be a Blood moon so Vampire covens from all over the US are going to be coming here! Here in this club, right smack in the middle of New Orleans, the city known for its power, mystery, and endless possibilities. This was planned way before this wall started acting up! I just can't close the club!"
I stare at Ambrose with wide eyes before slowly nodding my head and saying "Well... maybe you can make it a feature wall or something?" Ambrose snaps his teeth shut as he stares at me like he's about to rip my head off.
I struggle not to laugh as I say "Look, I don't know what you want me to do. It's not like I put this thing here or like I'm some kind of Supernatural expert. Hell, I've been so busy dying, coming back to life, going to different realms, and getting married that I didn't even realize that the next full moon is a blood moon! I'm just as lost as you!"
Kian stiffens as Ambrose frowns and asks "Married? You two got married?" Realizing my mistake, I quickly clear my throat and say "No, it's a long story but I've got my hands full Ambrose." Even though I can't see his eyes through the dark sunglasses, I know he's staring into my eyes as he sighs and says "Fair enough..."
I look back to the wall, stepping closer as I say "Kian, stop grabbing my hand. I'm not going to touch it." Kian grunts with a doubtful look but he doesn't grab my hand this time as I try to feel the power seeping out of the cracks.
It's familiar and yet at the same time, I've never felt it before. It was the oddest feeling. I move closer until I'm only a foot away from the cracks. I slowly drag my fingers through the light in front of me as I start feeling the strangest thing.
My blood... my blood is reacting to the light! As I watch the light touch my hand and fingers, a faint shimmer can be seen on my skin. Suddenly, everything around me fades away as I feel like something is calling me. Calling my blood.
I blink, trying to clear away the confusion as Kian practically drags me from the wall. I pull my sunglasses off and look back to the wall with confusion as Kian pulls me from the room. Ambrose silently watches everything with a frown before he glances back to the wall with a puzzled look on his face.
All the noises and smells come back so quickly, it's almost too much! It's like being in a dark, calm room and someone suddenly comes in and flicks on the light while banging on pots and pans as loudly as possible.
As Kian pulls me through the club, the Vampires turn to watch us with various looks. Some with looks of hunger, desire, fear, curiosity, and even hatred. I try to ground myself as I focus on Kian's hand but when we finally make it out of the club, I take a deep breath of the cool night air.
Noticing my distress, Kian places his large hands on both sides of my face as he leans down to look into my eyes. "Come back to me, dollface. Breathe." I take a few calming breaths before nodding my head. He stares into my eyes with concern and fear as he asks "What happened?"
I reach up and grab his hands, pulling them from my face as I turn back to the club and say "My blood was reacting to the light. It felt almost like it was calling me..." I look back to Kian and say "It really does feel familiar Kian but my mind can't place it."
Kian glances over to the club before stiffening. I feel myself frowning as I ask "What is it?" The air around us becomes thick with hostility as Kian growls and says "You're new fan club..." I turn around to see the Druid watching us from across the street.
The others are probably somewhere close... I feel a headache coming on as I turn and say "Return to wherever you came from Druid. You're kind kills us witches, isn't that right? I want nothing to do with you or your kind."
The Druid stands his ground as he says "We hunted the witches that once hunted down the Hallows bloodline. We only killed those with evil intentions but you would willingly keep company with a demon?"
I slowly turn with a dark smirk on my face so that I'm facing him completely before saying "You claim you're here for the true bloodline of the Hallows but I'm anything but." My eyes begin to glow as I say "Go back before you get hurt. I'm not the one you're looking for."
A large bus passes between us and when I'm able to see the other side of the street again, he's gone.
