161 Awkward

Enzo stops dead in his tracks as his eyes widen in shock. Suddenly, his towel falls, instantly making me turn head while muttering "I do NOT want to see that." A large hand lands on my head before pulling me against a strong chest. 

At first, I tense but when I realize who it is, I instantly relax into his arms. Kian places a soft kiss on the top of my head as Queen Cara scoffs and says "Cover yourself Enzo or I'll remove them altogether." 

I hear fabric moving before he says "Cara... I thought..." Queen Cara smirks and says "I Died? Yes, well... that's what I wanted everyone to think but what I want to know is why you're here... in Eris's house... In nothing but that."

I lift my head and look to see Enzo quickly using his magic to change into a nice black suit before saying "That... That's a very long and complicated story but I'm more interested in hearing about you." He awkwardly smiles and tries to be charming but the panic in his eyes was ruining the effect.

Queen Cara slowly turns to me and asks "Why's he here and not in hell?" I swallow hard when I think about what Enzo had said before. They were lovers and Enzo was now married to me... I open my mouth to say something when Kian suddenly speaks up.

"He kidnapped Eris. Nearly got her killed in hell, forced himself on her and when she fought back, he tried to kill her. Then, he got some lunatic to shoot Eris, effectively getting her blood and escaping hell. Only to come here and try to kill everyone and everything. Eris killed him but he had her father and brother so when she went to the spirit world to save them, he once again stole her blood and forced a marriage bond onto her. That's why he's here..."

My mouth hangs open as I look up to Kian in awe. Was he keeping all of this on record!? Queen Cara's face became colder and colder, to the point I felt a chill settle deep within my heart. Was she mad at me for killing her past lover and now marrying him!? 

Even though I didn't do it out of love or anything... I quickly speak up and say "I didn't really know you two were lovers and... well, to be honest, I have no feelings for him and I think the only reason he's been so stuck on me is because I'm somehow connected to you..." 

When I see her eyes start to glow, I immediately shut up. She slowly turns to look at Enzo and I instantly see him flinch. He lifts a hand and says "My love... You know that it's only you. I truly love and care about... I thought you were dead!"

Suddenly, he falls to his knees with a grimace. Queen Cara slowly walks over and asks "You told them that we were lovers?" Her voice was so low and so calm, I broke out in goosebumps. I've NEVER seen her like this or this angry.

She again cuts him off and says "Do not mention him with your dirty mouth! You killed my Grandmother! You lying, soul-sucking, backstabbing, ASSHOLE!" The entire house shakes as her anger threatens to take my breath away. 

He killed her Grandmother!? Queen Cara glares down at Enzo and says "I told my Grandfather to seal you away into the deepest parts of hell as punishment! How dare you use my own flesh and blood to break out!!" 

I strain to keep standing but when Kian drops to his knees, I use myself to shield him. Kian rasps out "My Queen! He's... He's tied his life to Eris!" Queen Cara doesn't look back or even seem to hear it but her next words shock us all. 

"Enzo... You will go back to hell and remain there for the rest of eternity or until I'm no longer angry. Eternity may actually be shorter..." Enzo goes to beg but Queen Cara lifts a hand and all of us watch in shock as the floor literally opens up. 

Large black chains fly out of the hole, wrapping themselves around Enzo before pulling him down. Enzo curses Queen Cara as he's pulled under but at the last moment, I feel something snap like a rubber band inside of me!

The ground closes up and with a flick of her wrist, the floor looks untouched. She remains standing there for several silent minutes as Kian now stands and tries to help me. Panic floods his dark eyes before he yells "They're connected!"

I reach out to him, struggling to catch my breath and shaking my head as Queen Cara finally turns around and says "I heard you the first time, Kian. I broke the connection but it's still painful." I grit my teeth as tears come to my eyes but when I look up to Queen Cara, she too had tears in her eyes but for entirely different reasons. 

I force myself to breathe and grit out "Whenever you feel like it, we can both go down and kick his ass a few times. Make his life in hell, truly hellish." Queen Cara suddenly smiles before laughing. Tears streak down her beautiful face but she quickly wipes them away as she says "We may just make that a yearly special."

This time I laugh but when Kian falls to his butt, we both look to him in question. He waves us both off as he rubs his chest and says "I nearly had a damn heart attack..." Queen Cara and I both start laughing again as Binx continues to hide from Queen Cara.

When I turn to look at him, I reach out and ask "What's wrong with you?" Queen Cara's laughter stops but her eyes light up in surprise. She leans over, trying to see around me as she says "What do we have here? What a surprise..."
